@@SouthwestORV yeah, my xl80 was in my papaws barn for 7 years. he bought it in the early 2000's as a gift to my sister, and after a few years he put it in the barn. took me 400 bucks and 2 months to fix it. however, now the engine is done for as it runs like shit and doesn't drive. bought an apollo 125 as a replacement, and now THAT has a gas leak, so im shit outta luck. i did buy a car to fix to keep me occupied though.
How does the XL350 compare to the XL500? I realize that the 500 will be a bit stronger but there's more to desirability than speed...... Is one quieter or smoother? Thank you in advance.
Overall my XL500S was better than the older 350. When we switched off, we both agreed the 500 was better all around. It felt better off road, and on road.
@@matthewlee1069 IMHO the XL500S was the first "modern" Honda dirt/dual sport, it featured a lot of innovations which made it very special. I very much enjoy the ones I've owned over the years and have 2 in progress (restoration) now.

As long as it's mechanically sound, I would trust it. I rode mine some pretty good distances and didn't think twice about it. Solid bikes!

The XL500S is a 1980. The XL350 is a '75.
