The ice head is the most annoying. There is no way to dodge the small icicle barrage attack. There is only one way to counter it: Using Balrog, or just keep close so it doesn't activate the attack at all.

Yesterday, I just beat this boss. its one of my favourite so far, after cavaliere. This boss was so hard and I have a goldfish brain. I had to use 3 gold orb to beat this boss. it was my first playthrough.

from what ive heard jumping has increased s attached so if you fuck up the royal guard theres a chance you wont get hit anyway its a good habit to get into

In my experience it's all about quick thinking and reflexes. When it comes to mixing styles you need to be able to judge a situation immediately. And then make your decision on the matter. With weapons it's a lot easier. If you think you're getting repetitive then simply press each button. As regular melee weapons are very adept at combos I'd recommend swapping weapons more. If you are having trouble you could set king Cerberus as your weapon, as that thing is a one weapon style machine. Or choose the auto combo, though this does lower your total rank at the end.
@@grue5808 Well, I get good starts in the combos, but around the middle I tend to get lost and lose the touch. I'd like some hints on some basic and mid level combos, so I could repeat them until I get the muscular memory practiced, and the I can be going for something more complex. I searched around yt, but the majority of videos is just the guys talking how you do while their combo videos run on the background, there's a few videos only describing the process with some examples so I can practice. I've seen a donguri tutorial once on how to start doing good combos, but it was for dmc4, I don't know if it applies on dmc5 as well... But I thank you for the hints anyway. Waiting for the Vergil dlc so I can play a bit with him as well. It's been a long time lol
@@daltonaguiar5322 you're welcome. I'd advise you put king Cerberus and balrog together and practice with them if you want to be ambitious. Those two are godsend at extending combos. Also level up your style actions. Unlocking air trick for trickster literally has you teleport to the enemy you're locked onto. Trickster is also great for mobility. From personal experience I dont find much use in learning combos. I always get A's or B's at least from just going with the flow. Do the first thing that comes into your mind. Think you need to pop DT for some extra stun on your attacks whilst you collect yourself? Do it. Think swordmaster cavaliere willvextend it plenty. Do it. You understand?

I just left the main weapon (sparda/Dante) and the balrog as secondary, the other ones I was letting off for a while because I thought leaving a lot of weapos would confuse the hell out of me when I was changing weapons. I got to do the jump cancel and all, and it really boosts the way you can connect combos. Sometimes I kept doing JC while I was thinking what to do next lol. But eventually my coordination would fail me. That's why I was searching for some initial path I could walk to get a better handling on the situation. And when there were many enemies on screen I would often get hit and lose the flow. There's a lot yet for me to get at a medium level at least lol. But thx again for the tips, maybe if I had given Cerberus a bit more of trying I could have had some good ideas. I didn't play too much of the aftergame because I jumped to another thing, so I couldn't get to maximize all of the styles and weapons. And I know this is essential for combos.
This boss can be difficult the first time, knowing the style changes, the preferred weapon, whether fire or combat, which attack is preferable with the royalguard or which is not, and exploit those skills and defeat the boss with style. P.S: Listen to the Eagle's theme song from Killer Instict with this boss, if it suits you :)
Hehehe, dmd oh dmd. Fighting this boss on dmd... I almost lost it. Didn't have issues with other bosses but with this one... It was a terrible experience. I had to learn jump cancelling just so I could earn DT, then transform to gain health then attack as I'm jump cancelling, while scared that he might just graze me and take half my health bar. Meanwhile I was just attacking with DSD so that I don't do useless combos that cost me my life. The fight was 20 minutes of tension. 😪. Ps: how do you guys switch styles while controlling the character's movements.... 🥺. And weapon placements too
Bruhhh.. its ok we all have been there, even the pro and hacker were once in noob category.. about changing styles keep trickster as a hot style, as it has i-frames to dodge if you don't feel confident or in a crowd of enemies. there are gaps in between combos, like in case of king cerebrus his fire head swings its lands 5-6 times then rests, use that window to styling in swordmaster and damaging. Royal guard only when practiced enough.... about weapon placement, you can memorize melee weapons and try changing them mid combos.. the more you practice the more powerful the impact will be.
the noob its basically me cus i started when Vergil came out (first DMC game I Started) I got used to play Musou and MMORPG Games (just single weapons)
Tfw noob is better than you. In my SoS fight with Cerberus I felt so confident I ended up eating every single hit for the first minute. Then resorted to abusing gunslinger for the rest of the fight only going in with cavaliere on electric phases.
I can royal guard the majority of his moves, i can even kill him with no damage on DMD.. but how the actual fuck did donguri welter move the icicles falling from the damn ceiling?
The only reason I am here is to feel incompetent, because this boss killed me twice on demon hunter difficulty.
