I try to live though Doug with his reactions because i believe or know I’ll never. Ever. Be able to drive this car. Or most of the hyper cars he test drives. What a life
One thing I would like to note is that the Battista rolling chassis is made on the same line as the Nevera. So it has the same chassis, motors, inverters, battery, charger... It's a modern day coachbuild with custom software (no drift mode) Also watching the video, it is clear some interior parts are also the same. I don't see a reason why I'd buy this over the original (Nevera). You can either get a regular for slightly less with a better dealer network (I know, Rimac is a new player, but they have contracts with VW for NA and Bugatti/Porsche dealers), or you can get the R which is both better looking IMO and faster.
Im sure that some filthy-rich people will pick the Battista over the Nevera simply because of the looks. Or they made be buying the Battista because the original Nevera will be sold out at some point.
Doug is the type of guy who goes to Boston to see a Kansas concert and Kansas to see a Boston concert. His favorite song is "More than a feeling is just dust in the wind"
It does look like it, but a beautifuler version of the SF90, the Baptista is less fuzzy and the profile and the back are more beautiful. The general proportion are much better on the Baptista, the nose is longer and more proportionate, and the back of the car has also much more presence than the one on the SF90 (the rear light on the SF90 are really ugly for instance). Also, both of the car were reveled more or less at the same time back in 2019, so I do not think that one was copied on another...
to me, this truly is one of the most beautiful cars ever, easily slots in the top 20 somewhere, what a thing, I'm stunned at how beautiful it really is, only problem is EV though, I would LOVE for someone to buy one of these and convert it, get an NAV12 in there or something, then it would be a perfect car!
omg now i see what their main focus has been throughout history. And they wouldn't settle until they could make a car of their own. Absolutely incredibly fantastic. Wow.
It’s crazy to think that the Batista is what newer Ferraris could’ve looked like if they kept the design from them, it’s beautiful just a shame it’s electric
ICE is too slow now especially for supercars and hypercars. 88k Plaid beats anything ever made from Ferrari, McLaren, Lambo. 4680 Roadster = GAME OVER BABY! ⚡️🇺🇲
I love Doug road tests for all his videos, but this one felt like he should have called up some friends and gone to the track to give it more thorough test. Just a suggestion for future supercar / hypercar vids!
The Battista is built to order. That's probably an owner's car who agreed to let it be filmed. They'd be less likely to agree to a punishing track session.
Performance means nothing in electric cars, if they lack the emotion. I launched Tesla Plaid multiple times, which is about a 2 second 0-60 car too, and it left absolutely nothing in me. It only pushes your head back to the headrest and that's where it ends. I haven't had the slightest motivation to drive it ever again. On the contrary, any 4/5 second 0-60 gasoline cars I drove I still long for every week. Don't even have to mention how the 3 second ones leave you feel. High power is electric cars' only way how to make up for the lack of any feeling, at least on the paper. But in reality it still isn't making any difference.
Different strokes. I still think about the Lucid Air GT's acceleration months after I drove it. I'd much rather have the instant torque than wait for it in a gasoline car.
So at what point can we just say that a car has as much horsepower as we want to say it has? Does this car have 2000 horsepower? No, it has less than that. If a Miata video said it makes 250 horsepower, I'd be left scratching my head. Do we just say 2000 because it sounds cool or because it doesn't even make a difference at this point in making the car faster. If so, why not say it has 3000 horsepower? Or 5000?
@@DuyNguyen-uh6nyI think what he’s saying is what’s the point in high horsepower figures anymore? I mean can anyone realllly be blindfolded and tell the difference between 1000hp and 2000hp? I doubt it… Hp numbers now are just to flex they don’t really mean anything after 800hp.
@ what do you mean what’s hard to believe about that number? Other than that the manufacturer doesn’t even say it makes that much power? Nothing, I guess.

Every now an then, I watch Doug review a car that blows hm away and you can see it in his face when he drives it, and like muscle memory it reminds me to go watch, yet one more time, the driving part of his review of the BAC Mono from a couple of years ago. Makes me laugh EVERY TIME, it's priceless. Thank you Doug for all the fun, I hope you do it forever.
We want Pagani Utopia on the channel!! Please!
It took years for Douglas to get his first Pagani review
I don't remember exactly, but i think he has mocked Pagani a bit for being too similar or pompous or overpriced, something like that
@@guillermojperea6355 Doug is not reviewing press cars, or only in really rare occasions. So he can not be banned by a brand. The problem and the truth with the Utopia is that there are simply a handful around and Doug, most of the time waits for an owner to propose him to drive his car more than asking a random owner if he can borrow his car for a review.
Also that kind of review is reserved for the end of the year, so who know what we are going to see in December...
@@GenghisDaniel all that TOO, but there was some of what i mentioned too.
😍 Definitely
I'm using the OG zonda engine for my V12 supercar project 😎
Warms me that somebody who loves cars like Doug does gets to drive this--the smile at 26:05 is absolutely priceless.
I try to live though Doug with his reactions because i believe or know I’ll never. Ever. Be able to drive this car. Or most of the hyper cars he test drives. What a life
You guys can keep your flashy v12 Bugatti, give me the Battista!
V12 Bugatti?? 🥴
Stop... Just stop 😔
I prefer the look of the Battista over the Nevera
What happened to the McLaren Speedtail on the Doug score?! That beat out the SP3 by one point back when you reviewed it? We need an explanation !
Doug: "The SPEED is unbelievable!" (speedometer: 58 mph)
Seeing Doug sitting there... awesome. Like in a fighter jet. Then he accelerates and it IS like a fighter jet.
most under rated car. looks amazing
9:23 Doug casually hiding the biggest flex 1/150 my gosh oh gollies
Doug ripping it up on the mean streets of Irvine
I'll never forget their best design. The Hyundai Matrix.
