Now some of these inventions look like they are extremely dangerous. What we need is a skateboard with motorcycle wheels that zips along as fast as a car. Or a floating board to ride in an ice park. Or a skateboard with springs so you can jump really high in the air. I do love inventions, and these are all very interesting, but they do look like someone could get really hurt or even realistically die on some of them.

@@dano1307 i believe you mean the vesc, floatwheel is a 3th party accesorries shop:P vesc is the actual motherboard mod that allows you to customize your whole board like a DIY project.

saw Danny at a Skateboard art show in San Francisco once. everyone there was pro and i didn't even know how to ride at the time lol. i felt so out of place i could hardly breathe. Danny had some guy with him they were smokin a blunt. Seemed like a cool guy but i was too star struck to even talk to (the guy who jumped the damn Great Wall of China...) and settled for flirting with a chick i didnt recognize that rides for Element lol. Fun times

Yeah my friends dad builds some wicked electric boards for less than 1/3 of that price that he can ride from Pasadena to Longbeach (about 30 miles) on 1 charge. Charges it there and then rides back. Also built one that goes about 55mph that he races others with on a car track

I'm convinced when it comes to powered boards, nothing comes close to onewheel. Personally I think the pint x is the one to get
in terms of what? range, comfort, speed, safety and fun factor are all better on other powered boards. even for a lower price.

The MAGwheel is a knock-off the Onewheel and probably shouldn't be allowed to sell in the US.
it's dangerous because it doesn't have a wheel cover there's nothing to stop it from dragging your foot in if it gets hold of your shoe laces

One Wheel GT 30 mile single charge up to 26 mph and handles way better then the death trotter.
Which brings up THE problem: you cannot go that fast on sidewalks. You become a danger to yourself and all about you. I will support city supervisors who STOP non-human-power transportation devices on bike/pedestrian trails!
@@richtanner7397 So let me understand: doing 20 mph with an electrical skateboard on a bike/pedestrian trail is dangerous. But doing 30+ mph on a bike on the same bike/pedestrian trail is ok? And don't say they don't, I've been riding a Onewheel (mine tops at 16mph) every day for the last 3 years, and every single day I encounter many of those "pro bikers" in full suit that pass me at double my speed without so much of a signal. In what way shape or form does it being "human-power" make it safer?
@@richtanner7397 Bikes aren't supposed to go on sidewalks anyway. It depends on your state, but it is even illegal for them to do so in some.

The coolest and most practical skateboards then would be the "Tracked" ones- that first one stood out in particular because it's fast and can rid over ANYTHING!! There's very few FLAT LOTS with no rocks & pebbles that you could ride through today - plus nobody wants strangers riding around on their property even if you FIND a nice smooth lot. With the track-boards, you could ride those even in the street or on the sidewalk - no matter how rough & rocky it's sure to be.I'd go for something like that myself!! 😁 ... Except that I'm not spending $6,000 on a skateboard, and I don't have anywhere to go on it.... but other than that... 😓

the land crawler exxtreme's legs moving are so satisfing
ZETAZS looks crazy but they need to make a 4WD version! more torque, more traction and you it could ride both ways equally. I canr use my longboard because of all the steep hills around my home and I don't have the level to do slides to control the speed, but an electric skateboard with Regen braking on 4 wheels and a good suspension design would actually be much safer! I know 4wd skateboards already exist but this one has cool suspension, and I like he simplicity of hub motors. I don't know if it would be possible to make a skate board that automatically slow you down when you link turns and would feel a bit like a snowboard. I know it's not really the cornering that slow you down when snowboarding it's the sliding and also going sideways reduces the slope. but it would be nice to recreate this feeling of nicely controlling your speed by using turns.

These are good alternatives to e-scooters however the 1's with motors need a more durable motor & also power settings so you can avoid sometimes err? tricky situations

Interesting video, and so kind of you to use US imperial units for weights and speed. Now, for those of us in the rest of the world who use sensible units of measure, can we get future videos in kilograms and kilometers per hour?
Pretty cool, but I think the video was edited in a way that made it seem out of order, lol. Some of the transitions didn't make sense, and some segments seemed to to reference things that hadn't been mentioned yet. Also, a little confused about the "World record jump on a skateboard was 3.28 feet, and he had to build a special ramp" when the guy clearly goes well above that on the halfpipe, which the video clip even shows in text a minute or so later. 3.28 feet might be the highest flatland ollie (jump) though; I remember reading something like that years ago.
When I was a teenager man I love to board. I'm turning 50 in October I would love to try each and every one of them. And break every bone in my body! LOL

i have a flowboard and didn't know i had a flowboard until i watched this video and learned that i own a flowboard
I still have my Wheelman. Rode it for 13 years then fractured my hip on a bail. Mine was the crappy version tho. I took the brakes off bc it would slow down so hard as soon as you got off the gas lol the drive system in mine is terrible. A spindle of steel bars rotate through the tire treads to move it. Whoever thought that would be a good idea needs to be slapped a couple times.
with all these different design directions and the increasing power in electric skateboarding/scooters/bicycles, I am dreaming of a "portable ski-lift", allowing the skiers/snowboarders to climb snowy slopes with a "light" device, that you can carry like a backpack once you've reached the top of the mountains...Anybody knows if something like that already exists?
They have split snowboards.
They split into skis for cross country skiing up the mountain and then they go back together snowboard to go down the mountain. But some kind of powered ski system would be cool

I was going to recommend the OneWheel, it is similar to a skate board, but as the name suggests... its on one wheel. I have no clue wether you've seen it or not, but if you haven't then its a cool device you should see!
