What's the point of using a clickbait title? In any case, I've had the car for three weeks and the only downsides I've found are the center console software (comparing to other cars), the rattling of the center console, and a slight disappointment in its leaning on mountain roads (asphalt). However, aside from those minor issues, the car is great overall. Its smooth ride encourages you to stay calm and drive carefully.
I have never enjoyed driving any vehicle my entire life until I drove this. It truly focuses on providing a comfortable and enjoyable ride in every way and its the best looking SUV currently in the market.
I have owned the 2022 XC 60 B5 Inscription for 3 weeks now, and I absolutely love this car ! Its a smooth ride and comfortable. My favorite is the heated steering wheel. I suffer from Raynaud’s and the entire wheel is heated not just the 9 and 5 positions like other manufacturers. Reading some of others comments about google and apple lacking, is not a deal breaker for me .
@@FrankCalvano Not sure I would drive 3 hours for any car. I have 3 Volvo dealerships all close to my home. It’s a great car with awesome fuel economy.
I’m currently driving 2016 S60 T5 inscription. Had this as a loaner from my dealership, mine was being serviced. Has a lot more features then mine, it did drive really nice. Would eventually like to get an SUV.
I got the late release 2022 extended battery XC60 Recharge in late March. LOVE it! I drove my first 1200 miles using only 1/2 tank of gas and only filled it up because I was planning a 500 mile roadtrip -- which took only 1 tank of gas with 90 miles to spare. So worth the extra $$ when premium gas is selling for $5.60/gallon. It does have SiriusXM and they're promising Apple Carplay within the next few months (today is 6/10/22). Having said all that, It's been in the shop several times replacing faulty parts. In fact, it's there right now getting some telecommunications parts replaced. They've given me an XC60 (mild hybrid) as a loaner and I was averaging 31 mpg today in that car. It was fine but I missed the 40+ miles of EV and the 455 hp of my XC60 Recharge.
I can say I own the xc90 R Design 2019 and only had one issue with the air suspension that was a known defect that was repaired under warranty otherwise no issues whatsoever. It was made in Sweden. Very happy with it. When I researched I read about so many issues however never experienced them.
I have a 2018 xc60 T6 r-design. I have had no problems at all at 51,000 miles. Get nothing but compliments on it. Front seats are the most comfortable I’ve ever sat in.
We are thinking about purchasing a 2018-2019 Volvo XC60 T8. Is there any known defects when buying a used one? I own a 2008 S80 with 90k miles, and the seats are so comfortable. Like the comment below, Volvo truly does make the best seats(there are engineered by orthopedics). we have an economic followed loaded Mazda6 while it is more modern, and very nice. Nothing beats the quality of Volvo everything is so solid and well made. Best car I’ve ever owned and I will never sell it. My question to you guys in the comments is there anything I should be aware of if my mom decides to purchase this new body style T8 specifically we want the T8 XC60? Thank you all.
In Europe xc suv has had CarPlay etc since 2021 atleast that I know of. I do have both android auto and wired Apple CarPlay on my 2023 xc60 recharge plus
My wife got this car and absolutely loves it. Besides a few quirks with the remote start and computer bugs (that are being fixed as updates are pushed) it’s great. Quirks are to be expected when you get an overhauled computer system and a bit of a test pilot for the entire new system. Just be aware of that but enjoy the ride
I have had the 22 XC60 Inscription since 10/21, and satellite radio was always ready and working. The informtainment system still shows one channel while playing another when using Sirius XM....big lag in updating the screen after changing the channel. No Apple car play OTA update as of today ...which is highly annoying since I have used that feature in my last 3 vehicles.
I am considering a used 2022 Volvo CX60 and I’m so glad I came across this video. I would read the description and wondered what the google interface and now I know!! It would definitely be a CON for me, because I am an iphone user and have apple car play in another car. Thanks for all the other info you provided; now I will go and test drive one!!
