There’s this Korean boy band names BTS who were snubbed of any awards at the Grammys this year or something so their 9 year old fans have taken it upon themselves to sort that out. They’ve gone on to every recently posted Grammy video, mostly the ones without as many views (to really get their point across), and left hate. Unfortunately most of the lesser-known artists are the ones in the firing line despite having successful years with big futures ahead of them.

I suspect that every Grammy award winner's acceptance speech clip is flooded with the identical responses from the same senders. Nothing in the world wrong with BTS's expertly produced videos. But something is wrong when people troll Americana awards agitating for an industry-generated K-pop group. A fan base that calls itself an army? I googled "mental health in Korea" and this is what I found: "Mental Health in South Korea: Mental health issues are prevalent in South Korea, with the second highest suicide rate in the OECD and the highest rate of hospitalizations for mental illness among OECD countries. South Korea has state-funded mental health services, the majority of which are inpatient hospital facilities, but they are largely underfunded and underutilized." This is a tragedy. This is the real tragedy. Any mental health issues unaddressed, anywhere. BTS is a great advocate for mental health, by the way. Their support for mental health, especially given the suicide rate amongst K-pop stars who are treated like chickens in an egg facility, is just as important as their phenomenal talent.

The BTS marketing machine, and BTS is an industry phenomenon in itself, (sort of like the Monkees… remember the Monkees?) which calls the fanbase its "army" and clearly they use any forum to further their campaign. It's the dark underbelly of hero worship. Most unfortunate. The group is quite talented, and groomed, as was Michael Jackson (remember Michael Jackson?) Many K-pop stars suffer from depression, which is no surprise, and the individual members of BTS advocate for mental health. That might be a better focus for their fan base.

Buddy, you can't expect a K-pop group to win Americana… get a grip on yourself.

Nothing in the world wrong with BTS's expertly produced videos. But something is wrong when people troll Americana awards agitating for an industry-generated K-pop group. A fan base that calls itself an army? I googled "mental health in Korea" and this is what I found: "Mental Health in South Korea: Mental health issues are prevalent in South Korea, with the second highest suicide rate in the OECD and the highest rate of hospitalizations for mental illness among OECD countries. South Korea has state-funded mental health services, the majority of which are inpatient hospital facilities, but they are largely underfunded and underutilized."
This is a tragedy. This is the real tragedy. Any mental health issues unaddressed, anywhere. BTS is a great advocate for mental health, by the way. Their support for mental health, especially given the suicide rate amongst K-pop stars who are treated like chickens in an egg facility, is just as important as their phenomenal talent.

The recording academy should be more open to everyone than just Blacks and Whites. Though Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande are a big name, BTS deserved to win more than them, especially in that category. Seems like the recording academy doesn't have any idea about all the hardships and dedication of a K-pop artist . Grammy's is not only for black or white and racism is not only about white against black
