Lockheed Martin unveils new F-21 fighter jet to be made in India
The company, which had earlier offered its F-16 fighter, has claimed that the F-21 fighter jet is specifically configured for the Indian Air Force and will strengthen India's path to an advanced airpower future.

I think we should go with rafele, because in future there will be easy to upgrade & maintenance problem will be solved. Otherwise we are seeing how the spare parts delivery problem come in su30 mki & mig29 k. Also dassault aviation working on new engine for rafele so that rafele becomes more dangerous in future wich will able to compite with 5th gen fighters.
There are some points to consider here:
1) firstly, whenever you put your money in a fighter, you also need to put a large amount of money into the weaponary which is compatible to the aircraft as well.. so if F-21 is considered, one should know you would also need to buy AMRAAM, AIM-9X in air to air segment along with other air to ground weapons (both are not yet operated by IAF), so you would be entirely dependent on US for it's weaponary unless they allow India to integrate indigenous weapons like Astra and/or licence produce these weapons here.
2) secondly, as already mentioned in the video it's also about the engine and radar. If they offer an x band AESA radar or an existing AESA on board F 35 along with a higher thrust engine which could make this aircraft supercruise, only then this could be considered as a strong contender.

We want an aircraft which will be built in India with tech. transfer. Gripen is made up of 67% foreign parts. Tech. transfer for Gripen won't be profitable for India. Moreover, Gripen is a single-engine aircraft, whereas IAF wants twin-engine aircraft.

Yes it is dual engine but it is a heavy aircraft and need long runway.
Personally I'll pick a Su27 or SU35 over an F15 anyday if it comes to dogfight, however service ceiling of F15 is better.
Also the fact being U.S. can't be trusted as it uses sanctions as form to violate trade agreements, we can't rely on U.S. for spare parts as they have no ethics.

Actually F-15,18 from now on in few years will be phased out but due to tactical bombing purpose it will stay in service in those nations Air Forces who didn't develop further air superiority fighter but Indian Tejas is one of the best aircrafts in 4th generation fighters

Once multi role Rafael fighter is commissioned,relevance of F-21 will be diminished. Besides the timing is interesting. LCA Tejas project is also advancing faster with the completion of Kaveri Engine works. French Government and Dassault are ready to contribute. F-21 with an old aircraft frame (F-16)and aerodynamics may not be the ideal choice. If there is money to spare, invest it on faster development of Tejas Mark-II, which is going to be the air craft of the future. SAAB Gripen with advanced electronic controls and scope for easy up gradation, is also a competitive option to try, since we cannot put all eggs in one basket. For the time being, major focus could be on Rafael& Tejas Mark-II. Once Kaveri Engines succeed fully, Tejas Mark-II will have big leap in production. Mig-29s are also there to fill in.

India already had single engine Tejas and Indian are making vast improvement and changes in the same. But the production is very slow as per the airforce requirements and for the single engine F-21 India should go,as we have Tata as a trusted partner who'll never compromise on quality. Gripen Saab fighter, single engine is also good with colboration of Sweden and Adani. India will become a manufacturing hub and this will be no burden on the government as the private sector is involved. India's dependibility on foreign will be less and will create more jobs for our scientists and engineers.
Yes sure. A 40-year-old aircraft with an extremely heavy wing loading and a weak engine for its weight. You guys should definitely have it, since Pakistan is planning to phase out the F-16 anyways. Perhaps you can buy Pakistani F-16s also. Enjoy them.

India is yet to learn the art of packaging & marketing the military hardware. Others in the West, do continuous orderly upgrading of fighter aircraft. Normally, a 'mod' board on the aircraft indicates the level of its modernity (as against its obsolescence) mostly in add-ons, but not the airframe. And we see the series of numbers. MiG 21 retained the same nomenclature while undergoing fast upgrading in (sub) systems. The airframe (largely) remained unchanged though. In the West, that could've resulted in the numbers changes. F-16, retained its nomenclature, though subjected to heavy upgrading in systems (in the bargain the LWF- Light weight fighter, put on excessive armament weight), because the success of the name. The proposed F-21 (I haven't read its vital specs) is largely a refurbished version of the modified F-16 (I presume block 70). The Bison (MiG21) too doesn't resemble the original MiG21, but displays a marked departure in systems. In survivability MiG21 still retains its bench mark. Yet the old design of airframe may not take up additional design changes. In a skilled pilot's hands its efficacy was proved recently, while F-16 suffered (was shot down) with a not-so-skilled pilot whose AAMRAM missed the mark.
In 1965 engagement with Pakistan, India fielded a lowly Folland 'Gnat' with minimal armament & less speed. Skilled pilots (Keeler bros.) Engaged it with the Korean war veteran F-86 'Sabre', at the end of its career. Both had skilled pilots. Yet, high maneuverability & low turning radius of Gnat, in its 'air interdiction' role scored significant hits. It even evaded the brand new, supersonic F-104 'Star' fighter, by diving in height. 'Star' fighter was said to be a rocket with a pilot, but not suited for low speed & dog fights (had a high turning radius) but for launching AA missiles st a distance. Americans watch keenly (like video games), all air engagemrnts globally & their designers go back to their drawing boards, after learning lessons from watching such air fights, as they did after watching the performance of Gnat, Sabre & Star (under powered, HF-24 'Marut' was put on ground attack role that it did well in shooting down tanks in Longowal sector). The designers aimed at 'Light weight', (and hence) 'High Agility' fighter for close combat / interdiction role. They gave the design to two competitors, Grumman & GeneralElectric, which produced YF-17 & YF-16, in which Y stands for 'expetimental' (X Y Z are designated for that). In turning radius, YF-16 displayed a tighter radius & so was chosen. It dropped Y & became F-16. The loser YF-17, was not less & was chosen by American Navy (the courth largest airforce in terms of aircraft), got transmogrified with extensive design changes as 'Cobra' and now being offered to India as F-18, as the basic design is right. Gnat is the notional (spiritual) father of F-16, as the same spirit is imbued in the latter. Under the demands of NATO member countries, for heavier bomb loads & armaments, with better engine of more thrust added, the aircraft put on weight as front line fighter, relagating close interdiction (CAP) role to the lighter F-5. The soon to be made in India, F-21 is its derivative, with lot of commonality, including some systems. Hence it is projected as one-to-one replacement albeit with better peformance & produced by India's cheap labour. Probably the engine is a secret.