Just some features that I dislike about the Volvo 2022 B6: 1. brake- stoping from 3km/h to 0km/h gives a very harsh stop. Like the emergency brake get involved. Not comfortable. 2. Steering- like BMW X4 the steering is light, which I like it. But Volvo terns more than my BMW X4. I need to correct myself very time I drive it. 3. Infotainment system- no Apple CarPlay and android auto. Integrated sound and AC into that system. I cannot easily turning on AC or choose input during driving. I have to keep my eye on the screen and get into each sub menu to do what I want. It is like I have to use my phone during driving and it is not safe.
Test drove one today and going back next week for it. I typically use apple car play for google maps so this integration is nice. I was told by the salesman that there will be an over the air update to add apple carplay in the next 2-3 months so yeah itll have it soon. Today is 4/23/22
I went today to my local Volvo dealer (5/30/2022) and I had the same question/concern about the Apple Car Play; the salesman told me the same thing; it will be up-graded into the car in 3 months. I ask him to send me an official letter from Volvo stating this! Let’s see……
One from polestars management team has just posted a picture of apple carplay in his own polestar. So I think they are doing beta tests now and it soon will come out.
I have the XC40 Recharge as well. Google's AAOS is barely beta. First, a major update is coming in April to fix the LTE/GPS loss issue, and this issue happens on the new XC60 as well. This has been a pain for too many owners. Second, many of the features that were readily available with a swipe in Sensus are now buried in menus - not safe to drill down while driving, and you'd think that anythink you can toggle on/off would be available with Google Voice - nope. Third, in one of the updates last year, the ability to toggle on/off Pilot Assist when Adaptive Cruise Control is on was taken away. You have to drill down into the menus and either set PA to always on when you use ACC or always off with ACC. WHY? A great example of a solution in search of a problem. There are MANY times where PA does not work well due to lack of clear road lines - but ACC works well on those roads. Being able to toggle PA on/off with your left thumb was not only convenient but safe. Now, you have to drill down into menus while driving to turn PA on or off. Absurd decision - just make it so the driver can choose when to have it always tied to ACC and when not to, and bring back the thumb activiation of PA.
@@cosettapessa6417 No. it downloads when you drive. When you install it, you have to lock the doors. The doors will be able to be unlocked when the install is done.
Had problems with entire computer screen and dashboard when purchased. Went blank or pink green. Crazy. Fixed 2 months later with new software update. Can't get cruise control to work without pilot assist.
Just bought a S60 B5 last month and I have Apple car play but you must plug into the USB port to work and I have SiriusXM. My first Volvo and I love everything about it.
My 2021 XC 60 Rdesign T6 is in the shop now for service. I have this exact car as a loaner, except its a B5 and it doesn’t have the advanced package. That means that the back up camera is left on the lower half of the center stack screen, and the other half is left dark. I find this to be very disorienting, and I also find there’s a lot of glare, because of the dark screen. The Sound system is fantastic, however, I couldn’t find how to turn off the auto stop start, which affects the quality of the sound as a disengages other speakers. I found that to be very annoying, when I came to a stop at any light, especially because I enjoy music. The lack of drive mode is also a step backward. That being said, this SUV is by far, my favorite SUV on the market right now. Thanks for all the great videos by the way, I’m always looking forward to them.
I usually never do any comments but this video begged for my response. I have now had my 2022 xc60 for 2 years and I can say most of the bugs have been worked out. I also have the B6 inscription model and I love the power and as for mileage I averaged 25 mpg on a 1500 trip to Arizona and driving in most of Arizona’s city driving and back home for another 1500 miles. The ride is great and the seats are the best, I recommend the air suspension it’s so nice. My big complaint is there is no compass. The Google Maps does have a little arrow on the left side of the screen with the little arrow having a red indicator showing North. Driving in multiple lanes we should have a real compass! I told Volvo about this and they basically said the little arrow with the red part pointing North should be sufficient. Mine stickered at just under 72K. Hope it helps and yes I now have Sirius and AppleCar Play took awhile to get it.
I've been thinking of getting a S60 or XC60, but I've read a lot of comments on reliability issues, which prevents me to take a step closer. I know if I test drive one I'll fall in love with it, but longer term ownership is a concern. Any thoughts of experienced owners of Volvos?
