  • Making a carriage stop to hold a DTI.
    Milling in the lathe, 4 jaw chuck work, drilling, tapping and making a brass bush.

    The bushing around the barrel of the dial indicator is a great idea to keep the grub screw from binding the dial indicator, and to protect it from scratches.

    Nicely done! Don't know why but your last two videos had the audio lagging by 7 seconds. I'm checking it on my end but it might be a problem.

    Nice job on the tool but it appears that you turned a 25mm indicator into a 6mm or so indicator....unless I am missing something here.

      Hi Makin
      Yes I have reduced indicator travel to about 0.25" (25 turns on my indicator which is a 0.0001" reading) as I normally set the indicator to about 2 turns so I do not have to start counting the divisions on the small dial.
      If you need more you could make the bar from 1" to 3/4" or replace the indicator tip with a longer one.

      I own up but I was 17 and it was my fist go at welding. Still its done the job for years.
