Jenny, you are incredible. I love this block and the crazy ways you can change its looks. I have watched you faithfully for years and am so grateful for your example. I was a beginner and early on you didn't square up which made it less intimidating for me. As I grew, you changed too. I'm so very happy for you and Ron to enjoy retirement by doing mission work. Not surprising since you are a giver. Thank you for making Fridays fundays. 😊
Okay I think the Anvil block is now one of my favorites!!! All the possibilities!!! I was watching Jenny make the blocks and thought this could be such a cool quilt for a guy. Make it with manly colored fabrics. This is why I love quilting! All those what ifs that Jenny talks about!
I love this fabric! You did say this Anvil block has been around forever. Since 2014, I’ve been watching quilting tutorials, following quilters on Instagram and Etsy and many online quilt pattern stores, but I have never seen it before! Thanks for introducing this classic block to me, I love all three of those layouts!!!🎉🩵
Well the timing on this is great. We NEVER do this, but in honor of this super awesome tutorial from Jenny, we are gifting everyone the digital pattern of today’s project for FREE! You can download it here: d2v8skpstyl8bm.cloudfront.net/Digital+patterns/Scrappy+Anvil_FINAL.pdf?Newsletter_12272024&obem=439
I am awestruck with your talent😮 Thank you, Jenny, for taking the time and effort to make these tutorials before you left for your mission!! We pray for you and Ron as you are away, and pray for your safe return when you come home.❤
It’s such a pretty block and all three quilts are beautiful. I love William Morris and Kaffe Fassett so the collection is just perfect for me. The colours are absolutely gorgeous.
With all you had to do to prepare for your big mission trip, the fact that you did these ahead for us is so very thoughtful. Your love comes to us, ours goes back to you. Thank you!
Love this block and the many different ways it can be laid out. My favorite is the star layout. I would also snowball the corners of each unit to form a small square in the center of the white square.
I'm like the others-WOW! I like them all, but maybe my favorite is the star layout 💗💗 What a great idea if you might need quilts for 3 siblings! I can hang a 36" size in our bathroom so I might have to do that!!!
Thank you so much for showing all three versions of this quilt block. How versatile can you get?? This is wonderful. Thank you for filming some ahead and the one you and Ron did in Africa. Beautiful fabrics choices too.
The pairs of triangles look like butterflies to me and as Jenny showed the block I wondered to myself 'what if...' the 2 print squares were like the first unit only smaller? And I love the 'what if' layouts.
Beautiful quilts. Kinda busy with all the pieces. Might be because I’m sleepy lol. I’m saving this video tutorial and for sure, will make this. Thank you for your creations.❤❤
Oh I like the idea of making the 2 smaller quilts into a larger 72" square quilt by making four. I think I might just make myself one. Would make lovely seasonal table toppers also. Thanks for sharing Jenny.
I hope you and Ron had a wonderful Christmas. We need an. Update of how your mission is going. I did #jennyscountdowntochristmas2024 for the first time. I was so happy with everything.
Just a quick question: why would such a small quilt need so much fabric for the border and binding? By my estimation, it only would use 1/2 yard for binding.
How great to see you Jenny. You must have spent may hours pre-preparing before leaving on your Mission. Blessings.

Yes, there are truly not enough masculine quilts!
this quilt pattern reminds me of a jacob's ladder-- both in overall look and in how you can put it together in so many ways.

I see butterflies 🦋
I can see the one Jenny holds as a quick baby quilt
When trimming with the slotted trimmer: place your triangle in a "7" orientation, then cutting is up and over, instead of over and down.
Jenny... You forgot to set your seams!!!
But I love your video anyway...been watching you for years.... ♥️♥️♥️