We’ve had one from Jan 2021 and it’s been really good but it’s an old T4 with just a turbo and the last non-google system. The infotainment wasn’t bad but I think the google one looks more intuitive. I think they both have their share of bugs but they’re very sporadic. The car itself is actually incredible. It’s not the most fun to drive (but I hear the new ones are fast as hell) but it’s just comfy and bare nice. Like I don’t think I can express how much I love the look from the outside and the general ergonomics on the inside
We got our 2022 Volvo XC60 B6 Inscription in January. Love the look and the car. However we have had some bugs with the Google interface. It does not respond to voice and you can’t tap the screen to listen to a new text message. This all started after the most recent over the air update. Around April 17th
hi team, when we use the volvo xc60 rear parking, the park-in and park out option does not come in the volvo x60 android 2022 version. What to do ? plus i am not able to open the boot behind automatically, we need to use the leg from right to left and open doesnt open all the times. make a video on how to use all the features in volvo x60 2022 edition
I got my 2022 XC60 B6 Inscription in October 2021. It’s been amazing. I love the google system. I’ve been following the updates closely, and Volvo has promised the OTA update for apple CarPlay and android auto by the end of Q1 of 2022. We’ll see. It’s not a dealbreaker but I would like the update. This is an amazing vehicle.
Bought a 2021 XC60 last Fall. I could wait for a 2022 model but picked the ‘21 model exactly due to Google integration and lack of CarPlay support. Also prefer the rear bumper design of the ‘21 model.
I am an iPhone user. I have a Google home thing at home but I’m NOT an android user. Do you know if the ‘23 or 2024s are truly apple car play ready, or is there some lag I heard about?
As an owner I would sum up the car like this: Nice exterior styling, pleasant interior, great seating, fairly economical operation, soft handling and infotainment system software that drags down an otherwise very likable package.
Traded in my 2020 Volvo XC40 Inscription for a 2022 Volvo XC60 B6 Inscription. I traded in for a slightly bigger car - (I loved the xc40) I absolutely love the drive of the XC60 B6 it has a much faster pick up without having to put it in a special gear like the XC40 did. My XC40 had the older infotainment system and with the volvo app it was pretty seamless for the abilities it provided. Im noticing with my XC60 that the google services are a little more limited on features/controls. One huge downside that I am experiencing is the app is no longer notifying when the doors are left unlocked - hopefully they will fix that soon.(apple car play is in this car as of 8/2022 and as well as XM)
@@Fishercan Yes, I have had a few infotainment glitches with the XC60 model since I purchased the car. They just released a new update and after I installed there were a few new glitches that came up in addition to the ones before.
@Ercan Huseyin I wouldn't say I'm 100% satisfied. I love the body style of this car. The cars b6 turbo engine is awesome, so quick to excelerate, much faster than my xc40 b5 engine. The downside is the tech glitches, but overall, I would say 95% out of 100%. If they keep enhancing the tech and fixing the infotainment bugs then it's worth buying/keeping.
Hey apart from the tech, how would you say is the xc40 different in form of, comfort, seating comfort, usability, parking, agility to the Xc60? Which one would you pick used? I like both but can't decide. Pricewise they don't differ too much
One thing I'm curious about is the dash display. It seems that nothing can be shown there if you don't want to show the map on it. And there are some saying that if you lose digital package subscription, you cannot use the map at all
This was an excellent review. I actually own the '22 XC90 and after watching the video and reading many of these comments, I am really glad my car has the old Sensus UI instead of the Google-fied one. I think I would be miserable with the new Google activated system. I toyed with Android Auto on occasion with my '19 XC90 and thought it was pretty terrible, starting with how clunky and out of sync the UI performed and looked against the flow of the XC's interior styling. This new UI does not have the look of a Volvo IMHO and I hope that Volvo will give the user the option to choose which UI to use (but I certainly will not hold my breath on that one).
The Volvo XC60 T8!Polestar Engineered trim level also has a crystal gearshift. This variant’s gear shifter, Is specially designed with his own inscription. Thank you for such a comprehensive report. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned much.
