I had one of those, probably the best car i ever had. Kept up with my mates new Porsche Camen and blew the hot hatched into the dust. Sub 16mpg though so expensive to run nowadays, top speed 130+ easy and 0-90 in second year was not even on the rev limiter!! Sold it when the water pump bearing went, so sad to see it go😕
Nice one guys. I can't believe what is more surprising, the amount of corrosion, or the fact it started. I can't think of the last time I saw an MX6, hopefully it'll feature in future videos. Cheers.
I had a MX6 in the later 2000’s. I miss the sonorous and high revving 2.8L V6 and the 90’s aero stying. It was a really fun car. I haven’t seen one on the road for years now.
Car seems to be way too far gone, unfortunately. Bought this to keep my two other JDM KLZE 4WS MX6's running, one is fully restored and resprayed to original color, the other is still work in progress. Parts are quite far to find, though, especially for the 4WS system.
There’s regular Japanese rust. And then there’s Mazda rust. It’s special. As a seasoned MX5 owner I’m all too familiar with it. The trick is cutting back to the solid metal to weld new steel to. Very often there’s nothing there that’s viable. Especially at this age. You basically end up recreating the entire car from the roof downwards 😂.

The corrosion is terrible. I'm not sure we will do anything with it, even though its a decent car and it surprised me how nice it drove.

Great video guys. I still have my 94 MX6 LS..104,000 miles, it’s been a great car.
It’s probably more reliable than those rovers
Looks like a good project, looks like it’s got more rust on the underside than the Titanic though.
Yeah we aren't sure what we are going to do with it. The chassis rails under the boot floor are non existent.
@@crap_car taking it to an MOT station would be pretty funny if you pretended you thought there was nothing wrong with it.
@@orbwheelsandwatches That's a good idea!

That's a JDM mx6 with the KLZE engine and LSI front lip and LSi side pods.
Almost bought 1 a few years ago... Deep metallic red.

Yup. The chassis rails under the boot floor are non existent so I'm certain it won't be a resto project.
