Here in New York you have the extra step of the airline calling the port authority police to inspect your gun and permit as well. Just a heads up…plus never say your staying in New York with your pistol, your only “passing through” under federal law
I don’t know who else needs to hear this but a Savior Specialist bag (51 in) fits perfectly inside a Pelican Vault. While it is a heavy combo, it’s a way to meet the hard case requirement with a versatile bag.
That looks like the larger pelican 1750? I was told that any given case can’t exceed 62 linear inches (L+W+H) any information on this? I wanted to get a larger case so I did not have to beak guns down however those cases would not fall under 62” thank you.
By the time we got through the 3 airports I was thinking I wish I would have used a lodge gun But when I had a chance to shoot the 14 point bull I was happy I had my 300 rum and one shot and done
so im planning a trip to arizona to visit my sis and her new husband and im wanting to take my guns this time. ordered a hard case big enough for my ar and 2 handguns i want to take. im just worried abt the ammo bc i have a few hundred rounds of 556 im wanting to take but i bought it bulk so its all just in an ammo box that seals up lose and idk if they will accept that or not. and dont want to have to buy ammo there bc itll be expensive af to shoot by the box
You seem to be forgetting a rule. And this actually came up with John Correa in Detroit. They wanted to check his guns back in the secure area and were asking him to provide them his key, that is a violation of federal law. He is not to allow anyone to have his key without him being with it. And after a few minutes of discussion about it they finally let him go back because they wanted to check the firearms. They cannot check the Firearms unless you are present because you are the only person who supposed to have a key. Their key is not supposed to fit your locks when it's a firearm case. I never tell an officer that I am carrying a firearm. I always give him notice, as is required by law by handing him my concealed pistol license. You are in Most states required to notify them, at no time in Most states are you required to actually tell them.
Informing the police immediately is the law in the state of Ohio. I immediately hand them my license and CCW and then ask how he would like to proceed. Be extremely polite and follow directions.
Do I need to declare ammunition in my checked baggage to the people that take your luggage or can I just label it and have it in my checked baggage the way its supposed to be stored?
Definitely keys! Technically if you have a combination lock and they need to search it they could require you to give it to them, and then you aren’t the only one with access. Conversely, with a key they give it back to you after the search. On a side note prepare yourself for an interesting experience if traveling through phoenix’s Sky Harbor airport.
I just went moose hunting in Is Newfoundland Air Canada is the most incompetent airline out there Every airport had different requirements We had to open our gun Cases and show them at the airport have them approved sign different kinds of paperwork at each Airport Except one airport said you got your baggage tags on there you're good to go we don't need anything So check ahead on what the regulations are for the country Make sure you have plenty of time between flights And a lot of patience to deal with staff that do not know what they are doing We ran into some other guys going through the same thing we had to and they missed some flights Go to the unnecessary delays with firearms
HELP PLEASE: We just took a 2 day pistol class. The instructor told us when we fly home to be sure we don’t have any gunpowder residue if we get pulled aside by TSA. I plan to put the clothes we wore in our carry on bag. Do we need to wipe down our rental car seats and steering wheel before we go to the airport? How do we get the residue off our tennis shoes? We had zero issues flying here but now I’m a wreck about flying back home.
We fly home from shooting competitions and classes all the time - if they pull you aside, as long as you don't have any firearms or explosives or ammo on you, then you're good to go. Don't even sweat it :)

Not anymore they’ll arrest you on the spot asking why you didn’t fly from your state
@@WarrantTaskForceDE I’m talking about New York license holders

should always tell the cop first thing that you have a gun when pulled over. Better you tell them instead of them finding out.
What they did not mention about the locks are if they must be TSA approved also???
No, they do not….
Uh, what about the lock itself? Combination or key? Does the airline get a key/combo? Or is it a lock that you have to buy from the airline?
Only you should have the key and lock don’t use a TSA lock and don’t share the key or passcode unlock it for them when you declare the weapon.
