I have a better theory, instead of Tony being rename victor it’s in reverse…actual Tony in the MCU was the real victor von doom the entire time that from an young age he was maybe adopted by the starks and renamed tony
He is not a variant, but a face off type enemy. He taunts the Avengers by masking as Tony, reaping the rewards while being Doom. Then he destroys the image of good Tony and uses the resources to make a new empire in the new universe (sacred timeline universe). At the end, a Tony might come from another universe to stop him or he just gets destroyed
I don't understand. This is *not* a variant of Tony Stark. The Russo Bros explicitly stated that he will be playing Victor Von Doom in Hall H. This isn't a story of Ironman turning heel, it's just a variant of Doom. RDJs Doom *is not* a Tony Stark variant.
During the battle of NY, the Shawarma restaurant gets completely destroyed and Tony doesn’t get his lunch. He has to settle for Falafel instead and a super villain is born
I can see this being a combination of Iron Man's origin and Doctor Strange's origin. The stark bomb blows up as in Iron Man 1, and instead of damaging his heart, it scars his face. He escapes the same way by creating armour. But no doctor, including one Stephen Strange, can repair his facial scars. He searches the world for a cure and finds Kamar-Taj and learns sorcery from the Ancient One.
I like your proposition. Seems very logical from a multiverse perspective. It sounds like the premise of a “What If” episode… Like Agent Carter or T’Challa’s Star-Lord 👏👏👏
@@otisdriftwood I’ve seen the theory that it’s the other way around that MCU Tony as we know him is actually the real victor von doom all along but has a similar childhood like he describes but instead victor may was adopted by the starks or the starks change their name from doom to that 🤔
Yeah they specifically said he's playing Victor so I genuinely think he's playing a completely unrelated character. If his face is disfigured and hidden by a mask, there's no reason to worry about in universe characters thinking he looks like Tony
More videos based on groundless assumptions. It's not TONY STARK playing "Doctor Doom" but rather RDJ playing THE CHARACTER of VICTOR VON DOOM. The Russos explicitly state this in Hall H.
@@TheSsjJoker That also will not play out. It's not TONY STARK playing "Doctor Doom" but rather RDJ playing THE CHARACTER of VICTOR VON DOOM. The Russos explicitly state this in Hall H. It is Victor Von Doom who, probably at some point, mindswapped with a Tony Stark variant (possibly 838-Tony Stark, note the authoritarian paradise of Earth-838). Eventually, when things reset, the mind and body of Doom will be reunited for MANY more stories with Doctor Doom played by another actor.
@@ked49 any of us could have been born, or our genetic copy, anywhere on the world in an alternate universe. That person would share some characteristics like intelligence and looks, but be a completely different person based on their culture, environment, and upbringing. It’s probably him genetically, but nothing more. He’s not Tony.
I might be the only one but I think it was the WORST decision to announce RDJ as Dr. Doom before the movie. Do you know how EPIC it would've been if we found this out in the movie and no one knew at all in the lead up to the movie?!? Marvel dropped the ball with this one if you ask me.
My preference is that it’s a completely different character seen only as disfigured or in armor who once he becomes all powerful creates his new face in the image of Tony Stark. After seeing clips from the upcoming D23 projects Disney, Marvel and Star Wars are just falling back on sequels, spinoffs, and rehashing of ideas and IP that has been successful before instead of going in bold new directions and ways of telling stories. Marvel’s magic was getting the casting right and telling great stories with the characters those actors portrayed. As awesome and epic as Downey was as Stark, I wish they had chosen a different actor who would make Doom his own with a compelling story arc as they did with all the characters leading up to End Game. I just think it will be too hard to recapture the lightning in a bottle they had with RDJ as Stark
@@ericbrant6309 I agree with you for the most part. I wasn't excited hearing it was RDJ coming back especially how they announced it. Doom is a character largely masked up and/or scarred, they could've used RDJ's acting chops in a way that made Doom ominous and a great villain, sure. Then they could've surprised us that it was RDJ later. Or they could've gone the route you are mentioning which is just find the perfect actor for Doom. The fact that they had to reveal RDJ before the movie the way they did to get fans excited doesn't give me any confidence in this movie at all.
