I have said it before and I will say it again - you are the true king of spinning tops. I admire your craftsmanship and passion for these things. With the knowledge you have putting so much hours into to your tops you sure deserve more subscribers and views. I still would like you to go bigger and and also use magnets to even prolonger the spin times. The 14 kg / 5 hour long spin I did was shamefully unbalanced - you could do so much better with less weight.
+Cobrakiller2000, thank you, you are always very kind. I would like to experiment with some larger tops, (also much larger), and probably I will do it, sooner or later. I know that larger and heavier tops spin for longer time. Some months ago I tried a little top, suspended to a magnet, (as you have done), but in the vacuum system; it didn't spin for long as I expected, and didn't try again. Your 5 hours spin has been fantastic, I don't think that it would be easy to beat it.
Maybe I will make another video, about how to balance a top modifying its distribution of weight. There are some considerations not so obvious and not very commonly known, about the effect of adding or removing weight from one side of a spinning top, and a video would be interesting, I think.
+Luna Moon , you are lucky, in the next days I will upload a new video, about 15 minutes long, explaining some other methods for balancing a top, using weight, not only static balance but also dynamic balance. Filing the tip is just for the kind of tops I usually make, but in the other cases often it is not a suitable method.

Simply awesome.... Just loved it..

very nice! i hope to have at least a small lathe soon so i can make some tops at home, not just on my lunch breaks :)
+Flyingwigs , thank you ! Good luck for the lathe, and have fun !

I would love to to see a video of how to balance a top by moving weight I make tops with a bearing tip and filing isn't an option

I think it's time to sharpen my top's tip. I will buy some diamond files soon and report back on my progress!
If you see my other video about how to fix unbalance in spinning tops, you can get more complete info about the process.
