    I've had mine for 22 months. Still looks like a brand-new watch. Runs like one too, at under +2 seconds per day. No complaints or issues.

    Hi! If after 9 months your watch went from a few seconds off per day to 40-50 seconds off per day, it likely means that it is magnetized. It is nothing horrible and any watchmaker can unmagnetize it for you very fast with the right instrument. It should be quite cheap as well.

      They should not even charge for it if you do a regular business with them. It takes all of 30 seconds.

    Finally got mine last weekend. Love it. Very simple and legible but also handsome and interesting. The lume is bright but, more importantly, long-lasting. Mine came with the leather Nato, which is thin enough that it doesn't make the watch look or feel bulky. If it's in your price range and you've been looking for a field watch with classic charm, get one of these.

    I have one with the white dial. It’s my daily wear while at work (electrician)
    Very comfortable and practical watch. Paid about £450.00 and I consider it value for money.
    My cheapest watch, but possibly gets more wrist time than the others.

    Great video. I too am a fan of Hamilton watches. I was lucky last year and purchased a H694390 mechanical model. It is equipped with an ETA 2804-2 28800 beat 42 hour power reserve movement. It runs about 6 seconds fast a day. I love it. I have the Khaki King automatic with the champagne dial as well and I like that one just a bit more. Whatever Hamilton you choose you simply can't go wrong. The quality and craftsmanship are there. I've had zero issues with either orf them over the past two years of ownership.

    Picked up my Khaki about a week ago for a great deal and so far I've been loving its simplicity. Mines on the leather nato, which looks perfect for this style of watch, and I find the strap to be quite nice for the money. This will be my everyday work watch so I'm hoping for durability and longevity. It has already taken some decent hits leaving a few minor nicks on the case but this has not affected the accuracy one bit. The Khaki is currently only losing about one second per day with a nightly windings. Very cool watch!

    I recently obtained the khaki field mechanical watch with olive green dial and date. This is my first mechanical watch and gets the most wrist time amongst my collection which includes Rolex, IWC, etc. This is the best watch under $500. In fact it’s the best “value” watch out there. Great video.

    I used three different versions of Khaki mechanical. One with 2804-2(with date), one with H-50(no date with extended power reserve), one with 2801-2(no date). I kept 2801-2 no date version which has not extended power reserve but still classic eta smoother seconds version. It has very limited alternatives in market, maybe Victorinox infantry mechanical and Glycine combat 6, but still not thinner as Hamilton Khaki mechanical. I will highly appreciate Hamilton's Khaki line even if i'm into higher end field watches.

    Hi to everyone!! I’m in love with this watch it’s history and heritage and I’m thinking of getting one but I’m really skeptical when it comes to its crown…I read that it’s really easy to break it while winding it…like because of the fact that they extended their battery to 80 hours this has made the needle inside way smaller hence easier to break it…what do you think? Does this watch comes with the durability that you would expect from a field watch? Thank you all in advance!!

    I absolutely love this looks of this watch, my only gripe is that I would want it with a display caseback to show off some of the inner workings of a mechanical watch(even if not so finished or detailed as a watch made with a display caseback in mind).

    I love this watch so much that I own three variations of it 😊. Mine still feature the ETA as I prefer the smooth sweeping seconds hand. While my first purchase is going strong (I bought this watch new), two of my Khaki Field Mechanicals required repair after 2 years of use, which was very disappointing as I really baby my watches. Having bought them used (“as new”), I put this down to the former owners,. Nonetheless, I cannot speak highly enough of this watch which is so comfortable that it just disappears on the wrist

    Ok revieuw mam.i also purchased rthe same you showed it gets a lot of wrist time...I am not a huge fan of NATO straps..I do not know why.it feels a little strange .so I put it on a quality 2 piece leather strap and I am happy with it, I knew the gap between the mugs and the case is a little wide so there is a small gap if you know what I mean.I accepted it ofcourse it is certainly not a dealbreaker for me but I think it is worthwhile mentioning it.

    After researching this watch I had my hesitations (reports of internal springs snapping) in purchasing it but I decided to go ahead with the purchase and just received it about a week ago. Well I love the watch so far! accurate time is a key criteria with me and this watch so far in a short period is nailing it at +2 seconds. The size dimensions are great as I also have a 6.75 wrist even though the lugs are just a touch long . The strap is very nice and comfortable I usually have an issue with NATO straps as they tend be to sharp for me around the edges. As far as a negative the watch appears to have zero or close to zero AR coating and reflects a ton of light. You do have me a little worried with movement as yours has become considerably erratic. If my watch can stay at its current accuracy it will
    be a home run purchase.