@@ilexx876 Agreed. If I was Marvel, I would have kept the actor a closely guarded secret in every post credit appearance leading up to Doomsday or even Secret Wars. The mystery of keeping fans and scoopers guessing whose distorted voice in the armor or shadowy disfigured face would have kept audiences coming back but they just went with the reveal of the Russos and RDJ coming back as easy box office draws. The biggest flaw of phases 4 & 5 have been too many weak projects that keep getting compared to how epic everything culminated for phases 1 through 3. Now they’re setting themselves up for failure if this next group of films doesn’t surpass what they did before
Well, yes and no. It would have been a great surprise, but it's achieved what it was supposed to achieve - everyone is talking about it. It's free advertising
@@IanM-id8or sure it's free promotion over a year out from the movie, so who really cares if they are talking about it now? Also it's free promotion while sacrificing an even bigger payoff by revealing it in the movie. Did you watch Deadpool and Wolverine? It's very similar (albeit on an even smaller level) to the reveal of characters that we were surprised with in that movie, if they decided to use those reveals as marketing its simply just not as interesting. Truth be told, an Avengers movie doesn't need the extra promotion that they got from the RDJ reveal, it's a Marvel tentpole, everyone was always going to know about this movie before it came out regardless. I work in marketing, not many products would have had the opportunity that Marvel had with RDJ for this movie. The trailer could've had several scenes depicting Doom, Marvel fans would've been hyped and the reveal in the movie would've been the most talked about thing and they would've been able to capitalize off of that in $$$ immediately. Right now the RDJ thing is going to go stale way before the movie even comes out.
Or maybe Victor has absolutely no relation to Tony and came from a world where Victor von Doom naturally looked like Robert Downey Jr while Tony Stark was played by Tom Cruise?
I was thinking the mind swap is the only way they could really pull it off because Dr. dooms last name is doom after all. or a variant to wear, his name is doom instead of stark
It is Victor’s powerlessness to rescue his mother from Hell that truly drives him and makes him DOOM. An evil Tony Stark without sorcery is not an equivalent of Doom!
Right. And thanks to Feige and the Russos, we are not getting that. Stark is no equal to Doom. The MCU Doom played by RDJ is Victor Von Doom (very likely from the universe we start from in the upcoming THE FANTASTIC FOUR movie) who, probably at some point, mindswapped with a Tony Stark variant (possibly 838-Tony Stark, note the authoritarian paradise of Earth-838). Eventually, when things reset, the mind and body of Doom will be reunited for MANY more stories with Doctor Doom played by another actor.
I have a theory that the DOOM in Dr. Doom for RDJ is going to be an acronym similar to E.D.I.T.H. It would be a clever way of making the name make sense!
This is so random but the way that you seamlessly integrate the content of your ads into what you’re saying in the video is top-tier I barely even recognized I was being advertised to 😂
I watched back the video of them announcing RDJ at SDCC, and they announced him as the only person who could play the role of “Victor Von Doom”. They were specific in using Dr Doom’s full comic name. I don’t think they would have done that if it was just Tony Stark with a different life path
Marvel has a long history of telling us things that are not true, to throw us off, or NOT telling us things, to throw us off. I know that opinions are VERY mixed on casting RDJ for Doom... But there's ZERO reason to cast RDJ in the role, in two films that will be the climax of the Multiverse saga, UNLESS the plan is to have some sort of multiversal/variant/mindswap shenanigans going on. They knew that after all the backlash from fans the last few years over the diminishing quality of the MCU films/shows that some people would definitely say "they're out of ideas, they brought back RDJ as a cash grab". Which if THAT was truly the plan, you don't bring him back to be Doom, you bring him back to be Iron Man again. It's going to be a Tony variant, or something along those lines. Whether you like that or not is a separate issue, but it's going to be a Tony variant who became Dr. Doom or something like that.
Yes, actually there are many reasons that they have chosen RDJ for this role other than your fantasy of Dr. Doom being an Iron MA variant. Bringing back the fans after all the fuck-ups in recent years and having an actor that they can trust rather than a new face are among the strongest reasons.
Of these options, I very much like the Gulmira Cave branching timeline theory, it seems most fitting, just the right moment to take a left turn, the worst option would be the endgame option it would cheapen his hero arc and sacrifice. He wanders in the desert, Rhodey is dead and never finds him, he has that hood on we see as he's wandering almost like Dr. Doom and just carries the Mk1 mask from the jump jet crash to hide his face.
no they didn't. they named him victor von doom, but never said he wasn't a Tony variant. That allows for several loopholes like, "in this universe his name was changed to vvd" his name would still be victor von doom, but he's a tony stark variant I'm pretty sure they chose tony for a narrative reason and that's probably to kill off peter parker while peter sees his face for the first time
Buddy, they're bringing back RDJ. He's going to be playing some variant of Tony that happens to be Victor Von Doom in some way or another. Otherwise they wouldn't bring back RDJ. And don't give me that "oh they can put prosthetics on him to change his look" BS. They aren't going to hire RDJ just to hide his face. They're SPECIFICALLY bringing him back to reignite the MCU, which means his face will be front and center in a recognizable way. And they aren't going to just say "oh he's just another dude who looks like RDJ", it'd confuse the fans. They're going to base his story off of Tony Stark like some of the theories being proposed in this video, because it's the only way they can have RDJ back in the MCU in a way that doesn't completely confuse the casual audience.
the real doctor doom took the body of tony stark, that's why Robert downey jr after taking the mask off put the iconic tony stark glasses, he simply give us a hint that he is returning as iron man( like he said few months ago in ign review)
As someone who eagerly anticipates every ScreenCrush entry, this was not my favorite video, although, the last entry was probably the best way to navigate through this gigantic mess of general silliness. Keeping it very similar, with just a simple choice, making all the difference, feels about as elegant of a solution, given the subtext, as anyone else has suggested. Narratively, it really does work. Leave it to Colton to find a great way forward. I really hope I don’t hate all of this…
This pitch really does sound convincing and believable, this plot may be used for the future film. This really can make for a perfect What If animation episode.
