Missed opportunity on the road trip to explore the brother's relationship and characters.

Why do all these christian films have the character who accepts God do so in the aftermath of an intense traumatic life event? I mean, if you're holding a gun to your head, you're probably in a very emotionally vulnerable and unstable state.
This film could have had so much more potential. Do you want an actual hard-boiled christian film? How about when the character goes to the church and the pastor approaches him, the character reads the pastor for filth for knowing about the abuse in the character's home and not saying or doing anything. Then have the character come to God in his own terms. Despite what christian film logic will tell you, sometimes faith leaders mess up and hurt people. My pastor turned me away at a time when I needed a community most and I still haven't fully forgiven that church for it. You make a hard-boiled christian film by showing that the world isn't always black and white; not by taking the standard christian film formula and sprinkling in some profanity to look "edgy".
And then the character struggles with even going to church because while having accepted Jesus and trying to walk in faith they still have a hard time handling "church people"?
But sir, all one needs to be hardcore is to have swearing and guns, just like Shadow the Edgehog!

I think you both may have come up with the best idea for a Christian Film, yet.
This movie reminds me of those kids that think they're cool because they curse, but actually seems super pretentious.
I don't usually cuss, but darn.

1. I was hugely amused by the fact that you were apparently able to say "motherf*cker" but not "bullsh*t"
2. I was going to complain about you lopping off the ending again, but I'm glad to hear you're planning to probably review the endings of these movies separately.
3. This is absolutely not my kind of movie and I am not likely to see it, but I was glad you seemed to be really fair to it. Since the director's apparently a Whovian (at least SOMEONE in this production was), maybe he can make his next project a sci-fi piece? :D
I was in a group of about 10 people who were the first to see this film! The director (Spencer Folmar) went to the college I go to now, and screened it there before anywhere else. Afterwards the producer, director, and even the stunt coordinator had a question and answer session which was very revealing. I didn't think the film was good persay, but I am excited to see what he does. He's a talented guy.
I really don't understand why you keep hiding the endings of films. I mean, I guess you don't want to push people away from seeing them, but a review is a review. It would probably be enough to warn the audience spoilers are coming up.

A person finding a symbol of their religion when they’re upset and believing it’s god giving them a message just sums up a lot of personal experiences I hear about. god doesn’t just appear, they just find a necklace or see a butterfly and go wow that reaffirms what I was raised to believe.

Good job on the review. But I don't like how you dont talk about the ending though just like in Thr3e...I think you should just say " ok for those of you that want to be surprised about the ending please leave the video now." And then talk about it. Personally I have no intention of watchIng the movies you review unless it seems like something I would like. When you don't mention the ending though that just annoys me that now I have to go look up the ending and read about it. I really love your SGK videos but I don't get why you do this. SKippySounds I did do a live stream talking about Hacksaw Ridge once. I think it’s still up here. I was actually thinking about filming something soon about those two movies. Maybe not a full “movie night” review. But definitely something sometime soon.

Have these Christian movie screenwriters never interacted with human women? It seems like every time there's a romance it comes across as super creepy and stilted (ie this movie and Princess Cut)
I how the director's next movie doesn't act like cussing is so scandalous so that it comes out more realistically when characters say cuss words. Like, if everyone lived in this movie's universe, we'd all be saying thinks like, "What is your *F U C K I N G* problem?" instead of the usual "What is your fucking problem?"
Is the twist of this movie along the lines of that in Francis Ford Coppola's "Tetro" (2009)?

Great review! This movie was basically exactly what I was expecting, which was a bit disappointing, because I DO think we need more movies that are unafraid to handle both the darkness of life and the redemption of Jesus.
So I agree with Kevin: hopefully the director learns from this and goes on to do great things in the future.
Have you ever seen the movies "Priceless" and "The Song"? They are Christian movies who aren't afraid to go there in terms of sin and real life.