Thanks for the review, I have a 2019 S60 T6, My wife the XC40 so its safe to say we love Volvo. We love our cars but the XC60 has gotten my attention, I think its perfect and I have one on my bucket list for down the road. Love your review, very well done.
This is a BIG thing for me, and it seems does not work… the sales man told me to get an adaptor, did not work; the. Told me to get a pen drive, did not work. Now is telling me to to get a cable… 🙄 if I knew I will have this issue I won’t get this car.
Call me crazy but I prefer the 2018-2021 XC60. Volvo has deleted many previous standard features (scroll wheel drive selector, rearview mirror compass, matching leather wrapped keyfobs, front headlight bumper washer nozzles, etc.). The R-Design and Inscription trims from those years were gorgeous.
Removed driving record in the app, removed the ability to see where the car is located in the app, removed the ability to change between pilot assist and adaptive cruise control on the steering wheel.. I agree, so far the previous system was better.
Thanks for the review, the whole google thing doesn't make very excited, you mention in the review that there are better SUV's in the twisty's, I am wondering, what are a couple that you would recommend that fit that bill while still being a decent daily driver?
I have the '21 model XC60. I love it and it is my daily driver. Yes, the map feature is not the Android, but I find it adequate. Usually I Just use the Apple Car Play feature if I'm going on a short trip. However, it does not use the full screen and I wish it did. My biggest complaint is that for the price point, there is no remote rear seat release from the rear compartment. Which means that you have to open the rear side door and manually fold the seats. A royal PIA. Come on Volvo, even my wife's Honda CRV has a rear cable release!
I’ve had my 2022 Volvo XC 60 for a year now I’ve put 26,000 miles on it and it’s a good car overall I like it it’s just packed with issues reliability wise. It’s at the dealer once a month with issues from the AC going out to the infotainment system are going out interior pieces falling off and the list goes on but I do like the way the car drives.
Great review! Having worked at Volvo and owned a lot of them (brand new and older), i'm usually left feeling a bit underwhelmed. Currently driving a 2022 V60 B4 and a 2021 BMW 330e. More times than i can count i end up behind the wheels of the BMW... Volvo makes great looking cars, that comfortably take you from A to B, but that's about it unfortunately.
I drove 330e yesterday but even that it is really nice the hybrid side is way behind Volvo. For everyday use I choose Volvo. BMW has more up to date screens and software in my mind but not that much. Have to say also that the 330e was not even close when it comes to responsiveness when speeding up.
As a former Volvo employee you probably know well more than me that having a vehicle that comfortably (and safely) takes you from A to B, is just fine with Volvo's target demographic. There's nothing unfortunate about it. The cars being great looking is an added bonus.
@@Singularityv616 Absolutely, the fact that it can and will take you reliably from A to B is a strong point. However, it feels souless in every other aspect from a enthusiast perspective.. They sure are nice to look at though.
It gave us only 30km range b4 hybrid engine kicks in. Fuel economy was not great, lots of issues over 10mos, although I loved the look of the car I'm glad I sold it.
Congrats for video. I have a XC60 T8 Rdesign 2020 which is very nice. No problems until now after 17000 km. Good quality inside. Very fast being plugin hybrid. However noisy supercharge engine and if you use the charging mode operation is even louder .....better avid this mode. Steering is good, but don't expect too much. Comfort is very good on good roads , air suspension is quite firm. Infotainment I consider being very good.
Speed limits are wrong 70% of the time, which means the speed limiter is totally unuseable. To change pilot assist to acc to speed limiter means hands off wheel, and three touches of the main screen. No audible warning of excess speed. These are definitely a retrograde step.
CAN WE PLEASE GET AN UPDATE ON THE C30? Did you sell it? Did you ever fix the rubbing issue? Did it die? That series was the reason I bought my c30 and I really really miss those videos. I need closure :(
Make sure you subscribe to our Shifting Lanes 2 TH-cam channel. That’s where we have project car videos and updates. An update to the c30 is coming soon.
@@ShiftingLanes Awesome can't wait! I think I am having a similar problem with my c30. I rub at almost full lock but only when I turn my wheel to the right, I took a look at the caster and it is slightly off, not as bad as yours was but noticeably off. I'm really hoping it isn't the subframe.
