I spoke with Simon today outside London Bridge, he told me about this TH-cam video. He is still around the area, most of the time outside Barclays or the Shard side of London Bridge.
Read some of the comments out to him and the kind messages put a smile on his face.

I pass through London Bridge every day. I’m going to try and find and help him with some money. I was homeless for 2 years. Luckily I was able to get off the streets and now have a roof over my head and a relatively comfortable life. I feel for anyone in this position. It can happen to anyone. Just one bad decision or a piece of bad luck.

This is so sad as you can see he has some type of vulnerability. This country is fucked. Boris is a selfish heartless git. Someone buy him some shoes. If I knew where he was I would definitely do it. Does anyone also know how I can go about being a volunteer for helping homeless? My mother was homeless for 21 years. Also I have gone through homelessness. I have a compassion for people like this.

Something doesn’t add up. He said that he’s shoes were nicked and he need to get money for a pair as well , but at the end he said that charity shops are giving clothes for free. Isn’t that shoeless situation being used as a factor to get more money . And I don’t really believe he doesn’t use drugs . No offense tho, just my point of view .

    • @johnstack5008
      @johnstack5008 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Doing what he does, you are a going to be doing a lot of walking and standing. You need a very good, supportive pair of shoes that fit perfect. Any old pair of shoes will likely lead to blisters and callouses.
Personally I have a hard time telling addicts from non-addicts. The addicts can be very good at hiding their addiction because they know that nobody will give money to an addict. Non-addicts could be sleep deprived or taking prescription pain meds (among other things) which could cause slurred speech or some other behavior that may lead one to believe that they are under the influence.

I experienced a little bit of homelessness when I studied in London as I could no longer afford digs. I valued my exams so I continued to study whilst living on street. Sleeping in public waiting rooms at International airports, hospitals and chapels. Though I never begged its difficult to wash without spending money to get into public swimming pools etc. Often walked past long time homeless peoples and speculated about the truth of their existence. Arriving at a questionable conclusion that I never hung around long enough to find out the truth about.paranoid about organised criminals utilising homeless as look out posts.

@@angusmeigh5141 Nah, I just kept myself to myself. Thought the whole homeless community looked sketchy from my struggling student point of view. Nobody as far as Im aware even clicked on that I was homeless, I often acted like I was out jogging and needed to lye down in park to recover.

As much as I don’t like to see anyone in this position! There’s more to this story that meets the eye.
It is evident to the eye that this man is using substances. There is help and accommodation available.
I was just like this man and slept rough for 11 years from the age of 13.
The money that can be made from begging is definitely enough for a night somewhere.
It saddens me because in that lifestyle addiction does prevent you from getting in somewhere.
Unfortunately, there’s more to it than getting a bed! The complex needs are too great to face.
There are services available, for those that want to help themselves. There’s a reason this man isn’t able to get off of the street and it’s not a lack of services 💔

Unfortunately, it's the only way he knows to support his habit, and thankfully he's in a homeless hostel nearby so he doesn't physically sleep on the streets anymore. He still needs help but the video was going a bit too far so I had to expose him. Apologies to him, I like him, but it's too much.

Me too if he needs money to get in to a hostel or even a deposit for a home , I'm fortunate enough to have enough money to help this lad. He's not a druggie and Is highly intelligent, nobody with a heart male or female could possibly watch this video and not shed a tear. We're all human and everybody at one time needs help, I can help this man so plz let me know how I can find him

    1. If he was working as a painter and decorator, which is a reasonably well-paid job, how come he'd no money whatsoever to secure even basic accommodation?
    2. For a homeless man, he's surprisingly well-groomed.
    Still, a nice enough lad.

If he was to smash half a dozen windows he might get a week in prison which would be better than where he is and then he would get the help he needs, courses etc jobs.

He can go door to door, and offer to do scut jobs for the minimum wage workers who work there (owners are always absentee, busy wallowing in their money) the min. wage workers will always have some task they'll pay a few dollars/pounds to have someone else do them like clean the loo or take out the trash cans etc., and over time you build up a reputation and you build up from there.

Nothing this guy says makes any sense. Never before have I seen an interview on youtube with a homeless person and heard such rubbish. If I listed all the nonsense and contradictions in his storey I'd be here all day. If you believe him go back to the beginning and really listen to what he's saying. It's not like he has to lie like this to be seen as a person who deserves better in peoples eyes. I've never heard the like before!

If I remember this video correctly he also gets really angry when his 'patter' isn't getting any money from the interviewer. He get's more and more agitated and starts to threaten to leave a lot. ( Probably thinks the interviewer is so desperate to talk to him that he'll give money to stop him from leaving.) You can see the frustration build as none of his lies result in cash.