More videos based on groundless assumptions. It's not TONY STARK playing "Doctor Doom" but rather RDJ playing THE CHARACTER of VICTOR VON DOOM. The Russos explicitly state this in Hall H.
Yes they said that, but clearly if they are going to show his face and it’s exactly the same as Tony starks, then there has to be an explanation. A character can change their name. He could be born Tony stark and change his name. Cable and thanos can co exist in the same world because thanos is a cgi face that’s different. He can’t show his face and just me like I’m victor Von doom son of w.e his moms name was while looking EXACTLY like Tony stark. That’s why the body swap is heavily in question. The two movie title colors seem to hint that. But him just using the same face and saying he’s completely a different character doesn’t make any sense. It would be stupid. Imagine they casted Chris Evan’s to now be sentry. Same face, but hey he’s sentry now. So the avengers ignore that it’s Chris Evans face? Or do they question why he looks like captain America if he’s not him.
They simply said the name they were familiar with. Also its not like they've never walked back anything from Hall H before. It makes way more sense for it to be a variant then it does for it to be a totally new character they could have gotten any actor for.
@@IreneShardaForever let’s Occam‘s razor your argument. It makes no sense to introduce Victor Von Doom then, even the name! jJust save unnecessary steps and call him superior Iron Man gone bad! But the Russo brothers didn’t talk about things that way. They spoke about the CHARACTER of Victor Von Doom, saying he is perhaps THE most important CHARACTER in all of MARVEL. This is completely obvious skated, and avoided by all these TH-camrs, and so-called hack insiders who are not entertainment, industry journalists. Only the gullible eats from the trough- for two years they’ve been going on and on about Kang and they were completely wrong. Go back to the HALL H announcement. Listen to the entire introduction, which is, conveniently, always edited out of these, TH-cam videos with their theories. The Russo brothers have said years ago that one of their favorite characters of all time is Dr. doom and their favorite story of all time from marvel-SECRET WARS. Reading comprehension 101 shows that the most important character of Secret Wars, either the 1984 version or the 2015 version, is Victor Von Doom.
@@WawaMarvel dude the MCU has already set up a cannon for lack of a better term that one actor can play two different characters in deadpool and wolverine with Chris Evans playing the human torch. its not that hard to believe that Doom isn't going to be a Tony variant they are going to be two different characters with the same actor. but hay thats 's just my two cents we aren't going to know more about RDJ's Doom until the movie actually goes in to production for its 2026 release date
Thank you. I really enjoyed your theories. Actually, I wanted you to explore Tony's heavy reliance on AI like Jarvis, Ultron, and Friday. I also like the idea of Tony having multiple personalities, just like Moon Night. Another, one is after Tony meets his future version of his daughter after snapping, something happens in that red land. This one is weird, but why not : Mephisto.
The MCU needs you more than every. Just pay man whatever he ask for. He is the saviour for phase 6 and 7, and massive fan and co star favourite. Its a mo brainer.
If Doom starts out as a variant of Tony Stark it would be a disservice to the character. MCU fan after seeing Doom introduced as a Spider-Man 3 Tony and then the MCU brings in the real Dr. Doom: Hey, it's that emo Tony Variant. Comic book fans: No, it is Victor Von Doom. He was a romani orphan who had nothing growing up on the run from a despotic regime. Despite all that, through pure force of will, he trained his scientific mind to the point he rivals Reed Richards. He trained in magic to the point he rivals Stephen Strange. He suffers no fools and rules a nation that loves him despite being seen as a despot by the rest of the world. He has fought gods and devils, and destroyed universes. He survived having his heart turned to stone, blood turned to acid, and being sent back to the time of the dinosaurs. He helped inspire Darth Vader. MCU fan: Yeah, he's Tony after a bad day and a choice. Comic Fan: Don't talk to me anymore.
My theory on what is going on is demon in armor. It would be the best explanation as for why doom looks like stark. And thus we could have a heroic victor as well, the body of doom with all of the positive traits from both doom+tony like in the comic
He won't be a STark-variant, but probably Doom's mind controls one.
@@BibleAlivePresentations its still bad, imagine at end they'd swap back to the original actor to play Doom, then we dont care? why? because we are so invested with Tony Doom?
