Thanks for this video ! But before I saw it, I badly twisted my softbox and I really cannot untwist it ... can you make a video to explain how to untwist ? I am trying all the way possible for 3 days and I am desperate ...
You just need to twist the individual pieces that are bent in the opposite direction until you get the shape back.
Well, I'll do my best, but when I untwist one side, an other side gets twisted and I cannot manage to make the four sides good again :-/

I've run into an interesting issue with one of mine. The thing seems to have folded in on itself so it no longer stays up properly. Any tips on flipping it back? It's impossible to fold the bugger down in this state. I can easily fold up my others but it's just this one that's giving me hassle! I can't seem to find anything on a similar issue, the results are just how to fold them.

+TalesOfWar I just got my first one of these "pop up" soft boxes (I'm not a fan, so I've been avoiding them, but I figured I give one a try.) On my attempts to re-coil it prior to watching this video, I managed to do what sounds like the same thing you did. The rings are actually hoops of some material (some plastic I assume.) The hoops need to be "straight" all the way around and not twisted or flipped in on themselves. It was a bit of a fight, but I managed to feel through the fabric around the edge of each one and find where each hoop had twisted. I'm not sure how I managed it - lots of grunting, adjusting and foul language - but I managed to get all the hoops back into their original "straight" form, and it's holding itself open again. For each side that's not popping open, fell along the edge and find where there's a twist in the hoop, then try to work it back "straight." Not particularly clear directions, I realize, but I hope that once you feel out the twist, it will make sense. Good Luck!
Thomas Donalek I know exactly what you mean. They seem to have flipped around so they stay in the opposite shape lol. I prefer the Bowens type design where you insert the rods into a little hole on the mounting ring but they're a bit more expensive than the fold up type. They don't tend to fold as small either. They fold up more like umbrellas.
Oh, and lots of swearing was also involved in my attempts to re bend the damn thing haha.
