      Haha thanks! I saw your comment about getting something for your 11y0 the xl100 would be awesome! And it has a normal sized frame so you can ride it too. And do front flips.

    Love these bikes. Wish I had all my old dual sports back. 78 yam 125, 76 yam xt500, 72 Honda Motorsport 250 and 350. Those were the days.

    I own a 1980 XL100. My grandad bought it for me to learn how to ride when I was 9 years old. I inherited the bike after he passed away so decided to put it on the road..I'm now 43 and have been commuting on the bike for the last 2 years. I am still in love with the bike, everytime I ride it I think of him.

      Hey man, thanks for sharing that story. I love those kinds of stories of bikes being families for a long time. That’s really awesome. And the XL100 is such a fun machine

      @@rangeroadmoto My grandad was an Isle of man TT racer in the 1930's. I restored his Rudge 250 race bike, He was pretty quick, and did an 86.9 mph lap, which is crazy when I look at the bike!

    Hey guys great vintage Honda Vid!! i used to have a 1980 XL100 and it was a blast to rip up the river valley roads and bridges around Edmonton. so much fun on a under-powered bike!!
    how does the saying go, you can have more fun riding a slow bike fast, than riding a fast bike slow!

      I 100% agree with that! I love little bikes.

    nice! my brother has a 1979 xl100s. I liked the front roll at 0:45. slightly sloppy, but you did just get tossed off a motorbike. looked to be a nice solid over-the-shoulder roll.

    Don’t forget the 350!! My 1986 xl350r was my all time fav bike! My 1980 xl500 was probably number two! You are so right though so much fun! Come to think about it, really every bike I have ever owned since are judged against their standard. Most aren’t close!

    Nice video. Suprisingly well made . Love the bikes too. Started on a 1980 xl100 and now ive moved onto a 1983 xl250r . Dont know if i could really handle a 500 in the tough trails haha the 250 already throws me around

    • @rangeroadmoto

      Nice! I found the xl500 to be pretty easy going off road, but i am a bit taller so that may have helped.

    Hey, I noticed on your xl100 you have a different tank, do you know by chance what honda tanks fit onto one?

    • @rangeroadmoto

    What seat and rear fender you have on there?

    • @rangeroadmoto
      @rangeroadmoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seat is a home made job, and the fender came from something else.. not sure what tbh.

    Didn't they also have an XL350?

    • @rangeroadmoto
      @rangeroadmoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah! They had lots of XL models, from 50cc and up

    • @jhackett9482
      @jhackett9482 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the 350 was kind of heavy and slow compared to the 250. The 250 was just slow. Wish I still had mine!
