    First- so so grateful the rescue teams got there quickly. Second- this is so typical of Admin- praises the admin team instead of the NURSES who stayed with those patients in those boats. God bless those nurses who stayed in dangerous conditions to keep their patients alive.

    I worked at one of the gulf coast hospitals as an RN during Katrina , we lost out hospital during the storm and had to transfer out patients to another facility, the place we transferred to lost all utilities, I was so happy to get out alive after the storm I said at that time I would never ride out another storm at work , we lost a lot of our patients because a lot of them were ventilator assisted. The day after the storm thank God for the military that sent in chinooks to rescue the patients transferred to hospitals in north Mississippi and Alabama.

    Man this is sad. And it seems like it happens every other year. My grandparents moved from Florida to Pittsburgh in 1961, the year my mom was born. When I asked them “why would you move from Florida? Florida is so cool compared to Pittsburgh!” They said because Pittsburgh has no hurricanes, and they wanted to raise their babies somewhere “safe” from natural disasters. I couldn’t imagine having a family and being caught in a hurricane zone or wildfire and so on. I really feel for these families and everyone else who is fighting for their lives because a natural disaster randomly popped up.

      No one and no place in America is completely immune to natural disasters, not even Pittsburgh PA. Start looking at fault lines and see how close you are to them, and how many major fault lines you might be close to and exactly how close you are. What type of natural disaster is your area prone to, if you were to have one? Yes you could probably try to move someplace that doesn't have natural disasters occurring seemingly every other day/week/month, but I'm not sure how much longer that formula will work, especially if you read the Bible. Plus, extremely hot summers and brutally cold winters can also kill and cause lots of damage. And no place is immune to fire. Seems like almost every area of the USA is prone to certain natural disasters. Buckle because it's probably gonna be a rough ride from here on out, and in every way imaginable; and not just in the USA, but everywhere.

      @mh.2344 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Unfortunately no matter where you rebuild that much water in a short period of time will cause flooding. NC,SC, TN & GA are beautiful places to live in a lot of rivers, creeks and streams that run downhill. Making its way back to the ocean. You can make sure your house is not built in a flood zone. However that's no guarantee that it won't one day flood. When Rivers Crest they flow out their bounds there's no way to stop that. And I'm not going to even talk about mudslides. Therefore, I hope they rebuild some way somehow. The 🗝️ is you have to be prepared. You cannot get complacent. You and your family will have to have evacuation plans. And when heavy rain comes pay close attention evacuate before the storm comes. I grew up on the beach every year my father goes over evacuation plans for hurricanes and flooding. We always kept jugs of water food and basic supplies. And each kid had a to-go bag. We checked it every year religiously. We also kept little cash. We are always evacuated. But my dad said some may not be able to. Therefore, you need to be prepared just in case you get cut off from society. I live in the city now not in a flood zone or hurricane zone. My husband may think I'm crazy, but I still have a to-go bag for me and him 😊. Nowadays It can be a natural disaster or civil unrest.

The end result was over $10,000 in property stolen over a couple day period. No matter what we call Him, no matter how different everone pray there is ONLY ONE Doer in this Universe and that's God, THE ONE God! I in NC and seeing this devastation and the fear, despair and destruction we feel for just a few days before help comes for us... the families and children in Gaza experience this exact feeling every second of everyday and NO ONE IS COMING TO HELP THEM!! Do America think that our God is ok with that? Ok with our country supporting that?? We don't think He will chastise us?? God gave us a smidgen of what others are going thru with this hurricane our cities look like Gaza after the hurricane, as if bombs went thru there!

    This is really sad but I hope it's a lesson that can be learned. Don't build this kind of infrastructure at the bottom.of a valley. Also near towns build channels where water can safely travel through. Look at madeira for example. Every city there has large flood channels build to prevent this very thing.

    How much more money wasted removing these people after it flooded cause they did not evacuate ?

      It was a hospital and seriously ill patients, some maybe in surgery, the ambulatory patients left. There were only a few there and it isn’t the first time this has occurred with hospitals in other places. Just because we don’t know the reason that these people could not have been moved at the time didn’t mean there wasn’t one. Maybe it is be no one was Ava to move the sickest of the patients. As far as money, maybe if the US government wasn’t sending billions to Ukraine and causing prices to accelerate on basically everything in this code to mismanagement you would have to concern yourself about the cost!

      Don't act like it can't happen to you, this was pretty unfathomable bad and unprecedented for this area. Consider how many settlements including cities and towns are near rivers or oceans and then reevaluate your glib hindsight remarks.
