This song makes me escape reality for 3 minutes. It really is 'music or madness' for me. This song touches my soul like no other, it reminds me that there is more to life than the anxiety of the present and that you will get through whatever you are facing, because you've been 'there before' and you will continue to grow, love and heal
Lyrics So whether music or madness We live by one of the two By one of the two So go on, fill your heart up with gladness Not a moment too soon Not a moment too soon Should we ration the reasons To the child to ignore Of this I've never been sure So I will follow the feeling And sing fever to the form Oh my fever to the form Fever to the form Fever to the form Cause the very thing you're afraid, afraid of It keeps you clean but unclear Clean but unclear Is the dirt that you're made, you're made of And that's nothing to fear No, it's nothing my dear But how do I know what you're thinking Maybe I thought it before Maybe that's why I'm at your window Hear me at your door Singing give me some more Oh fever to the form Won't you hear me at your door Singing give me some more Cause you were never empty And we've been here before Yes, we've been here before But now there's always plenty Yet still we ask for more Singing fever to the form
@@geneabaker3003 yeah, some sites tell it's "choose the charts to ignore", also some sites say "Lived by one of the two" on the second line instead of "we live by one of the two", it's a total different expression, but mostly accurate haha
i was in the Caribbean when i found this song, going thru a divorce. it reminded me that none of my love has to end just because the relationship had to. I will always love my wife even if I can never see her again. Music has the beautiful ability to pull hard emotions from us that we NEED to work on and make the process a little less painful.
Imagine writing something this beautiful. A song that transcends it's composite parts of melody, lyrics and rhythm, to reach some higher emotional plane. I remember hearing Nick play live for the first time, unforgettable.
i found this gorgeous, diamond, heart soul of a song becuase i acted in the new Quaker commercial called ' you've got this' and they used this song.... its fucking beautiful. being a poet myself, the words hit me like a bulldozer in the soul. and having come across this song in such a powerful and natural way, of serendipiti. with a huge accomplishment like being in a worlwide advert... its special. thanks Nick. keep bringing on that fever to the form.
First mind was the sound of my spring/summer 2014. Saw him at Bestival - walked into his afternoon set at that strange time between recovering and reflecting on the previous night's antics and starting it all over again. Seeing him bring all these tracks to life in front of me and 5,000 others was incredible. The tent was by no means full and half way through my friends and I sat way up at the back, near the sound techs, and just watched all those people enchanted by Nick's music in the warm glow of that sunny September afternoon. It was a beautiful moment. Saw him again in my home city playing to about 100 people but I don't think anything will recapture the magic of that afternoon. So glad more people are discovering his music and giving him the exposure he deserves. Outstanding artist; hoping his follow-up album delivers.
For me, between music and madness, the author chooses the music, the art, the form. And to achiev the art in its full potency, it is necessary to burn in fever and sweat a lot. The art talks to him: “give me some more”, “you were never empty”! And he keeps creating and burning in fever till he reaches the perfect and clear form. And he got it! :) The song is perfect!!
'fever to the form' doesn't seem to mean anything to me especially. but it sounds right. feels nice. feels nice to appreciate something i don't know the meaning of.
Probably three of my favourite artists ahaha try Jose Gonzales, two door cinema club, bombay bicycle club and Mighty oaks for some more alternative ones too
Being Charlie was such an amazing movie. Definitely underrated. Nick Robinson did a excellent job with his role. Quite an emotional ride of a struggling teenager. And this song basically summed up all the emotions at the end of the movie.
I just wanna thank Spotify for letting me discover this amazing artist ugh I love this song so much. I love you even more Nick. Why did I just discover you now?!
This harmonious melody, a portal to escape, For three fleeting minutes, reality's landscape. A sanctuary where music and madness align, In its rhythmic embrace, my soul aligns. Touching depths within, no other can compare, Stirring emotions, laying my heart bare. Beyond present anxieties, it unveils the truth, Life's grand tapestry, laden with proof. Like a guiding beacon, it whispers in my ear, Reminding me gently, I've conquered my fear. From the depths of despair to where I now stand, The journey unfolds, an intricate strand. Each note a reminder of love's boundless might, A salve for wounds, setting all things right. Through trials and tribulations, I've passed before, In this symphony of life, I shall grow evermore. With healing cadence, it paints hope on the air, Enveloping my being, showing me I care. In this song's refuge, I'll forever abide, As it lifts me, inspires me, and remains by my side.
Every note resonates deeply within my soul, igniting a fire that no other song can. It serves as a poignant reminder that life extends beyond the burdensome anxieties of the present.
I first heard this track the morning just after the Paris attacks; I had stayed in a residence with many foreign students for a while. I was outside, coming back from some shopping, heard this, and noticed so many French flags layed on each window, proving how all of us were showing solidarity against the horrible event that had happened the night before. I have never felt such an uplifting moment after something tragic! It was like getting a massive hug!
What a perfection of a song, touches the soul so deeply, so poetic! What do you guys think about the meaning of it? For me it's about creativity, inspiration, being lost and then found, about falling in love with the process and trusting your intuition, about letting go. It could also be about love for someone, but I think I prefer if it's more than just that.
Increible.
I probably never would have heard this beautiful piece of music if it hadn't been for an interview with Benedict Cumberbatch. He stated it was one of his current favorite songs. So thank you, Ben!!
this is incredible live. I saw him in an old theatre in Edinburgh, and his voice filled the room and made you shiver. I don't feel like this recording does his talent enough justice. Go and see him wherever you can, he's so brilliant live.
This hit's me. Something about it. I don't know what it is. Mulvey's voice is just so elegant and flowing. Brilliant track from a brilliant album. This guy's going to be massive.

Puppy love movie brought me here (good movie) but I really like this song 🎶
I don't know whether to smile or cry when I hear this.
This is perfection
I do both :)
Smile or Cry ? Thats what classical music does to me
IMO, this song had similar energy with Oh Wonder - Without You, but with more tempo
Smile and cheer
It s so cool when you find someone who shares the same feelings about this song !!

Lyrics
So whether music or madness
We live by one of the two
By one of the two
So go on, fill your heart up with gladness
Not a moment too soon
Not a moment too soon
Should we ration the reasons
To the child to ignore
Of this I've never been sure
So I will follow the feeling
And sing fever to the form
Oh my fever to the form
Fever to the form
Fever to the form
Cause the very thing you're afraid, afraid of
It keeps you clean but unclear
Clean but unclear
Is the dirt that you're made, you're made of
And that's nothing to fear
No, it's nothing my dear
But how do I know what you're thinking
Maybe I thought it before
Maybe that's why I'm at your window
Hear me at your door
Singing give me some more
Oh fever to the form
Won't you hear me at your door
Singing give me some more
Cause you were never empty
And we've been here before
Yes, we've been here before
But now there's always plenty
Yet still we ask for more
Singing fever to the form
Julia Mehr thanks although I know most the words I can sing along now thanks you beautiful woman xx