Lol
So if the battery dies you won’t be able to open the boot to get your charger to charge it up?
You don't get it. It's a 3M car... So if the battery dies you just open
Wait
One thing I would like to note is that the Battista rolling chassis is made on the same line as the Nevera. So it has the same chassis, motors, inverters, battery, charger... It's a modern day coachbuild with custom software (no drift mode)
Also watching the video, it is clear some interior parts are also the same.
I think this is uglier then the Nevera, looks too much like a modern Ferrari.
Im sure that some filthy-rich people will pick the Battista over the Nevera simply because of the looks. Or they made be buying the Battista because the original Nevera will be sold out at some point.
I doubt anyone who buys something this expensive will ever sit in a dealership. They have people to handle getting the car to/from the dealership.
I mean, you're being too picky. I'd take either 😂
@jamesengland7461 fair 🤣
Dave Battista's very own EV hypercar!
Hahaha
Baaaaaaaaaateeeeeeeeeessssssstaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Bautista.
He's got that kind of money.
For such a fancy car from such a manufacturer, I’m surprised the windows don’t lower all the way. One of my biggest pet peeves is
Doug is the type of guy who goes to Boston to see a Kansas concert and Kansas to see a Boston concert.
His favorite song is "More than a feeling is just dust in the wind"
Unoriginal. Stupid comment. Dead meme used by this channel’s lowest IQ and most pathetic viewers. You aren’t humorous nor relevant. Grow up.
🔥🔥🔥 Doug, I think it's about time to start giving us a Front View Camera when driving, so we can also appreciate the Speed too 😢
“What gear you are in” Doug’s subconscious wanting a manual… 13:52
Damn GTA V cars are real now.
Am i the only one seeing the SF90 alot in this?
Cool factor just 8? What?!?!
Electric
Similar to Ferarri. Not standing out thaaaat much.
If you are at a swanky bar and boast to a glamour model half your age that you are driving a ... _Pininfarina_ they will look at you blankly.
My Grampa had a suit made from that headrest fabric in the 90s 😂
Its called "pied de poule"
Houndstooth pattern.
omg now i see what their main focus has been throughout history. And they wouldn't settle until they could make a car of their own. Absolutely incredibly fantastic. Wow.
I know what a Battista is they serve me coffee at my coffee shop
I don't even care it's an EV. This car is a work of art
Except the used steering wheel
Doug always enthusiastically shills screen only functions in crazy cars like these. Even though we know he hates them.
Dougcember has begun!!
Has it??
You sure
I would say so😂
An electric car that goes fast? Wow, didn’t see that coming.
Thanks for the review, I was undecided. 😊
$2.5 million for an electric car that is built on another car's platform seems unreasonable. Curious to see how this holds its value long term...
Can we talk about the amazong exterior design damn
Even though it kinda looks like a Ferrari I think it looks better than one
the smaller cupholder looks Redbull sized.
Nay, that's for a grappa ;)
Thought that also
Italy, where everything starts? I’ll bet there are a lot of Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Ferrari drivers out there that would beg to differ.
What do you mean?
Amazing review! The only thing that bothers me is the interior, at least on video it doesn't look like 2.5M, makes a Pagani look like a bargain 😂
My only experience with a Pininfarina was when I was sowing a button onto my sweater and accidentally dropped my needle into my cream of wheat.
Eh, nice try.
🤦♂️
I love Doug road tests for all his videos, but this one felt like he should have called up some friends and gone to the track to give it more thorough test. Just a suggestion for future supercar / hypercar vids!
insurance
They probably wouldn’t let him
@@beanapprentice1687 great point. Not without a "designated driver" anyway 😂😂
The Battista is built to order. That's probably an owner's car who agreed to let it be filmed. They'd be less likely to agree to a punishing track session.
Jeeessh, all these hyper cars all look alike. Were I ever to plunk that much $$ into a car, it better be different!
Tesla Plaid terms of engine reliability still some distance behind even Supra RZ.
Or 5000?
What's so hard to believe about that number? The Tesla Plaid makes a 1000hp and costs 80k. I am surprised it doesn't make more than 2000hp.
Nothing, I guess.
he said nearly, please listen better
@@Megasteel32 The title says, "With 2,000 Horsepower". Please learn to read.
Number 1 😮😮 that's a exclusive review
Just one more quirk, Pininfarina is now owned by the Indian Conglomerate, Mahindra Group.
They bought Pininfarina in 2015 and spun off Automobili Pininfarina to produce cars under its own brand name.
I like how Doug says "your" car as if "we" can afford it 😂
some of us can to be honest. i’m looking for my first hypercar right now after my selling my second super car. (even though im looking more on the entry level side of hypercars which this car is not) although, i technically could afford this if i really was obsessed with it enough.
Greatest car designer of all time
Yup. The F40 is the most beautiful car in the world.
I stopped watching after 0:30
Does it have a NACS port? How long will the battery last on the track when driving close to the max speed?
Its a rimac in a fancy italian outfit
So it’s the perfect car?
You lost me @ 2:07 tho
...another obscure, multi-million dollar electric car. yea, everybody loves those.
I recommend everyone to find the book titled The Elite Society's Money Manifestation, It changed my life.
The new corvette zr1 motor makes noise high top speed than this car and about the same 0 to 60 speed and super cheap compared to this I’ll take the vette
bot comment
@@User77989I would take the Vette too but there's no way it can do 0-60 as fast as an AWD EV with 1,900 HP.
There’s no reason this car is $2.5mil. Literally none. Not one single reason.
Wrong, to get as much money from oligarchs as possible.
If they can sell them all, that is enough reason. I bet they will.
This one is spec’d 2.9 Million
