I have two additional tips to share which may help in beating 2BC. - Be patient. You have all the time in the world on this difficulty. Even if you just use your turrets/grenades to do their job, that's totally okay. Think about how you want to approach this enemy and have an escape route just in case it goes wrong. Don't forget about the Rally Points though. This tip is meant that if you land in a dangerous situation, just back out and fight in a place more comfortable to you. 2. Practice the bosses. It absolutely sucks losing a run to the Hand of the King, especially how rare of a chance you get. So go into the Practice Hall and spend your time practicing. In my clear I was "As long as I can make it to the Throne Room, I'm good.". And now, after I beat 2BC, two weeks later I got to 5BC. My current focus is to unlock things so I have more options available.
As a current 2BC player, thank you for sharing you experiences playing cuz the struggle is indeed real. Good to know someone could relate. Whenever I play, I always struggle getting the timing wrong on the enemy attacks only because I try so hard to get the 60door and it causes me to panic. And yes, it's part of learning, so just never give up! My closest run was always High Peak Castle and just die cuz i always try to not get hit for when I do the boss. Try not to pressure yourself too much in this game
I beat 0bc, then in the same day I beat 1bc, and I thought that I was good at the game or something (Even if at the end with the hand of the king I used the Mutation that gives you an extra life), and then 2bc became a nightmare, I just know how to use the quick bow with frozen synergy, and looking at it, is not that practical🤷🏽♂️. Glad that your tip is getting used to different builds, guess I need a lot of practice from now on👍🏽
Man no flex I swear but I just realised im actually good at this game. 😶 I beat 2 BC in the same day as 1 BC and I beat the Hand with a weapon with 1300 DPS too. Also I have never used revive mutation.

i won my first run in 2.5 hours. i got the "ice spell" and i was using the 2 swords that crit on 3rd hit. then i won 1bc in 5 hours of gameplay and i was like "am i cheating by using this build or what" and while to this day i think it's pretty handy because you don't even need to know what your enemy does, i now see that's just how people play this game anyway (?) when i stopped using this combo, for the first time i saw what some enemies even do XD especially the damn purple bird. i hate it xD

I would still recomend using custom mode if you want to. Its great to practice with specific items and try out synergies. The key is just to switch through the colours and try new items. Or old ones that you thought sucked. The great thing about deadcells are the patches. The items stay dynamic and change so it is allways worth trying out old items.
One thing I like to do in custom mode that I felt like improved my skill level was doing a sort of exercise/training run with the cursed sword. It makes you think a lot more about strategy and concentration, and it improves your reaction timing.
it's mainly just for fun, it's a good way to let of steam when your burnt out on normal progression. but that's exactly what you are giving up with custom mode. progression. and learning to make the best with what your given is a part of getting better at the game. if you get to used to getting exactly what you want. then you'll end up causing yourself more frustration when returning to the normal mode. if dead cell's is a boiling pot of water, that takes along time to get used the temp. then custom mode is like jumping into a cold pot, it's resetting your tolerance, it might feel good while your in there. but it's going to make getting back in the boiling pot that much harder.
Tipp: Use the homunculus rune attack to kill weak or flying enemies from a distance (like rats) or weaken stronger enemies. Just be carefull for enemies like grenadiers or inquisitors.
I play the game for about 2 months now and managed to get to 2 BC. But 2BC is REALLY much harder than the ones before. I really struggle in melee combat. I try to do survival runs with a shield, but I dont like the slow weapons. You tap the attack button once with bad timing and the monster streak is gone. Quite frustrating. Maybe I'm too old for this game at 41 🤣 nice guy though. Keep it up. You got sub.

