What a performance! I once saw Ray perform in the downtown square of my hometown. It was pandemonium with 35,000 people trying to get a glimpse of the master!
This is the best version of “Blues in the Night” that I’ve ever heard. Ella Fitzgerald’s 1961 version is also wonderful! But Ray did this extremely slowly and made it hurt so good!
Ray Charles. Never went to music school But he is obviously extremely learned in application of jazz chords. To connect the mundane blues. Progression with plateau of elevation that is unparalleled infusion
Highly over rated... not a genius by any stretch, so many substantially better singers and piano players that have toiled without the silly misplaced adulation that this 2nd rate performer undeservedly acquired. IMO.
Fellow Musicians disagree while your entitled to your opinion that's pretty damn good endorsement . If you set it to Ray he'd probably smile like in the interview and say some people don't like you ☺️ get your ears checked boy that's all me ✌️🕯️
Hope you are talking about yourself my friend, because if there´s one thing Ray is not, it´s overrated.. lol They dont call that man "The Genius" for nothing.

So good! May Ray Charles rest in peace. Cheers! ✌️🎹🎵🎶🎵🎶
Thank you for your kind words!
I wrote the full orchestral arrangement for this song for Ray Charles. I also conducted the entire recording session.
Harry beautiful arrangement. Was that the only song you wrote arr for brother Ray?
@@urosperic - Thank you Uros! No Sir - I also arranged 3 other songs for Ray. I will tag you on those arrangements.

@@Lindberg1984 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it was Frank Sinatra who coined that nickname for Ray.
