You can get that armour now through ornaments, you just use a new currency (They give you plenty to start) and you can get more. Ornaments can be made from any non-event armour you've once possessed.

I stumbled across this video shortly after you released it. I had just played through destiny 2’s campaign, and I remember thinking “is it just me, or was that story pretty terrible?” I had a buddy at the time who was just raving about how awesome the game was, but I had this feeling that something about this game and franchise as a whole was just lackluster. I decided to look up destiny 2 reviews to see just what other people might have felt. Yours was the first I found. After watching I realized two things. 1. I was never going to be able to view destiny in the same light prior to watching. And 2. I wasn’t just witnessing a one off review of a game. I watched someone express they’re opinion through an artistic medium I hadn’t seen before. So I saw you had other reviews of destiny and decided to watch them. They all had a similar effect. I was moved by them in a way. The fact that you had such a passion and longing to play a game that could have been better was something I related to and was inspired by. I decided to watch some of your other reviews, search for the worst, trying to watch, and before I knew it, I had watched majority of your videos on your channel. For some reason I just wanted to write this. It’s been a couple of years now since watching this video for the first time. A lot has happened in my life since then, as I’m sure in yours. I feel like you’ve been there through it in a way. I would throw on videos to go to sleep to, listen to in the car, when I was going through tough spots in life, and when I was doing well. I get the impression more and more that IHE is looking at Destiny 2 while clouded by Destiny 1. A lot of gripes he has with the game (story) age quite poorly actually. One it the worst being: Why can't Ghaul be a cunning villain, simply because the Cabal are predicated to be a warmongering race? The idea that a Cabal indivual actually came up with a rather clever plan to nullify the Guardians power is cool. (what the game does afterwards is a bit dumb, because it nullifies that premise) Sure, the game has its problems, but none are as big as he makes them out to be, More and more I feel like his insane amount of playtime in D1 stirrs like acid inside his mind.

Its actually kind of depressing to hear him talk about it. I've never owned either of the destiny's and after watching this video I am glad I never have. Can anyone explain why people love this kind of gaming? There's obviously a fan base for it but I don't see the appeal at all. Reflecting on the gaming industry as a whole and seeing games like Mass Effect Andromeda completely fail really shows how low some of these publishers and game designers are going just to make an extra buck. I just wish we could get rid of pre-orders and micro-transactions and get the gaming industry back to the way it was.

Fallout 4 got torn apart for including it as it took a players ability to imprint themselves or their character onto the avatar they were playing as yet there as also been a steady outcry against simple silent protagonists. I don't usually like my protagonists have their own voice because it changes the way I interact with the world and makes me feel like an observer but if you're going to give my character a particular voice at least be consistent and let him speak his mind so he feels like he's a part of the world. I don't mind being 'just an observer' as long as my character feels like he fits in, destiny 2 just makes your character seem about as out of place as you as the observer, like he's just there to witness it all, so you end up being an observer of an observer to an event. How terrible dull.

Momoka7 wow does it a bit differently though all the information you need to understand the world and the story is Ingame assuming you’ve played Warcraft before hand and even if you haven’t it still does a pretty good job explaining the important stuff you might have missed. If you want more information because you genuinely want to know more about the world or characters you can get the books
I think you've majorly missed his point - it's not about his unwillingness to read, it's about them not caring at all about presenting a story. WoW for all it's faults at least tries to frame the grind around a central narrative that is EXPANDED UPON in books and comics :) Biiiiiiig difference. Also probably worth mentioning that I do not play WoW, haven't played it since Cataclysm and really don't want to return to it ever again.

This whole video was my exact reaction to Destiny 2. My family has been into Destiny for years and all of us were hyped for the game. I, though , was very disappointed. It was around when we got our light back I realized that the cool story-telling and cinematic was a one time thing and obviously not coming back. I was beyond excited when we were introduced to being without light and picking up the remains of our world, and then I wasn’t. The repetitiveness hit and I went back to playing Pokémon and Minecraft.
I mean, I’ve only played the beginning of D2 so I was concerned I’d regret having the story spoiled, but when I realised I’d actually played through more than half the game.... Good grief, what fucking story. Why did this cost $60AUD or whatever, there’s barely anything to this game ffs

I just built a PC and redownloaded Destiny 2, if you think THIS was bad. Try it now. There is no intro, you are THROWN into multiple buggy 'bounty' missions. there are 7 missions and I still don't know why I did any of them. To make it worse, its the same enemies, AND THE SAME RUINES. Yes 7 missions are on the SAME MAP done over and over. I walked over the same staircase 7 times!!!! I ended up not playing the game after this.

You know what I like about they "You only played X amount of time? You aren't allowed to criticize said game." is that then, if it is a lot of time, they turn around and say "You played the game for that amount of time, so you have no right to complain." It's a brilliant and idiotic strategy at the same time. Idiotic because it makes no sense and requires no effort, but brilliant because they can immediately shutdown any discussion and criticism without actually creating a coherent counterargument.
Personally, I think playing for a short amount of time is somewhat of a valid argument. So someone criticising a game for it's lack of end-game but has not played enough to experience it can have their opinion taken with a pinch of salt. However, their argument on certain specific parts can be taken into consideration depending on the arguments they back it up with. However, I personally believe this argument has no weight when a person played a game for a long period of time. Say a person plays a game for 1000 hours and says it sucks. He has all the rights to complain. The fact he has played for so long demonstrated he has experienced most, if not all aspect of the game and is sharing his opinion on why he believes the game is unfulfilling and not worth investing time into.