I finished dead cells mobile in just a month, started around July 2 and finished on July 29 with 70 runs being 71 my King 5BC route to finish, thanks to your tutorials i learned fast and learned quickly with my mistakes. I spended most of my time on Daily Challenges and on the tutorial, not wanting to messed up and trying to keep the Runs as low as possible. About taking breaks yes, i tooked ALOT of breaks when im doing my runs, i do a biome/a boss then after that i take a break before i transition to the next level, finishing my 1st Collector fight with just about 26 Brutality WAS HELL for me, and after that run it hit me with this realization of how important Scrolls are, did another with the kings body route right after and probably ended with about 35+ brutality, the Boss became a breeze and biomes where easy to clear. Always take the risk with Cursed chests and extra biomes, they are ESSENTIAL and you will regret not taking them.
And about not buying from shops in the early game id suggest that buying an item or ability that you would like to stick to the whole game, the game prioritizes on giving you the same item you have, either a better tier or not or with a different affix. For ex: me buying Light speed & Phaser early game, it is more likely I’ll encounter them in drops and shops in the run, finding better prefixes and upgrades along the way. Hoping they’d drop later on the run after sticking to the item you had it is less likely you’ll encounter them again.
I thought I was the only one. The game is quite challenging, especially to new players wanting to acquire the 1st Boss Cell. I tried so hard I could not get it, so I broke away from the game for a long time, just like you. And then, by accident, I watched a video on TH-cam showing that I could actually CHOOSE my starting items via THE TUBES. After so many failed attempts, I finally got 1st Boss Cell yesterday! What a relief! I really like it when you suggest "playing with different items each run" and "never give up". Those 2 are are what Dead Cells is all about. I will definitely try more. Started the game day before yesterday, completed 1bc yesterday and now going to complete 2bc today , the game is challenging and easy if u understand the mechanics , loved it
I've also been stuck in 2bc and until I saw this video I've gotten either no answers or very unhelpful ones despite asking many times on steam, reddit, and discord.
I beat 1bc in an incredibly cheesy way, I found a symmetrical lance that had a 300% damage bonus affix that meant it was doing roughly 30k damage and 43k with crit. I found it at the beginning of high castle keep and was able to 1 shot or almost 1 shot everything there. Then I beat the hand in about 35 seconds with it. I have a feeling I won't be as lucky this time.
I bought this game when it first came out and am still in 1BC. Granted i tend to play in fits and spurts but im now trying to conquer that level and hearing 2BC is tough worries me. Good vid, thanks.
just go extremely slow and think how you will kill the monsters before you go on their platforms... with the health you get between levels in 1BC, you really can make so many mistakes and still progress...
After having this game since Early Access, it's only after watching this video have I started to make real progress. Slowing down, and being strategic made a huge difference. Great video!! 👍

Got into 3BC because my build had good synergy: Pyrotechnics (30% to a slow target) Tesla coil (40% to burning target) Crusher (spreads oil and slow) Parry shield with oil spread Full YOLO, Gastronomy, Hunters instinct. Usually i'd avoid the crusher or pyrotechnics but it worked for that 2BC run.
I was hardstuck in 1BSC for YEARS. Only now with castlevania I could beat it through "the bat". Not even a week later I beat the hand with 2BSC and finally got my tube upgrade xD
This guide might really help me heat 2bc, I put the game down for a while since I got bored and am just today trying to pick it back up again, I honestly didn't realize some of the stuff you said in this video (I was kinda confused before about what the recovery skill said about having an increased window to get health back but now I know what it's referring to)

@@Salmonwithfeet Hi there! It depends tbh. It's not only due to how "strong" a weapon is solely, but also to its functionality. For example, I love brutality weapons because thery're fast and... well, brutal. That being said, is kinda cool to one shot some enemies, though i t's subjective
I feel like the thing with 2bc for me is how it feels easier than how it actually is, for example every time I play a run, when I die I think "come on, you know you shouldn't have died to that" but in reality, it really is very difficult and it took time to realize that.
about the custom mode, i wanted to say i learned that the baseball bat is the most broken, and wanted to always build it and beat the game that way. until i got a good L tier weapon and picked it up, shortly after i realised it was much better than the baseball bat, and i even managed to get my second boss cell with that weapon it was legendary electric whip with +75% dmg to rooted, i had a bear trap, and i had a face flask and vengeance synergy after that, the result was that my face flask and bear traps had the blueish flames, i was perma burning bosses, and dealing pretty big dmg with all these buffs and synergies
My personal rule was to do what was fun even if it feels unearned. I use mods like cell warriors, which removes the infection meter but adds more enemies and gives them more health. Same thing with other mods that give more power scrolls. It might not be the same struggle everyone goes through, but I just wanted to see what the game had to offer and to have fun with it. So my rule is if you feel like __BC is an impossible wall to break down, don't feel bad if you make it a bit easier. Do what is fun.
I beat 2bc on my second or third try with poisonous fangs + giant killer with poison affix. I find it very helpful to practice for a while on the lower bc. This way you still practice but it's much less frustrating

I thought, that Promenade and Ramparts were the easiest to start with. But today I completed the game with sewers, graveyard, cave and skipped the level after giant.
nice video, some while ago, i finished 2BC for the first time and wiped the flor with a Hand. On other hand, I think it was with marksman bow, so not that great gameplay by me (seems I have most fun with tactical now). Still one need a bit about muts (great video), synergies (tonfas with 175 % dmg on slowed enemies, while shoot em with ice bow), curse chests are important really. Have not get to a shield thing myself yet tho or even discovered how to get the key to Cavern...
I never understood why 2BC was the big step for so many people. In my case, 4BC was the biggest leap in difficulty, because the Malaise had set in (older version of game) and that meant you could not just go super slow and safe anymore.. But I guess, to each their own.
I got super lucky in my first 2bc run and got the 20000 Gold item. With that i could buy every healing item i needed and beat the hand with damage over time i think. currently on 3 bc but im getting better. Guess im just stuck a bc higher XD