@@Andre-vt4np let’s watch it happen first. First of all you don’t know who the original actors gonna be right? So how do you know that what are you gonna have is our DJ giving an awesome template. As if there weren't any Comics that made a "disservice" to any character ever according to their own fandom. Particularly not on Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe at least, he didn't bypass any spider sense, or killed a perfectly capable Bruce Banner, or used the mother fucking Puppet Master to kill Cosmic beings, nope, nothing out of the ordinary. Great comic btw, just like many others that did similar things.
first hour!!!! whoooooo!!!! I had fallen behind on screencrush videos but I'm glad to be here within the first hour of the upload!!! hopefully we start seeing the MCU turn itself around and be as great as it once was!
I think the best theory is that he comes from a timeline where someone else snapped, reversed the 5 years of the Blip, and Tony is on a mission to locate/get Morgan back. Taking out anyone that gets in his way. Kinda mirroring Wanda.
In Iron Man 2, Tony's life is dwindling because of the use of palladium in his arc reactor but instead of figuring out the technology left behind by his father, he found his way into Kamar Taj much like Dr. Strange did, learned sorcery and combined his technological prowess with magic. And with the time stone at his disposal, he became obsess of charting the course of humanity, heck even the universe by time viewing much like what Dr. Strange did in infinity war. He's trying to prevent emminent "doom" through precognition. That's why Dr. Strange is hesitant of sharing future events with Tony because its one of the alternate timelines he saw.
Whether he’s Tony variant or not, I’m pretty sure this Doom doesn’t have a 616 history, and all these alternate timelines are based on 616 Tony’s life. The biggest indicator is that Fantastic Four is set in the 60’s, and assuming we’re going to have a rivalry between Reed and Doom, he’d have to have been born earlier. A non-Tony option that still satisfies the “what if Tony turned evil” concept would just be that Doom has strong parallels reminiscent of Tony Stark without literally being Tony Stark.
I have a better theory, instead of Tony being rename victor it’s in reverse…actual Tony in the MCU was the real victor von doom the entire time that from an young age he was maybe adopted by the starks and renamed tony
I can see the way Logan from D&W became 10005’s new anchor being take place for RDJs Doom being 616’s anchor being, revealing that 616’s anchor being was MCU Tony. And the way he could repeat that same method to do so would or could have something to do with the Bangles and the Ten Rings, helping him become God Emperor
In Endgame when Tony is in the elevator with a past version of Howard, Tony asks how far along the pregnancy is, and it REALLY seems in Tony's face that it IS NOT adding up. This Doom could be a disfigured Stark quietly put up for adoption. Not actually Tony, but an older brother adopted by a wealthy and extremely private Latvarian family.
Maybe it's like the storyline whenever Tony isn't the starks true born son and Maybe in this scenario he finds out he is actually a Doom and embarrassed it or he was never adopted by the starks at all. It's a really cool comic so it would be interesting to see.
Idk I think the idea is pretty cool. Taking the hero of the MCU and turning him into the villain is a cool concept. I mean, there's a lot that can go wrong, but that can happen no matter who the villain is. Just look at Kang... started off so strong in Loki and then the variant in Quantumania get rolled by a bunch of oversized ants and then all the other variants got thwarted by a single person (Loki). Plus the scene with all the Kang variants was so god awful. They looked super corny like they were straight outta the Power Rangers and they all were jumping around and laughing like stupid toddlers or something lol. Granted, they wrote Kang off because of the IRL drama, but it wasn't headed in a good direction anyway.
I posted this on a previous video of yours and I'm more convinced now that it's the route they're going to take: "I bet they go all the way back to Captain America The First Avenger, something goes wrong with the tests, Tony's dad has to get out of dodge, the family leaves and ends up in Latveria with new names and identities, Tony is born as Victor Von Doom, raised Latverian, and grows up to become Doom. Same "Tony" in spirit, just raised in an entirely different environment."
there have been a lot of twists and turns in the mcu storyline, but this one, as jarring as it sounds, is, i think, going to end up being pretty damned awesome. i gotta say, of the 3 guys i believe have the most interests in leaving a legacy with the mcu, its the russos and rdj. so i am very much looking forward to whatever it ends up being that they happen to deiver. in bob, we trust.
If Howard gets a European woman pregnant and that child becomes Doom, that's not Tony. He's literally a different person. Half of the same DNA as Tony Stark, but not him.
@@KBQUALDO I like the idea of Tony having a secret brother that is Victor more than any variant theory. But who knows? New mask, same task could be a reference to the shift from Kang to Doom 🤷♂️

It reminds me of when TH-cam knew that Maphisto was going to be in WandaVision
You're forgetting one aspect of this whole conspiracy to who robert downey junior will be. It has already been stated that he will be playing victor von doom, not tony stack
Right so I don’t get why their over thinking this and keep thinking this shit is a variant rather then , Chris Evan’s capt, and human torch. Not variants just same actor.
@@KenKidd-to6cf You're not thinking 4th dimensionally. Chris Evans, Captain America, Human Torch are all variants of each other. At the same time, another variant of Human Torch is also a variant of Killmonger etc.
