“Is the dirt that you’re made of, that’s nothing to fear, no it’s nothing my dear. But how do I know what you’re thinking, baby I’ve felt it before.” 🙏♥️
I first heard this song on the film ‘I used to be famous’; and since then I have been addicted to it. I lost my father just under a year ago and it makes me think of him so much, especially when he sings about ‘that’s why I’m at your window’, it chokes me up. I miss him so much and hadn’t seen him in about 18 months before he passed and I feel so guilty about that. Although he was cremated and we don’t have a memorial there I still go and just sit by myself and play this song, hoping he knows that I’m by his window. Miss you Dad.
I listen to this song over and over, it has been the rhythm of my life for years! it creates memories of love and friendships. Thank you Nick, for making my life more beautiful;)
+le bruit des graviers it's true man. the way the camera shifts in and out of focus, as they trade glances and snatch glimpses of each other is incredible. at first i thought they were kinda strangers playing together and going through this crazy intense flirtation. then someone told me that is his wife. and the whole thing takes on a different meaning, like a lifelong love affair and marriage and music and radness all condensed into four minutes and twelve seconds. his look to her at 3:08 kills me. so good. chapeau, whole thing is so sick.
really love this version. And while its very different from his work in Portico Quartet it strangely gives me the same feeling of melancholic happiness about feeling being moved by music that his songs as Knee deep in the North Sea gave me as well. Thanks a lot, Nick :)
wow I found out about this song last night while listening to a Patrick watson channel on spotify. when this song came on goosebumps from head to toe. Bravo great song I can't get enough.
What a special song idk this one just made my day. Heard it before but was never able to find the name of it and I am so glad that I found it back now!
So Whether music or madness Live by one of the two By one of the two Go on, fill your heart up with gladness Not a moment too soon Not a moment too soon Should we ration the reasons To the charts that ignore Of this I've never been sure So I will follow the feeling And sing fever to the form Oh my fever to the form Fever to the form Fever to the form Cos' the very thing you're afraid, afraid of It keeps you clean but unclear Clean but unclear Is the dirt that you're made, you're made of And thats nothing to fear No, its nothing my dear How did I know what you're thinking Maybe I thought it before Maybe that's why I'm at your window Hear me at your door Singing give me some more Oh fever to the form Won't you hear me at your door Singing give me some more Cos' you were never empty And we've been here before Yes, we've been here before But now theres always plenty Yet still we ask for more Singing fever to the form
Fantastic doesn't cut it. For me the best version of this track. This has a special vibe. I can't stop playing it. I swear there's a micro second of delay on the guitar going down to end riffs...it matters nothing to me and anyway I'm usually wrong. I love the pause
+Oliver Cantor i have to agree with you man this has to be the best rendition there is something just so soulful about this version i swear nick mulvey is a sage

Dont give a fuck wat people think. This song is amazing. Its tears apart and makes me happy. Nick I don't know where this came from but it makes sense ♥️
This song inspired me on so many levels. Made me ask many questions from the meaning of life to whether art can help make sense of life. And obviously, what does Mulvey even mean by "fever to form". I wrote my take on it on a post. Would love to get responses. bit.ly/1SwhHRs
there's a podcaset by Tapenotes with him and his producer Dan Carey where they talk in detail about the song, breakdown the multi-track recording and he explains the title. It's a great listen.

This is easily the best version of "Fever To The Form" I've heard. You guys nailed this
Isadora Tanner is the female singer. Gorgeous, images so close, so imtimate, stunning song, never boring, still exciting after a 100 times.
Dennis Pereboom I couldn't agree more.
Now Isadora Mulvey since they got married
Ha, 100 times?
100 times....hold my tea
NO I'M NOT CRYING
I am...
It's just raining on my face
This was me and my gf's (ex) song. And now I can't listen to it without shedding tears.
This song speaks directly to my soul.
goes without saying the song is incredible, but chapeau to the cameraman, it's a fucking prize winning short film in itself!
+Dropthebeatonit Thanks man.

+le bruit des graviers Could you organise a duet with Natalie Prass and Nick Mulvey?
Oh I'd love to, but this is more about management's work than just me asking for it...
ah fair enough. Good work anyhow (y)
Listening to this fills my soul with sweet unending joy. Thank you to the creators.
"Cause you were never empty
And we've been here before"❤️🔥

So Whether music or madness
Live by one of the two
By one of the two
Go on, fill your heart up with gladness
Not a moment too soon
Not a moment too soon
Should we ration the reasons
To the charts that ignore
Of this I've never been sure
So I will follow the feeling
And sing fever to the form
Oh my fever to the form
Fever to the form
Fever to the form
Cos' the very thing you're afraid, afraid of
It keeps you clean but unclear
Clean but unclear
Is the dirt that you're made, you're made of
And thats nothing to fear
No, its nothing my dear
How did I know what you're thinking
Maybe I thought it before
Maybe that's why I'm at your window
Hear me at your door
Singing give me some more
Oh fever to the form
Won't you hear me at your door
Singing give me some more
Cos' you were never empty
And we've been here before
Yes, we've been here before
But now theres always plenty
Yet still we ask for more
Singing fever to the form
Takes a stand to the incredible this song. Thank you.

Genuinely don’t understand why people give music like this a thumbs down, defies logic.

+Pack the Story it's about the sensation songwriters feel when putting lyrics on paper, working on it, improving it...That's my guess...
I think it's fever to the "human" form, a desire, love for a person.
there's a podcaset by Tapenotes with him and his producer Dan Carey where they talk in detail about the song, breakdown the multi-track recording and he explains the title. It's a great listen.
