I think Damien needs to get off iRacing and do something on LFM if he thinks everything's intentional. He's spending money monthly and seemingly not getting much fun out of it with people saying "here's Damien, fellas" and then deliberately punting him. Poor fella's got a target on his back. LFM would take a dim view of that kind of behaviour and ban them all. /s

TLDR: unintentional, panicked, spun onto racing line, BasicOllie is a nice person.
On Damien’s third inchident, I was reminded of a guy who Ollie found spinning in Ascari at Monza. He took out Ollie and was super apologetic but Ollie made his day by looking back at it immediately and not even initially placing any blame on him because as he spun onto the racing line, he panicked and tried to accelerate off of it. Ollie made sure he knew that he didn’t blame the guy.

@@--_DJ_-- Hard and fast rule in racing: Aim for where the car was, not where it is going. NEVER try to cut across the front of an out of control car cause this clip is exactly what will happen 9 times out of 10. Agreed. Contact or no contact, it shouldn't matter. The legality of the move shouldn't be determined based on whether the other guy takes steps to avoid the contact forcing them out, since they will be the victim regardless but lose more the less they defend the line they are entitled to (braking to let them pass vs. steering out to avoid contact vs. physically pushed vs. steering to push back).

On the last one: If a wheel falls off a car on iRacing's New Damage Model, that brake no longer functions. If both front wheels are gone, I can see where a driver would panic accelerate to try and get off the road ASAP. They just happened to accelerate at the moment the POV car comes over the hill and clips them.

What it looks like to me is that the crashing driver jammed the gas in an attempt to get the car to turn around, and simply drove straight into Damien. Functionally an unsafe rejoin to me, but that's just what I'm seeing.

Or he could have stayed on his side and turned the 360 to 540.

The thing with ovals is there’s the rules, and then there’s the unwritten rules. The rules probably say it’s the car behind’s fault most likely, although you are supposed to be predictable, but when ‘hold your line’ is a pretty clear unwritten rule, it’s much less in the car in front’s favour.

Iowa incident, the guy drives in deep from way below the optimal line, you can see him understeer past the black car to the point of switching lanes with no contact made, then when he regains control he turns down into the black car and spins him. Not even remotely 'understerring into him'. Almost looked intentional.

the Formula Ford one.... I think it was a good overtake, the guy could clearly see the cut and did nothing to evade the contact. Had plenty of space on his left, yet continued to turn in.

I once intentionally crashed on a nascar iracing race AFTER the finish as I thought there wouldnt be any incidents anyways then because the race is over and I thought I had seen this often before and thought it was a fun thing to do after an exhausting but good race. Oh boi, the lobby was pissed and I got punished -.-
I mean... it was AFTER the race was over. But now I know better

15:59 The guy in front is Riccardo Patrese. He was famous in the 80's for brake checking people who upset him.

That last clip, looks like car coming towards us, slightly turns to avoid the car, but then the racing car turns right to avoid the oncoming car.. putting himself on collision course

I have an idea to improve Monza t1. Hear me out on this one:
The first chicane will be used only from the second lap onwards. Curva Grande will thus be the first turn of the race.
Although that might just move the shenanigans to the second chicane.

For that NASCAR clip, it seems to me like the black car shoots down to take the inside line, and then right as the car we are riding onboard is about to be on his right rear fender, he shoots back up, and I’d say that incident is on the black car.

I'd say that last clip the guy should watch "Days of Thunder" for the advice the old guy gives Tom Cruise; "Steer to where the crash is, not where it's going..."

The third Damian incident towards the end of the video it actually looks to me like the car doing the rejoin turned further to the right (rejoining facing the wrong way) before steering left again to turn around, and really should've waited for Damian in the yellow car to pass if it couldn't get his car all the way around on the grass before rejoining facing the right way

14:00 the lead car is driving looking at the track. the following cars are trying to take the inside because they are novice. that's a racing incident due to lack of experience on both drivers

As for the Iowa Oval race: I'd put the black car at fault, crossing in that sharp is still legal but then you can see he loses grip and swerves back to the higher line. By that time the POV car was already committed to running high

I think in the stock car clip, I would put the blame on the black car. The car that had the camera view held his line. The black car came across his nose left the outside open where the camera car started passing. the black car again came back across and took himself out. Like ya said the black car wasn't predictable.

1:47 i think what happened was the Ferrari yes did not only go too fast into the corner but also missed the apex completely. I doubt it was intentional but yeah the Ferrari.
Like look at the Ferrari he needs to be on the curb for the most optimal line to ensure both cars get through cleanly. But yeah probably misjuged their entry into the 2nd Lesmo really and didnt take the most ideal line.
I may not drive IRacing but Gran Turismo 7 and yeah you lose time going wide at the 2nd Lesmo here if you dont use the curb. Particularly on exit. Like this exit out of the Lesmo sets you up for Ascari which i honestly admit i take too much curb sometimes.