Test drove this car here in Aus. Volvo Australia offer the google services on a subscription basis, free for 4 years. Only problem, they couldn’t tell me how much the ongoing subscription would cost once the four years was up, and also couldn’t tell me what features were subscription based. I didn’t like the infotainment system much, pinch to zoom while driving…Really? And as you demonstrated it’s not very smooth. Also didn’t like the navigation relying solely on mobile data. Lots of remote places in Aus with no phone reception. Ok in the city. Drove very nicely though. Oh, and the reason they don’t have apple car play or Android integration? so you have to pay the subscription when it expires.
I have a XC60 as a rental car, it feels like sitting in a F1-car, barely room to get the seat-belt locked in, too high for bad knees, who can'tbend properly, leg room between seat, wheel and pedals. All in all, I've far more room to sit, in my tiny Honda Jazz. The Jazz feels inside like a bus, compared to the Volvo. If this space problem wouldn't exist, the build in Google/NSA-connection is an absolute no-go, it's a absolute killer to any thought about purchasing one.
At first I was hesitant about getting the 2021 XC60 before the refresh model started hitting dealer lots, but I decided to do it anyways (was also able to take advantage of the 0.99% financing offer too) but I don't think I missed out on too much. As nice as the new OS seems, the lack of Apple CarPlay along with the issues people have been experiencing on the forums would have me waiting for the next model year or looking closer at the competitors.
To be on the safe side you should look at the other brands for sure. I recently worked in the Volvo service department I've seen a lot of problems the past 2 years
Good description, we had constant problems, in 1st month, Dealer kept the car for 3weeks trying tires/wheels properly balanced but couldn't which lead me to thinking the car had an axle or driveshaft problem. Numerous software updates. Although I loved the exterior appearance of the car, interior features were less than you'd expect from a $60k vehicle. So happy to be rid of it!
EXCELLENT Review! You answered some of my questions, especially around the Android based infotainment system. Good to know that the wireless charger does a good job. Now if they could only add wireless Android Auto! By the way, you said it doesn't have Android Auto. Is there an over the air update to download Android Auto? Thanks!
Had 2022 xc60 inscription model for about 6 weeks and had to find a solution with my dealer to return and went with a xc90 2022. This was all due to the google built in system that ran solely off Rogers cell coverage, which I did not have in my area so the infotainment system did not work for me, including remote start. Volvo Canada would not help in any way because “the car was mechanical sound” seriously disappointed but the xc90 is lovely but so was the price
The car is great, I have the R Design B6. It came with 21" rims on Perelli Scopion Zero tires. The tires are horrible. The side walls are woefully under built, as in too thin. NJ roads and potholes have already damaged two tires, sidewall bubbles. Never had these issues in 45 years of car ownership with tires.
I had the same tire problem with my '22 XC60, terrible tires (lots of info on the 'net about them going back years) Volvo kept saying there was nothing wrong with the tires. Honestly, the XC60 was the worst new car we've owned. Got rid of it after 10 months of frustration.
I heard from a Volvo Dealer that the XC60 was a perfect and reliable car BEFORE they switched to Google. Now they have many software problems in the xc60 still after 3 years of google introduction.
so, after 8 hours of charging, you get 20 miles only and if you charge the car while driving it uses more gas per mile, to get 20 miles.. is that proven to actually save money vs. using regular gas operated engine? I just got this car last week and unfortunately, while too late, make sure that you look into this. Is this type of re-charge really a good idea when you are not saving money and still using gas?
Already old with the packaking as there is now Core, Plus and Ultimate (no more R-design etc). Some of the earlier extra are now included in these. Pretty nice deal.
Are true OTA updates working for this new system? I've had the first year current gen XC90 with Sensus Infotainment since 2015. It was pre-sold to me promising OTA updates. They delivered it promising they were "coming soon." Seven years later they still have never shown up. You can do basic map info updates OTA but nothing else, even though the interface is designed as if to expect them. Even more annoying, it will constantly spam you at start up that there is a software update available but there's no way to get it short of going into the dealer. It's one of the more annoying things about the car. So I don't really trust Volvo when it comes to promising things to come.
