I have to agree. The Tiger (or any other adventure bike of this class) is surely fast enough for an adventure bike and if you want more get a street/sports bike. These are adventure bikes afterall. And of course there's always an option to do some tuning as well if you want to get even more oompf out of the engines. Besides, we've had this powerful adventure bikes only for a small while. Similar kind of bikes in the past were way less powerful and slower. These current ones are really fast and have a lot of power.
@@St3veWK I wear an Arai XD3. Best stock screen I've ever had. Up high on road down low off. Best do almost everything but hard single track bike...period.
All good and I like Tiger but ... Tiger with its 20L tank and fuell consumption of 5.2l/100km will take you around 240 mil, while AF Sport adv. with its bigger, 1100 cc engine, 4.9l/100km and tank of 24.8L, will go another 100 miles before refuelling. I didn't see any review so far where this would be mentioned and this seems to be rather important factor if you think of an adventure bike and going off-road more offen then staying on the tarmac. The KTM Adventure 790 R is right behind AF on power, torque and range, but at the lower price. It is also a bit lighter too.
The Tiger 900 has a 5.28 (20L)gallon tank, and gets 52.3mpg average. 5.28 x 52.3 = 276.144 miles to a tank. Africa Twin has a 6.5 gallon tank and gets 46mph, so it can go 299 miles on a tank. Thats only 23 miles more to a tank, not 100 miles. The Africa Twin makes more power, but the Tiger is lighter, giving it nearly the exact same power to weight ratio. Tiger is also way cheaper than the Honda. The KTM makes a tiny bit more power and is lighter than the Tiger, but the Tiger is cheaper at $12,500. KTM isn't winning any beauty pageants either The Tiger 900 is actually one of the best ADV's for the money in this particular segment
Hello guys, congratulations on TH-cam 100k subscribers, keep it going, honesty is the key. Question, do you think the previous generation of Tiger would have been more competitive for the Honda? Cheers from Scotland.
Bumer. I was expecting the Tiger 900 to be the winner on this one. I'd say you can't go wrong on either one. Where I'm from...you can either get the Tiger 900 Rally Pro, or the most basic AT, for just about the same money. I went with the Tiger for the offroad ability, and the equipment. Added, it was lighter with a bit more fuel capacity. My ridings on asphalt rarely exceeds 120, so at those speeds, fuel consumption is good on the Tiger. But....if anyone is looking at either...just test ride them, and chose the one you like the most.
I think I prefer the Tiger. If you want to spend hours in the saddle, day after day, the bike doesn't necessarily need to be "exciting", but does need to be comfortable. I tried the Africa Twin and found to feel very top heavy and cumbersome. Also, some of your footage looked like the AT suspension wasnt keeping the wheels in contact with the ground. Bit skippy ! Tiger for me.
Another point that is of note is that the Tiger comes with way more kit than the Africa. If you add everything up it could be close to 1500-2000€ difference.
I wish the Triumph was actually made in England or somewhere in Europe. No offense to Thailand or anything I just think they could do better quality control. Love the looks of the Triumph The AT does look like a much bigger bike but does look good. The dealer network and reliability of the Honda attract a lot of people.
Every Thai bike I've ever seen has had had exquisite QC, including my own personal Honda (albeit, the Honda costs 1/3 the Tiger). The 1200 and other big Triumphs are still made in the UK, if you want to put your money where your mouth is
Gregory Steffensen just seen and heard of a lot of negativity on the tiger which was made in Thailand. And on other smaller bikes with less going on then yes I’m sure they are fine. And I Have a couple Harleys and just had a WR450. I think I might sip some orange and go KTM for my next bike though. 1090R ! 💪🏻👊🏻
Don’t think you will find QC is an issue from Thailand the new Triumph bikes have top end quality components that could be assembled anywhere in the world.
If reliability is your priority - as it should be on an adventure bike, which is made to go on adventures -, I think we all know which bikes makes the most sense.