    • @itsKibbleTalksWatches
      @itsKibbleTalksWatches  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching Raymond and sharing your experience with yours! I hope your accuracy continues, as these are mechanical items with a fair bit of human input it could always be something simple, an over oiled balance or many other things which can be fairly simple fixes. Let's see how mine continues.

    • @jashoo8597
      @jashoo8597 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mechanical watches all have those mechanical issues u mentioned even for high priced watches. I ever bought a used 2 years old tudor pelagos, dropped 20cm only to the table top and the internal spring broke. User error (either me or the previous owner)? Probably? Expectation that it should be robust enough for 20cm drop at that price, definitely!

In the booklet that comes with it there is no info about winding it up. Is there a chance that this watch can be overwound? Do you keep winding until you come to a mechanical stop or does it have some form of inbuilt slip mechanism to prevent an overwind. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

    Thank you for your honest and knowledgeable review of this watch. I do own The Hamilton Khacki Green Officer Watch, H694390, in olive green. It has the canvas/leather strap with eyelet holes. I have had it for 4 months and has been worn daily. It is the perfect size for my small 6.75 inch wrist. With my poor eyesight, the white numbers jump out and tell me the time easily. The seconds lollipop style is classy and easily seen as well. My only negative is that the date at 3 spot is small and hard for me to read. Not a problem for most people though. The band has finally settled down and gently fits my hand perfectly. I enjoy the subtleness, and thinness. It is very easy to wear and is not over powering. I look forward to your future reviews. Thank you!

      Different price point. Check also Vaer field waches, in between and really good looking. I also love the Longines Heritage 1938.

    How is going now? I have really hard time to make decisions between this and auto one:( I like this model more because of the simplicity... The auto a little shiny dres watch! And I hear bad things about this new mechanical.

    You forgot to mention, that the today's Hamilton is produced by Swatch in Switzerland with a swatch movement because swatch bought the brandname. So this hamilton has nothing of the spirit of the old US company.
    It's the same like Ray Ban which is now owned and produced by an italian company.

    No swimming with a 50m rated watch? I don't understand why people think they need 100-200m watches to go swimming in a 3m pool! 50m is extreamly deep!!

    It's a very nice watch. 80 hrs power reserve is great, but I usually wear a watch for a week before swapping so I still have to wind it anyway! I wasn't sure about whether this style was for me so got an Addies pilot style watch with a Seiko NH35, 41 hr power reserve, +7 spd, brushed Stainless Steel finish, sapphire crystal, signed crown, engraved back, 200m water resistance.....all for €75. The lume is bright and all night. Anyway I've decided I do like this style, but with an excellent watch on my wrist for 4 times less, I definitely won't get a Hamilton. Excellent and honest review.

    I bought a few of the Hamiltons as gifts. I kept the field khaki mechanical but plan on selling it. It’s not my cup of tea. Without a screw down crown it’s not “field” enough for me.

    Are you sure your watch isn't magnetized? 40-50 seconds fast is bonkers. It has to be

  • @Illsamustache
    @Illsamustache 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    If your watch is running that fast, then you need to stop putting it on or next to electronic devices and your cell phone. Also invest in a demagnetized.
    I have the same watch and get +1-2 seconds a day.

    i'm looking to buy this hamilton as my next watch but i want the 42 h power reserve version, cause it seems the h-50 has issues.
    How can i identify this version because the sellers have often no idea about this two different movements .
    should it be year of manufacturing below 2019? what else ?

    • @Illsamustache
      @Illsamustache 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve not had any issues with the H-50. I have the same watch and it’s keeping +1-2 secs per day.

      All newer ⌚ from Swatch Group featuring 8️⃣0️⃣ how power reserve are laser regulated indeed. If you want the traditional regulator you'll have to get older models: hard to come by nowadays as brand 🆕 or buy ⌚ having Sellita SW200

      untrue. Off the top of my head there's a German guy called Ted I think, some French reviewers, a swiss couple, a guy from Chile and recently I've come across Indians and Malays reviewing watches. Plus the dozens of US reviewers. Watch reviewing is truly an international sport at this stage!
