Last year, I got their new cd player mkV and It sounds incredible!!! The instrument separation and soundstage is superb, upscaled to 24bit 192kHz DAC. Highly recommend that one.
800W into 8 Ohm. Why? My own increasingly sarcastic reaction to these electronics company grows day by day. Most any electronics company can make, do make, really good amps. Mostly these days the extra cost is justified by industrial design, or elitism.
Sometimes the answer is "why not?". Mfgs used to make far more efficient speakers. For the prices charged nowadays, why not take that issue out of the equation. Plus, there's always a "bragging rights" element to amplifier power, so you can't blame mfgs for meeting a marketing demand.
It’s not exactly what it’s all about some hiend speakers really need the power and high damping factor that’s correlated with it to preform, i personality play with Scansonic HD 2.5b speakers, they play fine with a Hegel h90, but when you switch over to a Electrocompaniet aw 250r it’s a whole different game and you’ll hear a what you’ve bin missing out on

This is a great brand!!! In my personal opinion and experience, that’s the most tube sound like in a solid state amplifier. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
