I insisted that my mom buy this phone (even though she didn’t like Mi phones because her friends had said some bad things about them). Despite her reservations, we bought it. I used to play PUBG for long periods of time, and this phone never lagged. Even after 2-3 years, there wasn’t any noticeable performance drop. The huge custom ROM support for this phone was phenomenal as well. It lasted for a solid 6 years, and the only reason it stopped working was because I accidentally dropped it from the 3rd floor.
Used this phone as a daily driver for 5 years and currently being used by my mom. It is still working fine af. Using a custom rom and therefore removing all the MIUI bloatware. After 5years only had to change the battery once. Excellent phone and easily one of the legends like the One Plus One, Redmi Note 3 etc..
M still using this device with 8gb+2656 gb with changed battery and rooting and Android 14 , and tbh its mind blowing how this device has hold up for years , i think even today if android provides unlocking bootloader then their hardware is far far better than iphones

When me and my ex used to play PUBG, we played like crazy during those time. We struggled with our Redmi 4X and I saved money to buy her a red pocofone F1. The happiness and excitement in her eyes were priceless! Those days.. life was simple and good.
I bought Poco F1 at the launch, and apart from it's battery change, it's still working as my backup phone. Also at front it has an IR camera which can be used ny Gcam.
This was the first phone I ever bought myself after actually seeing all the hype online. Beast of a phone man. I still miss the IR face unlock to this day.
Iam watching this video from my poco F1... it's been 5 years iam using this device as my daily driver... . I changed the battery once like 1 year ago i have no issues with daily task and even normal gaming..i still play pubg mobile daily with somewhat frame drops and all... Indeed a legendary phone
I used my Pocophone F1 'til the wheels fell off. I got a new phone because I started having signal issues, but I had it fixed and I gave it to a relative to use. I reckon it still has a good ten years of use (at the very least)
I still have it!!!! Been 6 years, but no other phone has ever been release yet with top specs and low price... Not only that, but the amazing face unlock now is not available on any phone
Damn... That era I started watching reviews because this phone. The next year was released the OnePlus 7 pro and it was just so magnificent... I miss those days 😢
The Poco F1 was actually quite common within South East Asia at the time of release. Sure it wasn't as common as the iPhone and Samsung phones but it definitely wasn't something unusual.
Currently using POCO F1 with A14 AOSP custom rom. Had to change battery once because bad charger. Camera with Gcam mod produces nice quality images with good colors and good enough sharpness(albiet, bit slower than you would want it to be)
The same happens in the hifi world. People reason wattage or price, yet low wattage tube amps win in the sound dept. hands down. Yet if you just blew north of 2K on junk it is hard to justify 😅
This was the first phone I bought entirely with my own salary, so I was on a budget. I don't take pictures very often, but I do game a lot on my phone, so I couldn't ask for a better model than this. Used it for 4+ years with zero regrets, and only replaced it when the battery began to give out. Absolutely phenomenal phone, made me a fan of Pocophones. Currently I use a Poco X6, and it is a very good phone, but the F1 was lightning in a bottle.
my f1 is the reason why i decided to get a poco f6 pro as it's replacement. even after all the issues you can read online with the newer poco's, i still trust the brand due to my f1. i'll see if this f6 pro will hold up like how the f1 did.
I remember when this was released. It was the phone that got me into looking into and comparing phones for the best value. It was also what introduced me to Xiaomi. I think I was one of those nerds.
Bro I am still using poco f1 and I am typing this massage on it . I buy it on 2019 after 3 year replace the battery . It is good phone but missing 5g now
I still use it but I got Xiaomi Redmi 14C for $15 as a promo which made me switch because the battery of the Poco F1 over 6 years of usage started falling down, it fell off my hand the 3rd day I bought it and had no problems, but after it fell off my hand for the second time after 6 years, after 3 days or so it had a yellow stain in the display, the apps and overall OS usage started becoming very laggy, sometimes the phone itself turned off and on for no reason, in cold climate I noticed it happened, the map didn't show me the correct position because probably GPS bug and so many more problems, which forced me ultimately to switch after 6 years!
My father used this phone for 2 years and then I used it for 3 years it was just amazing the whole time but would have hoped poco would have taken this approach moving forward but they just couldn't deliver the same price to performance
I also purchased Poco f1,,specially for gaming,,but after a year I upgraded to k20 pro(in 2020..which I'm still using with android 14)...the reason behind upgrade is screen burning issue of Poco f1..bt my bro still using Poco f1..awesome performance.

The huge custom ROM support for this phone was phenomenal as well. It lasted for a solid 6 years, and the only reason it stopped working was because I accidentally dropped it from the 3rd floor.
Ryan is just punishing me for asking too much about S10e now. : )
Geez, the golden era. I remember when i bought poco f1 it was very special for me. That phone is really fast, even can beat iphone 8 in some scenarios
Still an active user, recently replaced the battery.
Do have to change the screen as it got cracked, but works flawless and feels proud to use it.
Used to have one. Looking back at the phone, brings back nostalgia to me
this was my first non flagship phone with a flagship specs. truly the flagship killer. that f1 era was insane.