Immediately clicked on the video and knew I was just playing too fast. I usually get in the Ancient Sewers at around 6 minutes meanwhile the video shows 18. I'm too used to playing Risk of Rain I guess.
i got a crazy synergy on 1bc by using electric whip, ice shards, freeze grenade, and swarm grenade. Everything had either more damage to electrocuted enemies or frozen enemies and I shredded and no hit concierge. I then died to HOK bc I hadn't fought him in a while and forgot his attack range edit: i beat it in 42 mins with some sick poison + bleed synergies
Took me around 1,5 weeks (40 runs) to beat 0BC, a week to beat 1BC and I beat 2BC 2 days after beating 1BC (around 10 runs), it was harder than 1BC for sure, but i expected worse.
Is there a reason that 2BC is so difficult? Are 3 and 4 BC easier by comparison? Cause it genuinely feels like if this is the mid game, then the end game should be straight up impossible
I was stuck on 2bc for a while I couldn’t do it so I went back to no bc and 1 and I’m working on making it to hand of the king consistently and I did that with every bc and now I’m nuts
When ever I get a new weapon I like to go into custom mode and practice with it until I get to clock tower, if it's good I'll keep the weapon and beat the game if it's decent I'll swap it after I see it's functions, if it's plain bad and I don't make it to clock tower however I just never use it
So infantry bow is Red weapon although ranged attack : so every time you scroll Red, you increase you attack/dps? Now, most ranged mutations are purple, so although you might be going all red…it would still be ok to be off color in mutations???
How am i supposed to not panic about taking damage and simultaneously getting the 60 kill doors? Whenever i get hit at least once i immediately get discouraged because of this stupid streak break
I love roguelike games, i spend 1600 hours in Isaac and playing currently neon abyss, but dead cells is something I cant my head around on 2BC, no matter what I try, I fail, like I didn't get the game.......its frustrating.
I would say my fighting style in this game is to be considered as all-round fighter (Brute, tactic, survival) But there's one thing that scares me, in here & in Elden Ring etc... 5:58 Learn...How To Parry :) rarely get the timing right, duh!
did i spend 20 hours to get out of 2BC in just 2 days? yeah, did it only take me playing with a shield for HALF A RUN to parry basically everything??? YES FUCKING YES! do not sleep on shields kids! also don't fall for the assault shield, i know it's tempting but trust me, it's so much worse than an actual shield for the timing
somehow today i just decided i will get out of the 2bc rat race so i just beat it first run of the day lol mainy because i played my favorite weapon and that is the rapier
I use custom mode just to have easy access to brutality survival and tactic gear and then I just hope I get the gear that I like of that type for example of what I do I deactivate the Nutcracker and have blood sword active stuff like that

I'm not taking the curse when I have a great run with a legendary weapon. I don't need the scroll or whatever is inside.

I was hardstuck in 1BSC for YEARS. Only now with castlevania I could beat it through "the bat". Not even a week later I beat the hand with 2BSC and finally got my tube upgrade xD

This guide might really help me heat 2bc, I put the game down for a while since I got bored and am just today trying to pick it back up again, I honestly didn't realize some of the stuff you said in this video (I was kinda confused before about what the recovery skill said about having an increased window to get health back but now I know what it's referring to)

Great video bro! I will sub. The Only thing I disagree is the forge thing. By having maxed weapons you can beat the game easier, and also you are able to buy smarter. Great video anyways

I feel like the thing with 2bc for me is how it feels easier than how it actually is, for example every time I play a run, when I die I think "come on, you know you shouldn't have died to that" but in reality, it really is very difficult and it took time to realize that.
I’ve been on 2BC from the third day I played this game…. To still being on it on week 2.5 - I was going to lose my mind
about the custom mode, i wanted to say i learned that the baseball bat is the most broken, and wanted to always build it and beat the game that way. until i got a good L tier weapon and picked it up, shortly after i realised it was much better than the baseball bat, and i even managed to get my second boss cell with that weapon
it was legendary electric whip with +75% dmg to rooted, i had a bear trap, and i had a face flask and vengeance synergy after that,
the result was that my face flask and bear traps had the blueish flames, i was perma burning bosses, and dealing pretty big dmg with all these buffs and synergies

My personal rule was to do what was fun even if it feels unearned. I use mods like cell warriors, which removes the infection meter but adds more enemies and gives them more health. Same thing with other mods that give more power scrolls. It might not be the same struggle everyone goes through, but I just wanted to see what the game had to offer and to have fun with it. So my rule is if you feel like __BC is an impossible wall to break down, don't feel bad if you make it a bit easier. Do what is fun.