Sure, 45 minutes may not be enough, but I was being told I need to put 100 hours into NMS before it got good. Then, at the 101 hour mark, I got the "Well you played it for 101 hours so it can't be that bad" nonsense.
The other thing is that Steam counts time to game is open. I have a habit of alt tabbing out of stuff and just leaving games running when I go out or sleep, so it continues to tick up.

It is definitely a sign, don't waste money on that piece of shit called Destiny 2 and play Warframe for free. With about 1000hrs of playing Warframe i can tell you that it is way better than Destiny 2. But prepare for many grinding sessions, farming is one of the things you need to do often in Warframe, but I think that's also fun, you got enemy variety and many different weapons.

Good on you. I played the beta of those first 2 hours he was talking about, where you run around in the wilderness without powers and it's interesting and tense and you're left to get excited about the rest of the game. Then after that's done you play one of the more interesting strikes, and the beta ends. Seeing only that part of the game made me extremely hopeful for Destiny, so I preordered... and I'm kicking myself for it. Everything past that point was garbage. I'm done with Destiny and I'm done with preordering.
I feel like a lot of the positivity around this game comes from it being compared to the first Destiny, but if you compare it to other games in the same genre or Bungie's previous work, it's kind of sub par.

i think the game has always been polished well and might be a blast to play casually with some friends (because it becomes more of hanging out than actually playing a game. i get it), but yeah the story is dreadful and has always been dreadful because they cut the writing team to pump money into the marketing team. just so disappointing that so much potential was wasted.
Definitely agree with your point. The music and graphical quality is great and the story is somewhat decent. Only thing that really annoys me is how the main character doesn't have a voice when really you could see that she/he would've actually had a voice if the publisher (Bungie) allowed it to go through as well as the game not having any replayability, focusing more on grind and leveling up (In the loosest terms as once you get past level 20, you don't even really level up) instead of giving a bigger focus on replayability. Not to mention, the only reason I would ever consider getting the game is to play with friends I know.

Reach was the peak of futuristic armour design and it's gone consistently downhill since.

I stumbled across this video shortly after you released it. I had just played through destiny 2’s campaign, and I remember thinking “is it just me, or was that story pretty terrible?” I had a buddy at the time who was just raving about how awesome the game was, but I had this feeling that something about this game and franchise as a whole was just lackluster. I decided to look up destiny 2 reviews to see just what other people might have felt. Yours was the first I found. After watching I realized two things.
1. I was never going to be able to view destiny in the same light prior to watching.
And
2. I wasn’t just witnessing a one off review of a game. I watched someone express they’re opinion through an artistic medium I hadn’t seen before.
So I saw you had other reviews of destiny and decided to watch them. They all had a similar effect. I was moved by them in a way. The fact that you had such a passion and longing to play a game that could have been better was something I related to and was inspired by.
I decided to watch some of your other reviews, search for the worst, trying to watch, and before I knew it, I had watched majority of your videos on your channel.
For some reason I just wanted to write this. It’s been a couple of years now since watching this video for the first time. A lot has happened in my life since then, as I’m sure in yours. I feel like you’ve been there through it in a way. I would throw on videos to go to sleep to, listen to in the car, when I was going through tough spots in life, and when I was doing well. I’ve discovered other content creators through finding your channel. You have had a profound impact on me personally despite never actually meeting you. I just wanted to let you know that. Watching this in retrospect is a lot like watching the heartfelt promise of an addict to get better.. after they've already relapsed.
I get the impression more and more that IHE is looking at Destiny 2 while clouded by Destiny 1.
A lot of gripes he has with the game (story) age quite poorly actually.
One it the worst being: Why can't Ghaul be a cunning villain, simply because the Cabal are predicated to be a warmongering race? The idea that a Cabal indivual actually came up with a rather clever plan to nullify the Guardians power is cool. (what the game does afterwards is a bit dumb, because it nullifies that premise)
Sure, the game has its problems, but none are as big as he makes them out to be, More and more I feel like his insane amount of playtime in D1 stirrs like acid inside his mind.

Its actually kind of depressing to hear him talk about it. I've never owned either of the destiny's and after watching this video I am glad I never have. Can anyone explain why people love this kind of gaming? There's obviously a fan base for it but I don't see the appeal at all. Reflecting on the gaming industry as a whole and seeing games like Mass Effect Andromeda completely fail really shows how low some of these publishers and game designers are going just to make an extra buck. I just wish we could get rid of pre-orders and micro-transactions and get the gaming industry back to the way it was.

