I would have no hesitation in choosing to fly with an airline using the A380. In business and economy classes, I have always found the A380 the most stress-free aircraft by FAR, on which to fly. In fact I have enjoyed every minute of all my flights as an A380 passenger, no matter where my seat was. It is spacious, comfortable and quite astoundingly quiet, even during take-off acceleration.
Both QANTAS and BA need to lift their game. Living in Perth, I prefer the Middle Eastern Airlines plus Singapore Airways to and from Europe. Business class is a very cost effective way to travel and the A380 is a lovely aircraft. I have to say that I find US carriers the worst in the world for attitude, service and comfort, apart from the dodgy budget carriers of course!
British Airways have been interested in increasing the A380 fleet since the Willie Walsh days. Then they were interested in up to an additional 12 aircraft but the cost of new frames was said to be too expensive although it was said that second hand units could do the job except at that time there weren’t any. Then came COVID and the BA fleet ended up deserted on an airfield in France. Now it would appear that there are a number of pre-used airframes available with RR engines , they are probably the cheapest seats in the sky from an Aquisition point of view, especially when one is the only customer for them so, doubling the fleet, even incurring the cost of updating the cabins and bringing them up to BA standard still makes commercial sense. Only time will tell whether or not BA acquire more A380’s but it still wouldn’t surprise me😊
There are so many false statements and misunderstandings in this video. One reason BA kept its A380’s is because it had to retire its huge and ageing 747 fleet and the only aircraft to match it in capacity was the 380’s which are much younger. It’s also struggling to meet capacity due to lack of aircraft and the ongoing delays with the 777X. BA would have junked the 380’s years ago if they didn’t need the capacity.
Re-engined with Rolls Royce forthcoming brilliant engines would transform the 380's economic and ecological dynamics and ensure a much longer life for this extraordinary aircraft .
Full of errors; no one is checking this shit before it goes out. It's just quantity over quality, and the YT algorithm favours lots of quantity. Irrespective.

Yes I think British airways is doing the right thing with the A380 especially when Lufthansa and Emirates and QATAR airways are all keeping their A380S fleets so it makes sense that British airways is doing the same especially when the other airlines are upgrading the insides of the planes completely and they wouldn’t do it the didn’t think there was enough demand from passengers to use the planes and for the airlines to make money but the other thing is that there’s a lot more space on the A380 for passengers than any other big aircraft the only plane that comes close is the 747-830 and it’s another plane that Lufthansa is keeping the late 2040S and it’s the same with the 747-430 Lufthansa is keeping both of them because they can make good money from them and it’s the airlines should be keeping the A380S
In the meantime I don’t recommend flying BA. I just came back from Washington DC on one of the A380s with my wife in business and both business class seats were dead / no power / nothing worked. Nothing ! Oh say the crew, yes there are 10 seats on this particular aircraft that ‘simply don’t work’ that’s 2 flights a day that BA knowingly sells to their (now ex) premium paying customers twice a day and the poor crew get it in the neck every single flight and they hate it and are ashamed that BA puts them in this position, the compensation game gets played and everybody loses. Including BA. Even the crew echo my thoughts that BA is NOT the British flagship. For a long time it’s become complacent, boring, old-fashioned, they talk too much and don’t deliver. I have zero confidence that the new fit out will be leading in the industry. It will be out of date before it’s fitted. Only the fatties whose companies madly continue to agree to pay those business class fares fly BA and whose identity is solely based on the colour of their frequent flyer card, continue to fly on BA. You’re welcome lads (and lasses). Anyway, I always avoid BA now, I suggest you do too… fly east to the Middle East and Asia, those airlines know how to look after their customers….
What this video actually does is identify the reasons this aircraft only works for certain airlines, emirates and to a much much lesser extent BA can make it work. Long haul with one huge hub and a lot of people who are willing to spend money going.
How can this claim that Global Airlines "heavily utilise the A380 for their long haul routes" - they have one A380 that hasn't yet made a commercial flight. On that basis I struggle to know what is and isn't credible in this posting.
i would wager part of this is driven by the departure of the 747 from their fleet during the pandemic etc, and the current uptick trend of passenger numbers on principle routes.
If only airlines will get their mothballed aircrafts back into service instead of trying to outdo each other with new aircraft, the world and environment will be much better. They endeavours to tempt customers with new aircraft is motivated by greed!
