We used to autocross a base model '89 CRX. It had 70hp. Gutted, coils, slicks. We'd always place 1st and/or 2nd in our classes (car owner was in a more experienced class). The awesome thing about having minimal power in a FWD car is that you can keep your foot on the floor without worrying about torque steer or understeer of any kind. The goal is to maintain as much speed as possible and just focus on the line. So much fun.
I had a burgundy EJ9 sedan 3 years ago. Bought it with 90k kilometers from an old gentleman, that thing was mint. Enjoyed it so much for a year, that D14A4 might only have 90 hp but it's a blast to drive. I should've kept it, one of the best cars I had recently.
I absolutely love a clean Honda. This is a really nice, not overdone build. I honestly expected to see the ubiquitous B swap or K swap but was pleasantly surprised to see an OEM appearing SOHC motor in there. This is a great, well rounded car.

We have an eg civic in Greece build for track 135hp with aero and weight reduction that I believe can easily do les than 8:15 in Nurburgring based on the times it’s running in our racetracks!
Love for the SOHC!! I love it, makes me wanna build a mini me motor for my 89 Civic si and boost hell outta her.. but I do miss my old fully built, sleeved b20vtec itr built head,99 itr trans toda flywheel etc, had a child so car had to go I sooo regret selling it now yrs later
I passed my driving test a facelift EJ9 hatch, it was in a similar colour (aqua mint opal metallic) iv only seen 3 others in person with that colour and maybe another 5 or 6 on forums and for sale, rare colour indeed
Nah no vtec, powered by a D14a4 that comes with 89hp from factory, you can install a D16 head and that will give it vtec, what they call a minime swap and that would give you a solid 130hp+, so this guy is running the standard head.

Extremely tasteful. Not many Civic Hatchbacks are this clean with fair power, but that's the Nurburg. You'll see just about everything 😊