I still have this phone and its still alive! This $300 flagship killer in 2018 still even beating some midrange phones in 2024.
still rocking one, no issues ever till this day!
the fact that it can still run hyper os while maintaing the same performance is just so crazy
And paired with gcam....still one of the best camera 🔥
I used the Poco F1 for like a year and its a very nice phone.
M still using this device with 8gb+2656 gb with changed battery and rooting and Android 14 , and tbh its mind blowing how this device has hold up for years , i think even today if android provides unlocking bootloader then their hardware is far far better than iphones
You should showcase poco x3 pro next XD the deadboot phone where even poco ignores that and btw sd card slot and headphone jack are mostly removed on flagships phone nowadays
When me and my ex used to play PUBG, we played like crazy during those time. We struggled with our Redmi 4X and I saved money to buy her a red pocofone F1. The happiness and excitement in her eyes were priceless! Those days.. life was simple and good.
back when Poco was still booming and i fell in love with it
now it's just regular, ad-filled Xiaomi phones with small price cuts
I bought Poco F1 at the launch, and apart from it's battery change, it's still working as my backup phone.
Also at front it has an IR camera which can be used ny Gcam.
used it for a year had ghost touch but it was a beast 845 on that price range so many features with fast fingerprint and face id
This was the first phone I ever bought myself after actually seeing all the hype online. Beast of a phone man. I still miss the IR face unlock to this day.
Watching ur video on my poco f1...still works fine!❤
Its my 1st mobile
That face recognition is on next level with that red colour blinking sensor in ngts ❤
Iam watching this video from my poco F1... it's been 5 years iam using this device as my daily driver... . I changed the battery once like 1 year ago i have no issues with daily task and even normal gaming..i still play pubg mobile daily with somewhat frame drops and all... Indeed a legendary phone
I used to have it and it got water damaged beyond repair. I miss it a lot.
I've used Poco F1 for two years. It never felt outdated to me, even the camera was enough for my needs.
Damn... That era
I started watching reviews because this phone.
The next year was released the OnePlus 7 pro and it was just so magnificent...
I miss those days 😢
Had this one before owning the iphone 13 i still miss its camera with gcam photos from this one were amazing and the performance was spot on
My poco F1 died after almost 5 years of use and was reborn again as the new Poco F6
can you tell me reason it died cuz im still using mine for almost 6 years and still everything good expect battery life
Beating OLED screen is impossible currently, until there is better cheaper screen technology, OLED will be the ultimate viewing experience
The Poco F1 was actually quite common within South East Asia at the time of release. Sure it wasn't as common as the iPhone and Samsung phones but it definitely wasn't something unusual.
My dad still uses this phone to this day. I've installed a Custom ROM on it and I update it occassionally
And all those years later, I am still using the Phone...
My friend has that phone. Still using it to this day without any issues.
Currently using POCO F1 with A14 AOSP custom rom. Had to change battery once because bad charger. Camera with Gcam mod produces nice quality images with good colors and good enough sharpness(albiet, bit slower than you would want it to be)
I gave this phone to my maternal grandfather and it is still working super well with a custom ROM pixel experience Android 11
The same happens in the hifi world.
People reason wattage or price, yet low wattage tube amps win in the sound dept. hands down.
Yet if you just blew north of 2K on junk it is hard to justify 😅
The bestest part of the POCO F1 is the plastic back, which means I was able to replace the battery by myself without sending it to a shop.
Looking for a secondary phone and i'm interested in some good old smartphones that are still relevant in 2024
A suggestion:
Mi 11x / POCO F3 / Redmi K40 (they're all the same device)
I still remembered how it won MKBHDs blind camera test
my f1 is the reason why i decided to get a poco f6 pro as it's replacement. even after all the issues you can read online with the newer poco's, i still trust the brand due to my f1. i'll see if this f6 pro will hold up like how the f1 did.
Currently watching this with my poco F1 Which i buyed at 2019 and still runs smoothly.
I never got the chance to try the F1 but I got an F6 a few months ago and I'm really happy
You forgot the F1 winning the mkbhd blind camera test (or was it 2nd place, Im not 100% sure)
And they maintained this legacy with Poco F6 which comes with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and LPDDR5x RAM and USF 4.0 storage under $300
Ryan I just want to say I love the videos and I love coming to watch every video and seeing your subrciber count grow everytime
It is good phone but missing 5g now
I still use my Poco F1, really good phone only needs a new battery and works pretty well.
I currently own the poco f6, I got it for the same price as the poco f1 8gb variant that I got back then. It carries the legacy quite well.
I also purchased Poco f1,,specially for gaming,,but after a year I upgraded to k20 pro(in 2020..which I'm still using with android 14)...the reason behind upgrade is screen burning issue of Poco f1..bt my bro still using Poco f1..awesome performance.
Mine lasted for years, it was the best secondary phone that I had when I go out drinking.
I bought it at launch and its working till now just changed the battery one tym by myself ❤poco f1
Can you believe it i am watching it in poco f1. I bought it when it was launched later 2 years ago i bought a iphone so i have my poco f1 as a secondary device and even today it's working properly and i love it. For 6 years it is working properly my iphone will not last long this much what i feel.
i had this poco f1 for almost 3 years beast at that time sad to see how smartphone market has changed most of them are pricy with nothing much in it now
