The only time air produces a lot of friction is at high speeds - that's why sometimes while they go at the speed of sound (which is the breaking point for bullet trains. Sometimes they could go faster but don't want to hurt people's ears) - many have issues where they can only get them to 80mph!

@@madthumbs1564 thing is, the hoverboard ten years ago was just plain woodboard with magnets on it and the one making it float was really the magnetized floor. Unlike here the floor is just plain metal and the board is the one doing the magnitization so technically this can go anywhere if the floor is metal unlike the one ten years back that the floor needs to be special making it impossible to make it hover elsewhere.