I’ll tell you the best way to introduce RDJ as doom It all starts in season 3 of what if Adapt the comic “what if Tony lost his body to doom forever” Instead of Tony’s mind in doom winning, he loses Tony’s mind in dooms original body is killed Season 3 finale gets a post credit scene It’s doom (in Tony’s body) getting up from the scuffle and getting alerts about the fantastic 4/galactus or both Fantastic 4, doom is in the background lingering, but doesn’t do anything until the end of the movie when their universe is about to be devoured by galactus Fantasitc 4 and doom escape at the same time but land in 2 different parts of the world Doom lands in 616 realizing he looks just like Tony stark and begins to use this to his advantage Armor wars could be done well if they use this doom to intercept starks tech And then dooms day Few movies for other heroes in between Finally, secret wars
When you present it this way, all the pieces truly are there for Tony Stark to become the next great multiversal threat, especially since he was the one who discovered time travel in his world, which means other variants of himself likely did, too.
hello there! As much as i love screen crush and the way he delivers insane theories i gotta disagree with this one. The thing is as much as these array of theories are really interesting and might make sense to most of us for Marvel's choice of direction for doomsday it defeats a very important feat of doctor doom. You see these theories only covers the technological side of doctor doom and the "iron man" side of him but forgets the sorcerer part of him. Doctor dooms origins and powers not only has technology bein involved but also magic. He beholds powers of both science and magic. How do these theories or series of events explain how he becomes a sorcerer? This seems very confusing and probably accidenatlly left out by screen crush. It would be better if he explained how he achieved his magical powers. Tbh u really cant and that is why these series of possibilities dont add up and probably isnt right.
Its gonna be VICTOR VON DOOM, not a variant. I don't remember Iron Man being in Secret Wars 2015. And Secret Wars 2015 is where Marvel is going with Avengers: Secret Wars.
What if…(haha)…? “What If” Season 4 explores ALL of these with a capstone finale that leads us to Avengers: Doomsday. This was a truly amazing exploration of the possibilities. Excellent work. I still think I like the alternate birth or plane crash as a child options, but DANG y’all got me thinking about options now. Haha.
Possibly Iron Man 2 after Brody steals an Iron Man suit and Hammer makes his own drone armour. Tony gets threatened that someone else copied him so quickly and decides to up his game by doubling down on making more and more powerful Iron Man suits. Or take a path similar to Dr. Strange, he escapes the cave by building his prototype Iron Man armour. Instead of technology he turns into the mystic arts to remove the shrapnel from his heart and permanently save himself. Then he lets the combined power up from the Iron Man armour and magic to get to his head.
I have other interesting idea for how tony become doom. In the ff timeline tony and reed are friends and equal in intellect. But then Galactus came and tony had an idea that reed didnt agree with. Ultron. Tony tried to create him anyway, but reed interfere and accidentally scared his face. Galactus destroyed their universe but ff and tony escaped in another universe but they were separated. He found himself in a universe similar to the main 616 universe but with this difference. There is no ironman. He become the ironman of this universe. With the help of dr strange he studied mistic arts and crafted his signature armor. For awhile everything was ok. He wanted to start his ultron program again but the avengers made hin reconsider. The demons from his past didnt fade away but he didnt let them take control. And then thanos become. Half of the life is gone and tony had enough. He made Ultron and it worked. At this point ironman become dr doom. He made this suite of armor around the world and become the dictator we all know and love. He take advantage of the chaos in the universe and conquered all the planets in the universe. But that was not enough. Galactus is coming and he will do everything to stop him destroy this or any other universe.
When Disney realized their projects stink and ppl run to movies like Deadpool 3 to just see actors reprise roles. Ppl care more of seeing an old actor, than character and plot. Great future planning for marvel and Star Wars 😑

After Tony gets rescued from the desert and they went to Burger King, he asked for no pickles. They put pickles on his cheeseburger and that’s when he decided humanity was too flawed to survive.
I think now it make sense. So how RDJ will become Dr. Doom. Basically just taking from what the Ancient One said to the Hulk regarding the Infinity Stones. When you go back in time and remove a stone in it's original timeline, it will create a new timeline. So when Tony when back into the past to meet with his Dad, already it had been set to lead to a change into the original timeline even though the aim was to go back in time, get all the stones then revive everyone who had been lost from Thano's snap, but those that came back, some came back different, some never even came back, and to restore coverage from the original MCU timeline, this also created an arrival of new upcoming characters or existing characters become someone they where not original meant to be. Another example, the original Captain America. Going back to fix his past, but in a way potentially there might have been two Captain Americas. Well potentially. So in short now it makes sense, at first I felt upset about RDJ becoming Dr. Doom, but how Marvel are strategic about it. Yes they messed it up, but not necessarily in a bad way or with bad intentions. But it all points to...Multiverse and timestones.