I don't usually like my protagonists have their own voice because it changes the way I interact with the world and makes me feel like an observer but if you're going to give my character a particular voice at least be consistent and let him speak his mind so he feels like he's a part of the world.
I don't mind being 'just an observer' as long as my character feels like he fits in, destiny 2 just makes your character seem about as out of place as you as the observer, like he's just there to witness it all, so you end up being an observer of an observer to an event. How terrible dull.

This whole video was my exact reaction to Destiny 2. My family has been into Destiny for years and all of us were hyped for the game. I, though , was very disappointed. It was around when we got our light back I realized that the cool story-telling and cinematic was a one time thing and obviously not coming back. I was beyond excited when we were introduced to being without light and picking up the remains of our world, and then I wasn’t. The repetitiveness hit and I went back to playing Pokémon and Minecraft.

I just built a PC and redownloaded Destiny 2, if you think THIS was bad. Try it now. There is no intro, you are THROWN into multiple buggy 'bounty' missions. there are 7 missions and I still don't know why I did any of them. To make it worse, its the same enemies, AND THE SAME RUINES. Yes 7 missions are on the SAME MAP done over and over. I walked over the same staircase 7 times!!!! I ended up not playing the game after this.

at this point im like Alex, I just don't care about Destiny. I never got the taken King because I could see the route they were going down. Plus I'm not a massive gamer, can't really afford next gen console and stuff so... I guess the Moth people will have to stay in our heads and hearts lol
You know what I like about they "You only played X amount of time? You aren't allowed to criticize said game." is that then, if it is a lot of time, they turn around and say "You played the game for that amount of time, so you have no right to complain." It's a brilliant and idiotic strategy at the same time. Idiotic because it makes no sense and requires no effort, but brilliant because they can immediately shutdown any discussion and criticism without actually creating a coherent counterargument.

Personally, I think playing for a short amount of time is somewhat of a valid argument. So someone criticising a game for it's lack of end-game but has not played enough to experience it can have their opinion taken with a pinch of salt. However, their argument on certain specific parts can be taken into consideration depending on the arguments they back it up with.
However, I personally believe this argument has no weight when a person played a game for a long period of time. Say a person plays a game for 1000 hours and says it sucks. He has all the rights to complain. The fact he has played for so long demonstrated he has experienced most, if not all aspect of the game and is sharing his opinion on why he believes the game is unfulfilling and not worth investing time into.
Yeah it's just a scapegoat so the person in question does not have to partake in any discussion on whether the piece of media is good or not.

Sure, 45 minutes may not be enough, but I was being told I need to put 100 hours into NMS before it got good. Then, at the 101 hour mark, I got the "Well you played it for 101 hours so it can't be that bad" nonsense.
The other thing is that Steam counts time to game is open. I have a habit of alt tabbing out of stuff and just leaving games running when I go out or sleep, so it continues to tick up.
Not gonna lie, destiny should’ve just been a game without a sequel, just with better graphics, updates, actual fair matches, etc.

It is definitely a sign, don't waste money on that piece of shit called Destiny 2 and play Warframe for free.
With about 1000hrs of playing Warframe i can tell you that it is way better than Destiny 2.
But prepare for many grinding sessions, farming is one of the things you need to do often in Warframe, but I think that's also fun, you got enemy variety and many different weapons.

Its like halo, but in halo the characters are actually memorable and the enemies each require different weapons or strategies to defeat effectively which makes fights interesting

This video basically confirmed everything I thought Destiny 2 would be, and I'm glad I didn't bother.
Good on you. I played the beta of those first 2 hours he was talking about, where you run around in the wilderness without powers and it's interesting and tense and you're left to get excited about the rest of the game. Then after that's done you play one of the more interesting strikes, and the beta ends. Seeing only that part of the game made me extremely hopeful for Destiny, so I preordered... and I'm kicking myself for it. Everything past that point was garbage. I'm done with Destiny and I'm done with preordering.

I feel like a lot of the positivity around this game comes from it being compared to the first Destiny, but if you compare it to other games in the same genre or Bungie's previous work, it's kind of sub par.
I played the halo franchise this week 1-5 , every campaign. It shocks me how bad destiny really is. I mean how can they go from the story of Halo to this. 343 have been slated for 4 and 5 but they're still better than Destiny

as a fan of the game series, this is a very fair and accurate assessment. your points echo things I've said myself. I won't be quitting it myself quite yet mostly cause I enjoy playing with my friends, but I can totally see why you'd want to quit. again, I think you are extremely accurate and make acute observations that cut to the core of what's wrong with the game and series.

i think the game has always been polished well and might be a blast to play casually with some friends (because it becomes more of hanging out than actually playing a game. i get it), but yeah the story is dreadful and has always been dreadful because they cut the writing team to pump money into the marketing team. just so disappointing that so much potential was wasted.

Definitely agree with your point. The music and graphical quality is great and the story is somewhat decent. Only thing that really annoys me is how the main character doesn't have a voice when really you could see that she/he would've actually had a voice if the publisher (Bungie) allowed it to go through as well as the game not having any replayability, focusing more on grind and leveling up (In the loosest terms as once you get past level 20, you don't even really level up) instead of giving a bigger focus on replayability. Not to mention, the only reason I would ever consider getting the game is to play with friends I know.
