I love when she seamlessly crosses into surf rock, some of her tunes almost have a polka vibe. She’s unreal. I’m a bit taken by this siren now and know she’ll be around a long time churning out magic.
You must recognize something before you can fear it. Sadly, Nashville (the industry side) is too busy churning out radio friendly cunt-ry music to even notice a gem like Sierra. That's coming from a Native Nashvillian.
This kind of music is way above and beyond anything the radio listening SHEEPLE can handle. They're to busy listening to what they are told to listen to. SAD!!!!!!!! 😖👍
Pop, hip hop, country, rock on today's mainstream radio stations are all or almost all computer software generated music instead of music actually played by humans. It originally has humans playing in the studio then the studio recording engineers and record producers grid everything with computer software tools like beat detective and autotune. For myself it doesn't sound like real music but so many of the masses, especially the young adults, teenagers, and pre teens believe that this grid based computer software generated music that relies heavily on beat detective and autotune is actually real music. So with this younger generation believing that computer software generated music is real music the crap that is played on modern country, rock and pop sells with this younger audience. For people like myself, we hate this modern trend in music and musicians like Sierra Ferrell are a welcome relief since she is so old school. Rock, country and pop from decades ago was real music with people singing with their real voice and playing instruments that wasn't using beat detective tools.
@@briano.5746 I loved alot of music in the 90s, especially from rock and metal, even in the mainstream. But in the 2000s the only really good music in every genre comes from the underground music scene. The 2000s was the start of this beat detective and autotune crap and the 2010s and currently doubled down on these computer software tools making it even worse then the 2000s decade.
This is mind blowingly good . How is she not famous ? If she doesn’t become wildly successful and famous in the music industry then the Industry has no hope.
“F” being famous! Stay fabulous Ms. Ferrell. My ears hear you channeling the wandering spirits of the Scott’s, Irish and African sounds that made our American music conquer the world. The tears of Native Americans, Black Slave folk and White landless indentured servant color your voice. I don’t know how… Ms. Sierra you can and do “Make America Hope Again”. Big Respect - Stay You!
I stumbled upon a Sierra video today and was instantly smitten. Her voice is AMAZING! I've been binge watching her group all day lol. Love love love this young artist!!!
I think she is considered country. Live she does some country and it is good. But really it is gypsy and a bit rock-a-billy. I saw her live and all I can say is that she is better than any TH-cam video I have seen of her, and some of the videos are really good. The voice is unique, a patsy/dolly/temptress voice, but she writes the songs, and the guitar playing is exceptional in the sense that the feeling is clear and the sound expressive.
She’s a hillbilly singer. Just deal with it. She might venture into other territories quite comfortably but at the end of the day she’s cut from that cloth and then some.
@@MaximusWolfe And what exactly is a hillbilly singer? is that a description of her musical genre or an attempt to pigeonhole her because where she is from?
@@thealaskapicker8628 Country music was originally called hillbilly music. They didn’t start calling it country until the late 50’s. That is what she does and quite beautifully. There is nothing wrong with being white, southern and rural. In fact it’s better to be.

@@chrismurray790 💙 Right?! I watched it yesterday. Always a good performance/performer, but she is definitely more calm and composed nowadays; which isn't good or bad, just maturing! Thanks for the comment.
Yeah, I think so, I also think she was pranking NPR with the sweet southern accent introduction then launching into this gypsy/klezmer tune. She does have a sense of humor.
Country mixed with Gypsy jazz. Fabulous. Music has found the heir to the late, great Amy Winehouse. Ms. Farrell plays a mean rhythm guitar. I especially like the dry tone of her Gretch hollow-body. The single note short lead breaks are very tasteful. She’s no Molly Tuttle but sometimes less is more.
If you don’t have her Washington By The Sea album, you can get a digital copy on her Bandcamp page…it’s great! I hope she releases it on CD and Vinyl again someday. I listen to it often.
Absolutely wonderful. Such an incredible talent. I hope success comes quickly for Sierra whether the world is ready for her or not, the world of music needs her.
I love you so much, I'm from the UK and your music is literally my fave! I did a cover of Jeremiah in my local pub and everyone loved it so much! You are my idol lmfao
Hank Garland would have loved this ! Sierra, Stu, Nate and Shawn ,,,you are World Class Musician's !!! I absolutely love every aspect of this !! The Legendary Guitarist Hank Garland Family
Is there an intervention group to help me stop binging Sierra? No - cut down, well, slightly reduce, crrap, never mind, gonna binge, gonna binge, gonna binge.
I buy your tracks of band camp you are the best new songwriter I have heard I n years hope you come to the UK This was the first song I heard on carter's guitars It's. Only a matter of time your brilliance will be known worldwide
She’s once in a lifetime. Hard to accept how great she really is.
I’m so happy she finally got her own NPR tiny desk concert years after this! Well deserved
Why did I do it? Why did I fall in love? Because I watched a bunch of Sierra Ferrell videos, that's why.
I cannot get enough of this woman and her band. Song choices are right up my alley
We are in The Era of Sierra!
The world needs Sierra. Not sure if the world is ready yet, or not, but Sierra’s clearly ready.
It’s time, world.
myguitardidyermom212 kudos!
So called music industry has what it merits: mediocrity!
Avoid it at any means!
I concur
I'm ready. I think Tom Waits may finally have someone to pass the baton to.
I love getting to respond to this in 2024!!! We are ready now...
Oh boy, she even plays 1930's-surf- minor blues-rockabilly. I m in love.
Get in line.
Not many styles she doesn’t play
I read this as Smurf not surf lol
Nashville is full of this type of Calypso hybrid rockabilly

"Music industry" is an oxymoron. A contradiction of terms. Two things which oppose each other.

She’s fantastic. A star is born, at least in so far as real music fans are concerned.
A NPR tiny desk session with real musicians and real instruments! Just exquisite music, thank you!!!