I have a question I can't figure out anywhere about the AT. When in Gravel or Off Road mode, the display says ABS Off Road. Most vids I have seen people say the ABS is now disabled, but in reality if you drive it where the display says ABS Off Road and intentionally fully engage the rear brakes you can still feel the rear ABS engaging somewhat. If you however in the gold screen under a User 1 or User 2 setting turn the ABS off where the bottom simpler display indicates with a light that ABS is now off, you only then get true ABS off where the rear whell will lock up under hard breaking. Does this maybe just mean the ABS off road circular display in the Gravel and Offroad modes are refering to a different type of intervention only for the front wheel. I don't knkw but this is really puzzling me.
Great video. I from Brasil. I bought Tiger, but Africa ia very strong bike. I chose this motocycle because i will riding more time um the city and highway. Hug to everyone.
I got the tiger 1200 now I'm thinking it is just to large to be practical in the true adv aspect at least for me on the highway its very good but not maybe for technical riding the 900 is probably better for me
The AT you tested, has 10kgs of crash bars, maybe more. I can be wrong, but the manual AT is probably lighter then the Triumph. Most important, congratulations for the TH-cam awards!
God Bless you mate Cristian, R.I.P

I'd say you can't go wrong on either one.
Where I'm from...you can either get the Tiger 900 Rally Pro, or the most basic AT, for just about the same money.
I went with the Tiger for the offroad ability, and the equipment. Added, it was lighter with a bit more fuel capacity.
My ridings on asphalt rarely exceeds 120, so at those speeds, fuel consumption is good on the Tiger.
But....if anyone is looking at either...just test ride them, and chose the one you like the most.
Trank you for all the fantastisch Reports.
Congrats on 100k subs. I enjoy your production and edit. Congrats to the staff
I like your honesty and the way you parley
I think I prefer the Tiger. If you want to spend hours in the saddle, day after day, the bike doesn't necessarily need to be "exciting", but does need to be comfortable. I tried the Africa Twin and found to feel very top heavy and cumbersome. Also, some of your footage looked like the AT suspension wasnt keeping the wheels in contact with the ground. Bit skippy ! Tiger for me.
The new triple firing order sounds way nicer than it used to too!
Well i loved the whistle
Quality of video is excellent!
Salut,merge si in oras motorul?
Much love from the Philippines. Keep up the good work guys and Congratulations!
love the side angle view through the trees!
I enjoy your reviews. keep up the good work.
I love this channel, keep up the good work guys! Greetings from Colombia
Another point that is of note is that the Tiger comes with way more kit than the Africa. If you add everything up it could be close to 1500-2000€ difference.
If you want go eat big mac at McDo both are great bike
Which motorcycle on the Pamir Highway: Honda Africa Twin 1100 adventure sport or Triumph Tiger 900 rally pro??
Thanks for amazing presentation! Fair conclusion!
Amazing production guys!
Always great videos guys
I was planning to buy tiger 900 but now I am bit confused because of vibration....should I wait for next edition..Can you suggest me pls..
Don't mind the vibration. Not too disturbing. Just enough to notice them
DriveMag Riders Thank you...
all this done in the AT DCT model; impressive tech.
Fantastic thoughts on these bikes. Thanks
If reliability is your priority - as it should be on an adventure bike, which is made to go on adventures -, I think we all know which bikes makes the most sense.
Congrats on the 100k! I really enjoy your channel and the reviews. Looking forward to hearing about the 1,000k subs!
Did you guys have issues with heat coming from the fan forced radiators on the Tiger? 30c+ weather temps would roast knees.
Did you get any vibration on the footpegs or handlebars at 4500 revs on the road? Helen
Great video. I from Brasil. I bought Tiger, but Africa ia very strong bike. I chose this motocycle because i will riding more time um the city and highway. Hug to everyone.
Excellent review of bikes and congratulations on 100ks subscriber's just subscribed
no price comparison ???
I got the tiger 1200 now I'm thinking it is just to large to be practical in the true adv aspect at least for me on the highway its very good but not maybe for technical riding the 900 is probably better for me
Agree i have the 1200 and its just too big for offroad-great on the hwy...
Great Channel. Hugs from a Brazilian fan
The AT you tested, has 10kgs of crash bars, maybe more.
I can be wrong, but the manual AT is probably lighter then the Triumph.
Most important, congratulations for the TH-cam awards!