I have got few weeks ago my xc60. That wireles charger doesnt charge good as suppost to, charging takes forever. Google good shit, doesnt work if I dont share internet from my phone to the car. Dealer promisted car with internet and google service, when I got car they said that factory decided do not instal intenert to the cars of my region. What the stupid excuse, what shall I do if I dont get for that I pay?
I have an Alfa Romeo Giulia right now, wanting something bigger for my next vehicle as I'm a relatively tall guy, and been looking at both the XC40 and XC60. I would have gotten a Stelvio previously before driving the Giulia but, while the Alfa is a fantastic car to drive, its not that comfortable, dunno if the Stelvio would have changed that much. But the Volvos now just look lovely, and I hear a lot of great things about them. So, now its just decide, XC40 or XC60..
In the UK I have the Inscription Pro with heads up air suspension harman Polestar and 22” wheels. Car is great, not keen on using infotainment system using a touch screen while moving as obviously trying to use finger the car jumps about unlike a BMW with a knob to turn. The British roads are worst than bad so 22” wheels can be a harsh ride even with air suspension. That said the trade off with 22” wheels look stunning especially on a white car.
I have the xc90 , its a beautiful car. But now we had our 2nd baby and are finding the 2nd row space cramped. A lot of times we end up moving the passenger seat forward to accommodate the baby seat behind. A Volvo minivan maybe lol?
@@ShiftingLanes yeah , I was thinking of it. I just try to avoid Chevy's as much as I can. Was also considering the Sienna by hybrid but no luck finding any in stock.
I have one since Oct 2021. Love the car but I’ve had several issues with the google maps and google going off-line for no reason. The dealer has absolutely no clue why it happens. They just re-install the software. Two OTA updates haven’t helped. Hoping it will soon be improved. Overall though, It’s a pleasure to drive and a great car.
This is a very detailed review. Thank you for the information. I currently own a new 2022 vehicle in which the infotainment system is "frustrating" to use. It is the main reason I want out of this car. I was looking to buy a 22 XC60 Polestar but am now giving it a second thought. I just want a car in this price range to work as expected. Does not look like this is the one after all.
I bought a 22 xc60 recharge t8 polestar engineered a month ago and it is an amazing car. Don’t let someone else’s opinion/review deter you from checking out the car for yourself. Sure, it’s okay to get information from videos, but don’t just turn your head away because someone else saw some negative points in it. The infotainment is actually very smooth and very easy to use, and that’s coming from someone that’s an apple user. The Google infotainment negates the need for CarPlay anyway, as long as you have a Google account, you still have fully integrated access to all the features you could want.
I like the quality of the interior materials and how everything is put together, which gives this car credibility on the reliability and durability. However, I am bored with the exterior look, the dashboard and the central screen. There’s nothing changed for, I don’t know, like 6 or 7 years? Compared with cars of other brands who have upgraded these features like every 3 years, Volvo cars seem old fashioned.
6 to 7 years is the model years for many cars. With Volvo, a bit longer. Big changes are coming with the EV-only Volvos coming out. First one is an XC90 sized car being introduced in a few months and manufacturing beings early next year. However, the current models won't change and will be the only gas and hybrid powered cars. Volvo is going all EV but will transition there. But they won't update the gas/hybrid cars much from what I understand.
On the XC40 XM came in an update back in late 21, I would think the XC60 should be there now as well. And Android Auto and Carplay are coming in Q2 22.
I’ve had a T8 PHEV XC60 Inscription for about 4 months now. It drives like a dream. The only features that could make it the perfect car would be the new extended range and CarPlay. Otherwise, I’m pretty much ruined for other vehicles
@@dpav02 It was pushed to May following 2.0, but I heard that they are refining/addressing some wired or wireless issues, so it’s now June. I believe that 2.0 was required before CarPlay could be implemented. I have to say that since my TCAM battery was reset in February, and 2.0 was added, I’ve had rock-solid GPS/LTE performance.
Are you happy you went with Volvo over a BMW X3 ?