The synergies are huge, if you go into a boss with no synergistic weapons it's as good as game over before it starts
I beat 2bc on my second or third try with poisonous fangs + giant killer with poison affix. I find it very helpful to practice for a while on the lower bc. This way you still practice but it's much less frustrating

Thank you very much for these tips, mate! I watched this video and just beat 2BC after 2+ months of struggling. You are my savior! I think the most usefult advice was about which biome to select. I thought, that Promenade and Ramparts were the easiest to start with. But today I completed the game with sewers, graveyard, cave and skipped the level after giant.
nice video, some while ago, i finished 2BC for the first time and wiped the flor with a Hand. On other hand, I think it was with marksman bow, so not that great gameplay by me (seems I have most fun with tactical now). Still one need a bit about muts (great video), synergies (tonfas with 175 % dmg on slowed enemies, while shoot em with ice bow), curse chests are important really. Have not get to a shield thing myself yet tho or even discovered how to get the key to Cavern...

I never understood why 2BC was the big step for so many people. In my case, 4BC was the biggest leap in difficulty, because the Malaise had set in (older version of game) and that meant you could not just go super slow and safe anymore..
But I guess, to each their own.

I beat 1 BC first try but I've been getting slapped by 2 BC for a few months. It's good to know I'm not the only one with this problem.
I got super lucky in my first 2bc run and got the 20000 Gold item. With that i could buy every healing item i needed and beat the hand with damage over time i think. currently on 3 bc but im getting better. Guess im just stuck a bc higher XD
@Иван Прозоров I haven't even made it to hand of the king yet on 2BC, I just keep on getting caught off guard by some of the high damage enemies in the normal biomes.

I spent entire year to beat 2BC, It's THAT hard so dont feel bad if you're stuck
i got a crazy synergy on 1bc by using electric whip, ice shards, freeze grenade, and swarm grenade. Everything had either more damage to electrocuted enemies or frozen enemies and I shredded and no hit concierge. I then died to HOK bc I hadn't fought him in a while and forgot his attack range
edit: i beat it in 42 mins with some sick poison + bleed synergies
Took me around 1,5 weeks (40 runs) to beat 0BC, a week to beat 1BC and I beat 2BC 2 days after beating 1BC (around 10 runs), it was harder than 1BC for sure, but i expected worse.
Wait for 5BC... unless you cheat and use aspects.
I like clearing the whole starting area without picking up items or scrolls to see what I have the best start with

Is there a reason that 2BC is so difficult? Are 3 and 4 BC easier by comparison? Cause it genuinely feels like if this is the mid game, then the end game should be straight up impossible

Been on this crunch for a long time.
I was stuck on 2bc for a while I couldn’t do it so I went back to no bc and 1 and I’m working on making it to hand of the king consistently and I did that with every bc and now I’m nuts
I recently got to 3bc with a double shield build

the fact that this showed up right after I beat 2BC feels kind of ironic
When ever I get a new weapon I like to go into custom mode and practice with it until I get to clock tower, if it's good I'll keep the weapon and beat the game if it's decent I'll swap it after I see it's functions, if it's plain bad and I don't make it to clock tower however I just never use it
So infantry bow is Red weapon although ranged attack : so every time you scroll Red, you increase you attack/dps? Now, most ranged mutations are purple, so although you might be going all red…it would still be ok to be off color in mutations???

How am i supposed to not panic about taking damage and simultaneously getting the 60 kill doors? Whenever i get hit at least once i immediately get discouraged because of this stupid streak break
I love roguelike games, i spend 1600 hours in Isaac and playing currently neon abyss, but dead cells is something I cant my head around on 2BC, no matter what I try, I fail, like I didn't get the game.......its frustrating.
i beat 0bc, after that i beat the 1bc in my first try when i got to the boss room, and after 5 months, i keep in 2bc.
On my opinion the maon thing on bc's are always be equiped with a giant killer to kill a bods faster

did i spend 20 hours to get out of 2BC in just 2 days? yeah, did it only take me playing with a shield for HALF A RUN to parry basically everything??? YES FUCKING YES! do not sleep on shields kids! also don't fall for the assault shield, i know it's tempting but trust me, it's so much worse than an actual shield for the timing
fr I always use custom mode to specifically remove the assault shield
somehow today i just decided i will get out of the 2bc rat race so i just beat it first run of the day lol mainy because i played my favorite weapon and that is the rapier
and remember the whole point of the dead cells Kill, Die, and Learn

took me about 8 hours to beat my first run against the Hand. my very first run on 1BC i beat it and ive been stuck on 2BC for 25 hours now lol
2bc is the biggest wall for all players. I was stuck there for 50+ hours!
I use custom mode just to have easy access to brutality survival and tactic gear and then I just hope I get the gear that I like of that type for example of what I do I deactivate the Nutcracker and have blood sword active stuff like that
