There is growing demand for cordless alternatives to gas-powered outdoor power equipment. Makita is meeting demand with an expanding line of cordless OPE, including the 18V LXT® Brushless 10” Top Handle Chain Saw (model XCU06Z). Powered by one 18V LXT® battery (sold separately) for maximum power, speed and run-time, the XCU06Z uses the strongly-preferred 18V battery platform. The XCU06Z has a variable speed trigger and high chain speed (0-4,720 FPM) for increased cutting speed, with torque boost mode for cutting dense material. For a suburban homeowner/small ranch owner, this is an absolutely terrific chainsaw. I bought the 12" model of this 10" 18v chainsaw & love it. It has the same 4,720 chain rpm as the 10" model (all currently produced Makita dual battery 18V battery models are 3,940 chain rpm), the additional 2" of reach I wanted, but cost just $20.00 more and amazingly weighs just 3.2 ounces more. It's obviously not a Stihl MS 881 with a Rollomatic 36" bar but it's not intended for use by a professional logger on a job-site. Very nice chainsaw for it's intended use.
These are wonderful saws for trimming or light brush clearing, such as you are doing. I love mine!

If the Makita gets hot at that price buy two. Imo
Why doesn’t anyone mention the high torque mode?? While running push the power button it will turn yellow and it’s in high torque mode.
Is this the case for other Makita chain saws?
It's too smart I'm almost done cutting and it shuts down ugh! However I do push the limit of its capacity for sure.
