Today's Gospel tells us that Jesus and his disciples also go on a kind of vacation. Go ye yourselves separately into the wilderness and rest a little. Jesus empathizes with the disciples, who have just returned from demanding apostolic work.
He understands their fatigue and nervous tension. He knows they need rest. He himself, moreover, a real man, a son of man, as Ben-Adam calls him, also needed rest.