Maybe my re-charge was a lemon, it was in the service bay too many times for my liking. Glad you're enjoying yours, they are a good looking vehicle.

Get use to the air suspension problems it won't be the last time.
@@edmontgomery6195 XD true, who knows how much it'll cost when it breaks outside warranty.
I've had this car for 18 months, and the infotainment system is still garbage after multiple updates. Very comfortable, though.
It would definitely be a CON for me, because I am
an iphone user and have apple car play in another car.
Got the same problem
Best Volvo XC60 review on TH-cam. And I have really seen a lot of them… Great job, many usefull information!
Much appreciated and glad you got great info out of it!
Test drove one today and going back next week for it. I typically use apple car play for google maps so this integration is nice. I was told by the salesman that there will be an over the air update to add apple carplay in the next 2-3 months so yeah itll have it soon. Today is 4/23/22
they've said this since november
I went today to my local Volvo dealer (5/30/2022) and I had the same question/concern about the Apple Car Play; the salesman told me the same thing; it will be up-graded into the car in 3 months. I ask him to send me an official letter from Volvo stating this! Let’s see……
One from polestars management team has just posted a picture of apple carplay in his own polestar. So I think they are doing beta tests now and it soon will come out.
Good luck, these have absolutely horrendous reliability and Volvo forums and reddit are full of people having brutal issues with these

I’ve got an XC40 EV with this infotainment system and it’s pretty impressive. The voice assistant is by far the best on the market
@@DudeDadEsq can you drive while it updates?

Can't get cruise control to work without pilot assist.
Just bought a S60 B5 last month and I have Apple car play but you must plug into the USB port to work and I have SiriusXM. My first Volvo and I love everything about it.
Volvo has added CarPlay in software version 2.2 (they're currently on v2.9) so that is no longer an issue.
However, has to connect via cable.......no wireless yet
I bought my 2022 B5 in Jun and it has Sirius XM and I took it to the dealership in August and they added CarPlay. I’m truly pleased with my purchase.
Hello from Czech Republic, thanks for the best review I could find! :)
We got our 2022 Volvo XC60 B6 Inscription in January. Love the look and the car. However we have had some bugs with the Google interface.

Do you know if the ‘23 or 2024s are truly apple car play ready, or is there some lag I heard about?
How is ride and comfort compared to Bmw x3?
Did they fix the road noise problem or are they still relatively loud inside? Coming from a 2018 xc60 owner…
What is a model year?
As an owner I would sum up the car like this: Nice exterior styling, pleasant interior, great seating, fairly economical operation, soft handling and infotainment system software that drags down an otherwise very likable package.
Great review and narration!
Software is not ready..
Can it play music via USB c thumb drive?
Have you any problem with xc60 ?
@@Fishercan Yes, I have had a few infotainment glitches with the XC60 model since I purchased the car. They just released a new update and after I installed there were a few new glitches that came up in addition to the ones before.
So are you satisfied overall? You love it ?
Pricewise they don't differ too much
I have this car, but a 2018 XC60 T8 Inscription plug-in hybrid, and I love it!
The XC40 Recharge and C40 got Apple Carplay (wired) in the summer of 2022, so I assume the XC60 has it as well.
Thanks for the review, I have a 2019 S60 T6, My wife the XC40 so its safe to say we love Volvo. We love our cars but the XC60 has gotten my attention, I think its perfect and I have one on my bucket list for down the road. Love your review, very well done.
Does anyone knows if the USB C will read (using with a cable, adaptor or whatever needed) a pen drive ?
This is a BIG thing for me, and it seems does not work… the sales man told me to get an adaptor, did not work; the. Told me to get a pen drive, did not work. Now is telling me to to get a cable… 🙄 if I knew I will have this issue I won’t get this car.
Amazing review this is. Enjoyed it very much.
Also add, no HD radio, no Sirius Travel Link, no Car play (yet), no Android Auto (yet). The steering wheel is no longer made of leather.
Removed driving record in the app, removed the ability to see where the car is located in the app, removed the ability to change between pilot assist and adaptive cruise control on the steering wheel..
I agree, so far the previous system was better.

No. At least not a 2022 be cause no OTA updates. You have to go to the dealership.