I'd like to start by saying, "Colton, I love all your theories." I also have a theory on why Doom looks like Tony. It's not because he actually was a Tony Stark, but he just ended up only looking like Tony Stark. Same reason we have Spider-Man with different faces from different realities. For example, in the 616 universe, there is someone that looks like Toby Maguire's Spider-Man, that person just had another role to play in the 616. We probably all have twins, but are different people entirely. Just like Johnny storm looks like our 616's Steve Rodgers. Different dad, different siblings, or no siblings. We just have a copy in other universes. Victor Von Doom just happens to look like Tony Stark. But in the fantastic 4 universe, which happens in a different universe, and in a different Era, like the 60's, that copy of Tony was born earlier. At least that's my theory on how the MCU can explain how the same face and be on a different person.
I think the Tony Stark as Doom is a very smart idea on their part. Eases the work needed to provide audience backstory, drive, etc as we have so many previous films with Tony. We just need that little detail that tells us he's a variant and what decision took him on this path (Ultron plot via "globe suit of armor" is very strong imo). Tony has his bots and armor similar to Doom. Etc etc.
This is a very interesting video. I think it will depend on if they want him to be a Latverian or not. It sounds like they very likely might not make him Latverian but have him be on a quest to save his entire world from an Incursion as a Tony Stark variant. No matter what, it'll have to lead to Secret Wars, which means he'll have to have the drive to "prevent" a multiversal threat.
Bingo… his reaction looked like he was confused. I think he was adopted from Sakovia, that’s why he was so distraught about what happened when they destroyed it fighting Ultron.
I love that shoe as well. Alot of great foamposite dropping this year and I am 45 so I not sure if I can still pull them off but this pair is runner up for me because the tekken collab is by far the best foamposite dropping this year in my humble opinion.
Think of all the character building we went through with Tony Stark. From Ironman 1-3, to Civil War and finally the Avengers saga. The idea that Dr. Doom will even come close to that with some surprise appearances in a few Avenger's movies is optimistic at best.
The Endgame theory would make more sense, since prior to his snap Dr. Strange pointed 1 finger up. Cause Strange knew what Tony would do if he survived with the infinity stones.
This video is insanely good. The idea of "choices" as a theme makes many of the ideas fascinating. I am not a big fan of comics, so I don't care much about separating VVD from TD. Yeah, they are completely different in comics. I get that. But these movies are based on comics, not the comics. They can be very different. That's OK. That's fun. It's creativity at its best. I get that, for the comic purists, this would be hell. C'mon people, if something like what is in the video becomes true, just open your heart and embrace the chaos. If RDJ is not TS, okay. If RDJ is a version of TS that became VVD, that is also okay. Just bring RDJ back to the screens.
Okay here's a Film Theory "What-If the Tony Stark we know from Earth-616 becomes Doctor Doom?" So After the climactic battle of "Avengers: Endgame," Tony Stark, sacrifices himself to defeat Thanos and save the universe. As the dust settles, Tony collapses, seemingly lifeless. However, instead of being buried or cremated, his body is secretly placed in a cryogenic chamber by Pepper Potts and the remaining Avengers, hoping that future advancements might one day revive him. Chapter 1: The Astral Plane Tony's consciousness drifts into an ethereal realm, a dimension beyond life and death. Here, he encounters ancient, powerful entities who reveal the hidden truths of the multiverse. Among them is Agamotto (Yes Agamotto - The eye of Agamotto that tony was trying to protect) a sorcerer and guardian of mystical secrets. Agamotto reveals that Tony's journey is far from over; he is destined for a greater purpose that transcends his mortal existence. Agamotto explains the concept of Incursions-cataclysmic events where parallel universes collide, threatening the multiverses existence. The destruction of entire realities is imminent, and Tony learns that he is uniquely positioned to prevent this chaos. Chapter 2: The Burden of Destiny Agamotto presents Tony with a grim vision: the multiverse is fracturing, with Incursions spreading across countless realities. Each Incursion endangers billions of lives and threatens to reduce entire worlds to ashes. Tony learns that Victor Von Doom, a version of himself from another universe, has mastered the arcane arts and technology to address these crises. Tony realizes that to save countless lives, he must adopt a similar path. His unique blend of intellect, technology, and magic positions him as the only one capable of preventing the collapse of the multiverse. Chapter 3: The Path of Darkness Tony undergoes rigorous training under Agamotto, merging his technological genius with mystical powers. He learns that addressing the Incursions will require morally ambiguous actions and devastating choices. Agamotto imparts the harsh truth: stopping the multiverse collapse may require actions far more extreme than anything Thanos or anyone has ever done. Chapter 4: The Awakening Tony’s body is revived from cryogenic stasis. As he awakens, he retains vivid memories of his astral plane experiences and the mystical knowledge he acquired. The process of revival has imbued him with residual magical energy, transforming him both physically and mentally. The transition is jarring, but Tony quickly realizes that his understanding of the multiverse and his new abilities make him uniquely equipped to face the challenges ahead. Chapter 5: The Superman Tony travels to a universe where an Incursion is imminent. He encounters a tyrannical version of himself, who rules with cruelty to maintain control. Using his new powers, Tony aids the local heroes in stabilizing their reality. This experience makes him realize that individual interventions across universes are not a sustainable solution. Tony’s next mission takes him to a universe dominated by magic, where he helps local sorcerers fend off an invasion from a dark dimension. His methods, though effective, are ruthless, causing him to question the morality of his actions. He understands that such direct interventions might not be enough to address the broader crisis. In another universe, Tony joins forces with the Avengers to prevent an Incursion that threatens to merge their world with an alien reality. Tony discovers that the stabilization efforts may require the destruction of key locations or the sacrifice of innocent lives. The weight of these decisions confirms to Tony that a more comprehensive solution is needed. Chapter 6: The Revelation of Battleworld Realizing that traveling to individual universes and attempting to fix each Incursion is not a feasible solution, Tony decides to take a more drastic approach. Tony uses his combined mastery of magic and technology to construct Battleworld, a realm where the multiverse’s conflicts can be contained and managed. Battleworld becomes a staging ground for the final confrontation against the forces causing the Incursions. It is a world where different realities intersect, and where Tony can control the environment to address the multiversal threats.

