This is a step by step demonstration on how to make custom license plates for model cars. This is the method I have been using and requires little supplies.
Your video is excellent, and I have used this tutorial to produce silver on black number plates for the 1:24 scale Minicraft Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 1 that I am building. The result is absolutely marvellous and I could not have hand painted these very small plates. You are so easy to listen to, that 10 minutes just flew by! I made a license plate for my 1967 Shelby GT500 "Eleanor" - LYN 274. I have a B/W printer, so I used yellow crayon to make the letters yellow :D Then I used glue to stick it over factory license plate. It's been a month, and it holds beautifully! Of course I would prefer to use color printer for maximum effect... Also, that packing tape trick is really clever. I will try it! Keep posting man! You're doing great!

Hey JMCporsche, I would like to personally thank you for this video, it's seriosuly helpful and going through the steps I have put on my first custom license plate on an AutoArt Jaguar XK and I absolutely love it. It personalizes the car and somehow I have started to love each and every car, be it a Bburago, Maisto or AutoArt...so thank you for that and hopefully more new vids ;)
Thanks! Yes, they can be very easily removed, as long as you don't glue it. I have taken off plates a year later using my method, and the original one is still there, just the way I left it.

Alright Michigan I live in Detroit, also I’ve got some scale plates for my rigs n paid a guy from Facebook $5 each for the metal n $10 for 10 on the sticker type, u could make some money making these plates

Great tutorial. However, I'll just use millimeters rather than playing around with the archaic fractions of inches. I wonder when the U.S. going to jump on-board with the rest of the planet and adopt the metric system?
I just surprised my moms with her her real michigan plate on my 1:18 scale maisto 300c to bad theres no 1:18 scale 2013 ford taurus then it would be a exact replica

The Scotch Tape you applied on the licence plate gives a nice shiny look.Thanks.I will try it on my cars as well.Great review!

Glad to hear it! Color printers are nice, but hey, you found a solution to the problem. Glue sticks also work, they just don't come off as cleanly.

They also have websites where you can create the number plates but then you can make it smaller in a programme like Photoshop or anything like that.
