Uh, no! Many of us prefer the MUCH simpler method of pressing a simple button / control rather than faffing about like a mental person talking in specific phrases just to adjust something that should be instantly adjustable with a proper control.

If you want that jump when you step on the gas pedal, select “dynamic” as the drive mode. The default is “comfort” which is exactly what it does, comfortable and not quick off the mark. I have the T6, 316 hp with 295 lbs. torque, supercharged and turbocharged. When in “dynamic”, I can take most regular daily driver around. Just be careful because it will run you into the guy in front when you’re not used to it.

I've owned a volvo for 3 years. It drives well. Everything that I want to improve is the back seat. I want it to recline so that I can sit more comfortably
I love the 2 tone steering wheel, I just wipe mines down when I clean the seats & wash the xc60. I love the ivory interior…… almost every other suv in America has black interior 😢.
This review was soooo spot on! I recently purchased this model and found the exact same love/hate items. I would like to add that I wish the trunk was more intuitive when using the foot/open close function. The keys have to be with you, and I have to swing my foot way too many times. Also, the screen needs to power down mid-trip too often, which turns off the entire system until rebooted, When using navigation, I find it both scary and aggravating to have to reboot while driving.
Thank you for your comments from experience. I’m down to the nitty and gritty and it looks like it’s betw xc60 and the Cadillac xt5 (might even look at the xt4) and the Audi Q5
I am an owner of already 4-th Volvo (V40CC, XC40, S90 and XC60 T8 now) and I can say with confidence, if you want to feel real Volvo driving experience you should install Polestar Optimization package at the moment of purchase. This will completely change your perception of driving Volvo and responsiveness of the car.
Just say “Hey Google do this do that…” This works for temperature, heated seats, steering wheel, Google Maps, Radio, Phone… no need to go into the screen, best part of the Volvo product! You can also control other Google smart devices connected to the same Google account like the Nest in your house for heating or house alarm systems, all from the car…
Thanks for the vid! I do agree on the gearbox downshift lag when being aggressive on the throttle. As for the long beams not being in full auto mode every time you jump in the car, my guess is it’s a law abiding thing: at least in my country and other European neighbors I’ve driven at, long beams can’t be used inside town areas… so no matter how dark the street is, you can’t use long beams… so i guess they left it up to the driver do decide whether that area you’re driving at is suitable for such lighting on your car or not… as a Spanish driver, I do prefer the long beams to be off unless I need (and can) use them :)
@@fidelbanuelos9601 hahaha fair enough! You’ve made me look it up… and you’re right! I should have said “high beams”, not “long”… I dunno where I got that from, but I’ve though I was saying that correctly for ages 🤦♂️
Some reflections, and it might have to do with the trim levels of the car, but… I have a 2023 XC. I can keep the auto headlights on when i start the car the next day, and you can adjust the temperature and seat heating using the buttons on the display-you don’t need to bring up the main view for temperature. I’m an Apple user and I’ve just installed the apps in the car, and they work really well. I think many of the issues you're having are due to a lack of familiarity. Have you gone through all the settings you can adjust in the car? If you set the light control to auto before starting the car, then activate the automatic high beams and switch back to auto, you won’t need to do this again. The high beam automation will be set as default.
Question, I’m in talks with a dealer about getting a new xc60 2024 just wanted to see if anyone here had the primer package at no extra cost meaning it already comes with the car or did you have to pay. Because i do not see it as an option on the Volvo website. The only packages i see is climate.
Cons debug: 1. Learning curve... 2. Doesn't need to play with temperature. AC-on, Temp at say 21 (Europe) onece in it's life time... 3. Wireless car play, Agree! 4. The 3 layer battery is in there ;) 5. It was like that on Buik Regal (Opel Insignia in EU) 6. Agree, but was your choice to have it white :D 7. Agree 8. T8 is your friend here :(
The devil is in detail. I was really close to buy this car but after seeing this video I am questioning now. Do I want to spend so much money on a car and then to live for the next 5-10y with 1-2s delays, unintuitive and unreliable OS, slow charging, limited 180km speed drive, no essential buttons, the expensive unlocking battery in case of collision… Thank you for your honest review and for saving me money 😉
I have a 2024 s60 as a rental for a month with 400 miles and it doesn’t have wireless CarPlay either lol. You’re positives and negatives are just about the same as me I know this is just the car but there is zero difference in your pov from what I’m driving to what your driving. Also what I hate is I can’t dim the big screen at night.. it’s on dark mode but when it’s really dark it’s to bright. Another negative is it’s slow af. The transmission is made for my grandparents… there is zero point in manual shifting it almost makes it feel broken it shifts so slow and clunky. Overall if my parents wanted a car I’d say go for it but also give them a lesson on how to adjust the heat and ac since they would never figure that out.
I completely agree about the interior color especially on the steering wheel. I’ve owned mine for almost 5yrs and around yr 3 the steering got really disgusting no matter how I clean it. The seatbelts also get pretty dirty too. Can’t wait to upgrade with black interior
I almost got the light interior!!! So thankful now, that I didn't. I just wanted something different. Never considered that the steering wheel would eventually be regretful. 😉
I have the exact some Aisin transmission in my Peugeot 3008 2021. It's possible to select a driving mode (eco/normal/sport) for your current needs. I am pretty sure Volvo also has some similiar solution to your complain.
12 V battery charging issues popping up for tge last year. I just purchased one and within a month it shows a severe warning alert. Very disappointing!

I appreciate the video but honestly, if anyone is reviewing this car and think the high beam function is too labour intensive then they should drive a ‘70’s car.
We have a '22 S90 and a 3 day old '23 XC90... the Google OS in these cars is NOT what you'd expect. It is very limited and frequently not useful. We live in a large metropolitan area with great cell coverage and BOTH cars are frequently "out of coverage" (apparently there is limited or no onboard processing).
