I was living a block from the Galveston murder house during the first season of the Jinx. That ending is what true crime fans dream of when they start a doc.
This documentary is brilliant, both seasons. So, well done in every way as Jimmy Fallon commends in this interview. It's hard to have a "favorite" real life character. But, admittedly, the two twin law clerks made me laugh out loud every time they were sharing their commentary about , "Bob!!!!!!!" :)
I love how Jimmy makes his guest feel, I know all about the jinx but with Jimmy’s reaction it made me again very anxious about hearing these details again
They are ridiculously lucky that he never caught on that they heard his confession. There might have been some dead production crew members otherwise. Kudos to them for not only getting the confession and evidence but maintaining cool and professional heads during the whole process.
I do think there could have been an argument that “killed them all. ‘Course.” was said sarcastically. And I’m surprised they didn’t go with that argument. But that, along with listening to the entire conversation he has with himself in the bathroom, says it’s not sarcasm. If you had any doubts…..
The first thing he says on the hot mic is “You’re caught.” In other words, he is acknowledging that the handwriting evidence exposes him as Susan Berman’s killer.
You are right. That would be the obvious (and only?) explanation if you had been caught on tape saying that as Durst was. You say something like, 'Come on! Do you REALLY think I would have said that out loud even in the bathroom. I had just been interviewed by this guy; it was obvious he was trying to catch me in something and so I sarcastically said "Oh yeah, Bob you've been caught! I killed them all of course!" What Durst did (as you probably know) is try and claim he said "THEY'LL THINK I'VE killed them all of course." He just said the first part was not caught on tape.
There was a part during the trial they showed Andrew & Bob watching All Good Things together and Durst is giving his commentary... I only seen a few scenes but he should make a directors cut with the killer commentary! The 1st season was amazing, 2nd was good too but goin in not knowing anything ,you almost can't believe this stuff!
He did make a directors cut. The full movie with commentary is on the DVD version of ALL GOOD THINGS. I bought it on Amazon recently so I could watch it and boy was it worth it. Bob was really open about his opinions… very unguarded… it was insanity!