He escapes the same way by creating armour.
But no doctor, including one Stephen Strange, can repair his facial scars.

Might as well include one story. Where Dr Doom was roommates with Tony Stark and swaped his mind with Stark's on here.
Or maybe Victor has absolutely no relation to Tony and came from a world where Victor von Doom naturally looked like Robert Downey Jr while Tony Stark was played by Tom Cruise?
exactly, because Joe Russo told Hall H that RDJ is playing Victor, not Tony, that's what he said
I was thinking the mind swap is the only way they could really pull it off because Dr. dooms last name is doom after all. or a variant to wear, his name is doom instead of stark

They literally said he’s playing Victor Von Doom, not a Tony Stark variant.
no they didn't. they named him victor von doom, but never said he wasn't a Tony variant. That allows for several loopholes like, "in this universe his name was changed to vvd" his name would still be victor von doom, but he's a tony stark variant
I'm pretty sure they chose tony for a narrative reason and that's probably to kill off peter parker while peter sees his face for the first time
Buddy, they're bringing back RDJ. They're going to base his story off of Tony Stark like some of the theories being proposed in this video, because it's the only way they can have RDJ back in the MCU in a way that doesn't completely confuse the casual audience.
dude is just a theory
@@RealEllenDeGeneresI'm a dude, playing a dude, disguised as another dude! 😂

I thought Marvel confirmed RDJ was playing Victor Von Doom?
The Russos confirmed it on stage
But I feel a huge part of Dr. Doom is his blend of Magic AND Technology. I need to believe RDJ can have a magic side to him.
Like at one point of time Dr. Doom was Sorcerer Supreme, if I remember correctly. New mask, same task can have any number of meanings.

This all feels very plan B-ish
Oh it 💯% is
It obviously is plan B after dumping Kang they're not even hiding it. Now it's the writers job to make A-list content from plan plan B.

@@KenKidd-to6cf You're not thinking 4th dimensionally. Chris Evans, Captain America, Human Torch are all variants of each other. At the same time, another variant of Human Torch is also a variant of Killmonger etc.
I’ll tell you the best way to introduce RDJ as doom
It all starts in season 3 of what if
Adapt the comic “what if Tony lost his body to doom forever”
Instead of Tony’s mind in doom winning, he loses
Tony’s mind in dooms original body is killed
Season 3 finale gets a post credit scene
It’s doom (in Tony’s body) getting up from the scuffle and getting alerts about the fantastic 4/galactus or both
Fantastic 4, doom is in the background lingering, but doesn’t do anything until the end of the movie when their universe is about to be devoured by galactus
Fantasitc 4 and doom escape at the same time but land in 2 different parts of the world
Doom lands in 616 realizing he looks just like Tony stark and begins to use this to his advantage
Armor wars could be done well if they use this doom to intercept starks tech
And then dooms day
Few movies for other heroes in between
Finally, secret wars
When did Tony become Doom?
When Tony Stark died.
When he never had some Pepper
College, like the comics
There is a what if where tony and doom swapped bodies during college days.
What’s up with the music used for the timeline animation? Lame!
When you present it this way, all the pieces truly are there for Tony Stark to become the next great multiversal threat, especially since he was the one who discovered time travel in his world, which means other variants of himself likely did, too.
They've already established he's Victor von doom not tony stark
how about stop killing the fun theory stuff
10:58 you dare use the most heroic version of tony stark to show the path change here? That is the only variant of stark that wouldn’t hurt a fly.
hello there!
