Thats exactly what it feels like. Only now add.. I forget what I'm saying/thinking and it's driving me insane.
What I know is things that were traumatic to me after tbi I remember pretty much on the money.. but everyday life remembering is a challenge.

I was involved in a car accident as a toddler and suffered a head injury.
I've had 3 concussions playing football.
2 head injuries from doing stupid stunts
    2 concussions doing MMA
    1 concussions from a fight
2 concussions after being jumped by gang members
1 TBI from a 50 mph car accident, in which I hit a dump truck head on totalling my car.
It's a wonder my brain even still works. If it were not for CBT training, neuroplastic training, fish oil, ginkgo biloba, gotu kola, BDNF increasing supplements, and neuroprotective/bioenergetic supplements, I'd be in serious trouble! My memory was so bad at one point, I would forget my car keys 15 times in one day. I couldn't remember meals I had just ate or what I was getting ready to do. After doing the above treatments, about 80% of my memory has been restored. My only concern now is lack of working memory. I also still struggle with a little anterograde amnesia, but it has significantly improved.

Hi warrior, I was hoping to learn more about treatments and doses you took that you found the most helpful. Over the years I've had some concussions but the icing on the cake was a tbi about a year and a half ago, since then it's been a daily struggle. I hope you are keeping well and if you have time to talk about this I would appreciate it.

Ginkgo biloba: 120mg daily vitamin shoppe brand. Standardized to 24% glycosides and 6% terpene lactones. Must have these two for their cognitive enhancing effects and cerebral blood flow
Sports Research's fish oil: 3gm (or 3 capsules) of EPA/DHA daily. As you know the brain is made of omega 3s, particularly DHA.
Swanson vitamins gotu kola extract: 2 caps daily. Works similar to ginkgo.
BDNF (brain derived neurotrophic factor) increasing supplements:
Lithium orotate: 3-5mg daily. Lithium is shown to increase BDNF significantly. BDNF is the starting material for new neurons in the brain. Lithium increases brain volume by 1% percent in just a couple of weeks. It also helps the left & right hemispheres communicate properly.
Noopept: 10mg daily. Noopept is shown to increase BDNF
      Neuroprotective supplements:
Natrol's alpha lipoic acid. 100mg. ALA is an antioxidant shown to protect the nervous system from oxidative damage, including in the kidneys and brain.
CoQ10, Target brand: 200mg daily. CoQ10 is one of the most powerful antioxidants. I know there are studies showing ubiquinol to be superior and glutathione to be better, but IMO CoQ10 works best for protecting the nervous system.
      Bioenergetic supps:
Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ): 10mg daily. PQQ increases mitochondrial density of cells, allowing them to create energy (ATP) more efficiently. Because of this, neurons are able to live their life cycle longer, without early cell death.
Nicotine adenine dinucleotide (NADH). 5-10mg daily by Source Naturals or NOW Nutrition. Source Naturals IMO is superior and you can feel the effects on cognition. NADH is the reduced form of vitamin B3, niacin. It helps the brain with energy production.
Vitamin B1 (thiamine). 300-500mg daily. B1 helps the nerves in the brain utilize glucose. Many times after a TBI and Wernicke's encephalopathy (alcoholic brain injury) the brain has a difficult time uses glucose. B1 can help here. It's even a prescribed treatment for alcoholics.
I would take ALL of these supplements if I were you. But, if you are on a limited budget, here are some options, starting with most effective to most effective with the bare minimum.
      Option 1: take all supplements
Options 2: ginkgo, lithium, fish oil, CoQ10, noopept, B1, NADH
Option 3: ginkgo, fish oil, lithium, CoQ10, B1.
I will not recommend omiting any further than option 3 or you'd be seriously shortchanging yourself.
BTW, I'm doing very well. Would be even better if I stayed away from inflammatory foods... Lol

I all of a sudden 3 years after a car accident developed seizures and memory problems that feel like I have advances althimersz I forget where I out the keys after I open the car and get in. I put them in weird places like the door console or my backpack. I can't seem to recall any knowledge I so carefully and dutifully learned as a child. I cant recall facts but can all of a sudden do math pretty darn well dance really well and can coriograf a dance, I also became clically depressed my personality changed from a outdoor fanatic that would backpack alone for 20 miles to a couch potato TH-cam loving person. I have not owned a TV since 2011 yet now I am obsessed with it. It is really hard building a new personality I still try to so the things I used to love like camp but I hate it so much so so much

I bounced back after six weeks with very slight attention memory problems and loss of smell through damage to my olfactory nerve. The Neurology team, although fantastic, were treating me like I was never going to recover and recommend I didn’t go back to work when I wanted to, which was three months afterwards but I did and I’m still going strong.
