IDK about anyone else but I am LOVING these weird, multi-tribe commanders that have been popping up recently. Party mechanic, Raphael with Devil/Demon/Imp/Tiefling, Blex with pest/bat/insect/snake/spiders, and whatever other ones I forgot. It's a weird but fun dynamic that opens up tribal to a lot more options.
Yeah I like it a lot, seems like perhaps the best way to solve the issue of certain low key tribes missing commanders. Though tbh Birds didn't really need another commander, but I guess now they can explore a deck outside of Azorius I guess. Waiting for the return to Theros where we get a Goat/Cat/Snake tribal Chimera commander
DISCLAIMER: Doubling season, Pararell lives and Adrix and Nev won't work bc Tawnos doesn't actually create tokens, he copies the spell and later the copy becomes a token.
TOKEN DOUBLING EFFECTS DO NOT WORK WITH THE COMMANDER AS IT MAKES THE TOKEN ON THE STACK. The only way they would work in this deck is by having populate effects.
Add a Realmwalker to that list, naming either bird or beast and it can help you ramp up quickly. Oh and bonus, you get to copy Realmwalker too, its a Changeling! So you can have one for beast and one for birds 🤯
One shouldn't forget that those creatures becomming artifacts can be an additional advantage and allows an artifact sub theme. there are three beasts with Affinity to artifacts and they will grant you big tokens for as cheap as UU or U. Quicksilver Behemoth being a rather interesting choice by becoming a 4/5 for U at a certain point that bounces itself when it attacks or blocks. Broodstar most likely has P/T equal the number of tokens you created with your commander and can be cast for UU if you already have 8 on the battlefield., Fangren Marauder will give you a hugh amount of life when your tokens get destroyed. Noteworthy is also that there are Mutate creatures that are Birds or Beast who will also be copied. So besides the Artifact subtheme the deck can use 9 Mutate creatures from UG. Weirdly a lot of beasts return creatures to your hand at the beginning of your upkeep you you can easily use those beasts to bounce your cheap beast and birds every upkeep and recast them like Gilded Goose, Birds of Paradis, Silver Raven every turn.
Tawnos the toymaker as commander def should be more beast, but he's great in the 99 of a bant bird tribal that wants to go wide. He definitely making me want to build that deck.
@@stenncassidy8168 Great idea! I already have a mutate deck with her, so it's really useful for me to now add Tawnos for tons of extra copies of beast/bird triggers!
Just going to point out that 10 of the 13 mutate cards in this color identity are either bird or beast spells. Put the copied spell onto the same creature as the first one and you can get three triggers off a singular spell cast.
A few things that he forgot to mention I got wrong. Thanos is a on cash trigger, not an ETB trigger. Meaning doubling season, parallel lives, all the doubling up of tokens does not work because you are casting a card and it's coming in as a token. That being said, it also works with mutate because mutate is an on cast trigger. So you can mutate with a beast or bird, copy that creature and Target the same creature twice.
So instead of mutating once, you are considered to be mutating three times. Mutating once for the First cast, then for the second cast you already have the first mutate so both triggers go off.
Definitely a quirky commander. Can’t exactly splash it with the usual token generators, since copies work differently, but there’s still fun potential for shenanigans. Green Beasts and blue Birds are plentiful, after all.
Dude I really think you should stop front loading your videos so much it takes way too long to get to the subject of the video. I understand you want to get it right away because people tend to click off during the end card, but you’re sacrificing the initial attention for things that your video isn’t even covering.

This comment aged really well after outlaws and bloomburrow :0

I was just about to post this. Hope enough people see it.
Exactly what I was about to comment!
I just posted the same
You know what does work though? Twinning staff.
Yes it does
Don’t forget this works very nicely with Mutate cards too.
Friendship ended with Volo
Now Tawnos is my best friend

Fucking Eddie I guess

Volvo, The dragon one, and now this and Magus - All the doubling going on just different tribals and I love it :)
The Last time I was that early, damage used the stack.
A friend has a mono-green Beast tribal deck so he’ll probably be excited to see this and make it Simic
9:20 Giant is a creature type, and Cultivator Colossus is not one. I feel so misled. Shaking and crying rn
Thanks for nothing, Eddie lol

Its really interesting with the bird side too as you can use things like birds of paradise to mana dork as well and heavy draw/flying synergies
Falco Spara decks should be foaming at the mouth for this guy tbh. He's simple but really effective
Reflections of llitjara, kindred discovery and mystic Reflections work really well in this deck
With all those artifact tokens, Broodstar as a beast looks really tasty!
2XThragtusk, Baby!!!!
I would love to see 2 versions of this deck, one heavy bird, one heavy beast, and see them face each other.
I already have the Beast deck the planned out, who wants to be my Beast buddy?
There’s so many MUTATE birds and beasts that get multiple triggers when you cast them thanks to this commander
Id Use ivy from new Dom too so anytime you mutate it gets copied on ivy too.

Same as in volo, I think twinning staff is an auto include in this deck as well
14:30 Crystal Shard is a strike of genius :D
Looks fun! Thanks for your thoughts Mitch!

no, copying spells is not the same as creating creature tokens.

Errant, Street Artist can do it.
@@MrBreakmind true, but this is in response to the doubling season effects

It doesn’t create tokens so doubling season and the twins will not work
This is a pretty cool commander for those tribes
lmao! Twanos + Maskwood
I feel like there was a card missing in the panharmonicon/Crystal Shard segment; Twinning Staff.
Absolutely broken with Ivy, absolutely broken here.
This is not a cedh card at all and I love it!!! Already my favorite card from the set
Wish he had some red. Aether Charge would be nice. Beast ETB, opponent takes 4.
Maybe make him the secret commander of a Surrak Dragonclaw beast deck
The amount of salt that can be generated with Keeper of the Nine Gales

My Illuna tribal beast. Great card!
Fangren marauder would be crazy in this deck
How dose mutate work with this?
Mutate is a cast, so I'm curious how that would work.
Triggers 3 times on mutate cast, 4 times after word and aditional mutate casts

bro how did I catch this at 16 seconds
Why does the deck list have double everything on it?
Is trait doctoring finally finding a home
Changling staple! Would be in 99 of Any changeling deck tbh
Omg I was just saying we don't have a good beast commander and now we do
Very shocked white isn't in the card lol
It's too good to be in white.
@@antivirusexe2856 only because birds have a lot of white support
None of the token doublers will work. Tawnos doesn't create tokens ge creates duplicates that ARE tokens
Is wizards really trying to have talk about the birds and the beasts with us
And yeah and yeah and yeah ...
WHERE IS MY ATOG TRIBAL SUPPORT
Excuse me Mitch, but it is spelled and pronounced Birb. Please make this a meme deck
Ok this can get kind of silly
Awh heck yeah another mutate commander

Why are they changing the color's of these character's so much!? He's got a card in every color now, talk about ridiculous and irritating.