It's Victor von Doom instead of reed being his rival at school it was Tony instead and Victor did a minds swap like Doc Ock did to Peter Parker
He was referred to as Victor Von Doom multiple times on stage. No need to milk the topic
Bro told them to say no to more money coded as fake novel content
How are you not gonna milk this topic, they need the revenue.
Its gonna be VICTOR VON DOOM, not a variant. I don't remember Iron Man being in Secret Wars 2015. And Secret Wars 2015 is where Marvel is going with Avengers: Secret Wars.
I hope Dr.Doom won't be a variant of strak. Just played by the same actor.
Bro it feels like you’re putting the same vid out everyday 😊
Oh I thought Young Tony was going to become the Iron Fist 😅
What if…(haha)…? “What If” Season 4 explores ALL of these with a capstone finale that leads us to Avengers: Doomsday.
This was a truly amazing exploration of the possibilities. Excellent work. I still think I like the alternate birth or plane crash as a child options, but DANG y’all got me thinking about options now. Haha.
I feel like he’s not gonna be a Tony variant but he’s actually Victor Von Doom but he just happens to have Tony/RDJ’s face
is just a theory mr fun killer
@@carterblake3410its what he thinks
Possibly Iron Man 2 after Brody steals an Iron Man suit and Hammer makes his own drone armour. Tony gets threatened that someone else copied him so quickly and decides to up his game by doubling down on making more and more powerful Iron Man suits.
Or take a path similar to Dr. Strange, he escapes the cave by building his prototype Iron Man armour. Instead of technology he turns into the mystic arts to remove the shrapnel from his heart and permanently save himself. Then he lets the combined power up from the Iron Man armour and magic to get to his head.
They just hired the same actor, it has nothing to do with ironm/doom... Bruh!
I really love your videos and theories, Ryan. That's all.
orignal tony stark from the 616 universe was adopted into the stark family
so *What If...*
Tony stark was once Victor Von Doom before his adoption?
Interesting
Someone hug this man
@@doseoflzrI get hugged and loved daily. I have a family and I teach children. Your comment is asinine. I can have a valid opinion and complaint without needing a hug. Enjoy your day, it’s time to play call of duty with the fellas.
Some get this man a hug
😂😂😂 bro tried didn't he @@WawaMarvel
I think someone’s a little bitter. What happened? No Apple juice before your nap?
Brilliantly Insightful video.
Screencrush is the only channel that I watch that when I watch it I can smell the video store aroma
Props for Ground news!
That was a ton of fun. Thanks!
This is a very creative video 👍🏾 you guys really used your imagination for this one!
After Tony gets rescued from the desert and they went to Burger King, he asked for no pickles. They put pickles on his cheeseburger and that’s when he decided humanity was too flawed to survive.
I love the new format and I just ordered a t-ahirt
That was an amazing breakdown.
Etc etc.
Haven’t watch this video yet… but I’m hitting the like button ❤
Great video! Yet again!
I’ll come back to this just like I did with the Doctor Doom Kang video you did 9 months back
We learned in the time heist the kid his father was talking about wasn't Tony. Maybe they adopted tony
Bingo… his reaction looked like he was confused. I think he was adopted from Sakovia, that’s why he was so distraught about what happened when they destroyed it fighting Ultron.
This is a, "what if Tony Stark was evil and when happened." Not, "How T 23:28 ony Stark was born Von Doom
I love that shoe as well. Alot of great foamposite dropping this year and I am 45 so I not sure if I can still pull them off but this pair is runner up for me because the tekken collab is by far the best foamposite dropping this year in my humble opinion.
You might be forgetting any Doctor Strange involvement, after all, Doom also has magical powers.
Okay here's a Film Theory "What-If the Tony Stark we know from Earth-616 becomes Doctor Doom?"
So After the climactic battle of "Avengers: Endgame," Tony Stark, sacrifices himself to defeat Thanos and save the universe. As the dust settles, Tony collapses, seemingly lifeless. However, instead of being buried or cremated, his body is secretly placed in a cryogenic chamber by Pepper Potts and the remaining Avengers, hoping that future advancements might one day revive him.
Chapter 1: The Astral Plane
Tony's consciousness drifts into an ethereal realm, a dimension beyond life and death.
Chapter 2: The Burden of Destiny
Agamotto presents Tony with a grim vision: the multiverse is fracturing, with Incursions spreading across countless realities.
Chapter 3: The Path of Darkness
Tony undergoes rigorous training under Agamotto, merging his technological genius with mystical powers. He learns that addressing the Incursions will require morally ambiguous actions and devastating choices. Agamotto imparts the harsh truth: stopping the multiverse collapse may require actions far more extreme than anything Thanos or anyone has ever done.
Chapter 4: The Awakening
Tony’s body is revived from cryogenic stasis.
Chapter 5: The Superman
Tony travels to a universe where an Incursion is imminent.
Chapter 6: The Revelation of Battleworld
Realizing that traveling to individual universes and attempting to fix each Incursion is not a feasible solution, Tony decides to take a more drastic approach.
