      Hey I have a question what type of stingray is it? And if it happens to be a teacup what size tank is that. I’m looking into getting myself a 200 - 240 gallon tank for a stingray. Just want to know if I’m reading good info online.

    • @LongIslandFishGuy
      @LongIslandFishGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Duck Studio's This is a Marble Motoro mixed with an Aparacio. It would be expected to get between 10-14 inches MAX! A 200-240 gallon tank should be fine for teacup type rays or even some of the other rays, specifically males because they stay smaller than females

      Alright I’ll look into that and thank you for the tank size there were very mixed conclusions on what size tank you should have online

    Question, I am getting my first motoro stingray pup. I just bought it yesterday and picking up in 1month. To give me time to get my tank ready. My city water comes out of the tap with a ph of around 8 to 8.2. I also have a rodi system for my reef tank and wondering if I should be using 100% rodi water for my ray, half tap half rodi, not use rodi at all? If using 100% rodi water what type of trace elements should be added back into the water? I am leaning towards half rodi half tap water. That should bring my ph down to the low 7's. What are the water parameters across the board that you keep your Rays at?
    Thanks in advance
    Thank you in advance. I

    • @LongIslandFishGuy
      @LongIslandFishGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You really don’t need RODI water for your ray. Test your tap water 24 hours out of the tap in a cup or something. You’ll get the true read then. My rays are kept anywhere between 6.0 and 7.2

    • @VikingsFan27
      @VikingsFan27 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LongIslandFishGuy thanks for getting back to me. I have several other tanks set up. I know that my ph is high. If I don't use rodi water, what do you suggest I do to keep a constant ph of 6.5ish. I know from experience that chasing ph is not the thing to do. So I am wondering what you recommend for taking very hard water and making it safe for my ray? Thanks again.