I just want a modern 850R wagon. Not that the V60 is bad, but the 850R had substance.
I own a 2017 v40 r design polestar
It's an absolute rocket
As a former Volvo employee you probably know well more than me that having a vehicle that comfortably (and safely) takes you from A to B, is just fine with Volvo's target demographic. There's nothing unfortunate about it. The cars being great looking is an added bonus.
@@gordonmccracken1209 nothing beats the sound of a s60 R!

What about the hybrid plugin?
I dont understand these instructions
How do you think this car compares to the Mercedes GLC 300 and BMW X3?
Mercedes GLC & GLE are better. The BMW has too small leg room in the second row.
So strange that on XC60 2022 no Android Auto neither CarPlay. I have an XC60T8 2019 (EU market) and I have Android Auto working pretty well via USB.

I recently worked in the Volvo service department I've seen a lot of problems the past 2 years
I have a 2021 also and I completely agree with you. I got mine in June and the refresh hit my dealer in July.. Feel like I dodged a bullet!
It lacks pretty much everything. Compared to the Jag/Land Rover, BMW, Merc, Audi displays it offers next to nothing.
Pinch to zoom "it just works!", and then clearly shows how it does not work.

Software issues waiting to happen. I've seen it for these 22 models
Why why touch buttons in car?
Very good detail and unbiased review!
That’s crazy to hear on a volvo. Hmmm
I had the same tire problem with my '22 XC60, terrible tires (lots of info on the 'net about them going back years) Volvo kept saying there was nothing wrong with the tires. Honestly, the XC60 was the worst new car we've owned. Got rid of it after 10 months of frustration.
Hello, Shame to hear that APPLE CARPLAY NOT AVAILABLE IN US.. However it is offered in EU, Finland
Agree. The Re-charge model is good only if you're driving 10mins to the local store and back.
You can now use CarPlay and the built in Android auto at the same time. It works well!
The Xc40 has incredibly comfortable seats. I drove multiple 1200 mile road trips with mine before trading it last year.
Great review about the X60. Very informative.
Some key features that are in sesus, but not in Goole A.
Why did you wrote "not" its seems that you like the car?
In the UK I have the Inscription Pro with heads up air suspension harman Polestar and 22” wheels. Car is great, not keen on using infotainment system using a touch screen while moving as obviously trying to use finger the car jumps about unlike a BMW with a knob to turn. The British roads are worst than bad so 22” wheels can be a harsh ride even with air suspension. That said the trade off with 22” wheels look stunning especially on a white car.
Excellent work
I have the xc90 , its a beautiful car. But now we had our 2nd baby and are finding the 2nd row space cramped. A lot of times we end up moving the passenger seat forward to accommodate the baby seat behind. A Volvo minivan maybe lol?

I have one since Oct 2021. Love the car but I’ve had several issues with the google maps and google going off-line for no reason. The dealer has absolutely no clue why it happens. They just re-install the software. Two OTA updates haven’t helped. Hoping it will soon be improved. Overall though, It’s a pleasure to drive and a great car.

I really dislike the Crystal gear selector. It's so out of keeping with the rest of the style. For me, its a really big mistake.
Considered it but reliability ratings are abysmal. Went with a Genesis GV70 instead. It is better...in my opinion. ;)
This may be sad. But this is my dream car. I will have one day 😍
Sirius XM is included in a Major (total) software upgrade to the vehicle. Maybe your demo unit needs an update.
I’ve been hearing the promised CarPlay date since last year. I’m not gullible enough to believe Volvo any longer.

I’ve had a T8 PHEV XC60 Inscription for about 4 months now. It drives like a dream. The only features that could make it the perfect car would be the new extended range and CarPlay. Otherwise, I’m pretty much ruined for other vehicles
It got CarPlay in a software update. Wired.
Do you now have apple car play?? July 2022?
Nice Video. 😄 Thanks.
Great job buddy! Thanks
Thanks for the review - very detailed. I'm waiting to see if they OTP Apple's CarPlay before I purchase. Dealer said end of March 2022.
Should be coming by end of April...
