    This was such a pretty drive with all the snow. I love the trees, it does look like a winter wonderland. I don't get out in the snow if at all possible, I can always enjoy your videos from the comfort of my home.

      Glad you enjoyed it. I probably shouldn't get out in it, but I just can't help myself...Lol. I love seeing it, and even driving in it. I felt especially cheated this day, because we were SUPPOSED to get 8 inches at home, and got a mere dusting, which was gone in a few hours. So, I was going to see snow, one way or another.

    I've often wondered what Beech Mountain looked like after a good snowfall, and your video was awesome! I live in southeastern Ohio and I'm sure we don't get as much snow up here. Thanks for the wonderful tour!

      Thank you for watching, and for your kind comments. Yes, Beech Mountain gets dumped on pretty good every winter. Average is 80+ inches per winter up there.

      Thank you for watching, and we are very glad you enjoyed our video. I hope you do get to see snow. This has been a very weird and warm December for us in Western North Carolina, and right now, none of the mountain areas have any snow. There was some back in November, but none this month. Hopefully, that will change soon. Beech Mountain gets a lot of it in a normal winter.

    • @NCMemoryMakers

      Normally that time of year, I'd say you'd see snow, even if it wasn't currently falling. This year has been very strange with the La Nina weather pattern, and it has been milder than normal, and no snow since November. Of course, that could change anytime. I hope you get to see some. Beech mountain gets a lot of it.

    I have grown obsessed with y’all’s videos! I can watch them all day! As I mentioned in another comment, our family is driving up from florida later this month. We have 3 kids who we’d love to take tubing! Which mountain would you suggest for tubing? The last time we went, we tried getting up one mountain, but it was way too steep and there was no shuttle. I can’t remember for the life of me which one it was, but I think it was hawksnest. We ended up at another mountain where we parked and a shuttle took us up to the resort. I’ve been searching through alllll of our pictures to see if I can figure it out, but no luck. 😅

    • @NCMemoryMakers
      @NCMemoryMakers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hawksnest was the one I would have suggested. I think maybe Sugar Mountain and Jonas Ridge also offer it.
      I know there is Tony's Tubing in Maggie Valley, but the hill there isn't very steep. It is easy to get to, however.
      So glad you enjoy our videos.

    Hi! I am glad I was able to find your video as I will be moving to NC soon. I just want to ask regarding the car that I will be getting. I am considering getting Nissan Kicks 2024 FWD since this was the cheapest option I have. Can this Nissan Kicks FWD survive the snow situation in NC? or should I consider getting AWD? I am from the Philippines so I have 0 knowledge 😅

    • @NCMemoryMakers
      @NCMemoryMakers  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not very familiar with the vehicle you're getting, but as far as the snow, that really depends on what part of North Carolina you are moving to.
      If you are moving to the Western mountainous areas, you will have much more snow than you will east of the mountains.
      If you are moving down towards the coastal plain, you will get little to no snow. Maybe once every few years. The mountains are where the snow really falls.

    • @NCMemoryMakers
      @NCMemoryMakers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Asheville only gets moderate snowfall. The surrounding mountains above Asheville, get much more. If you want to venture into those mountains, you would want something with four wheel drive. You should be fine if your car has that.

    Travelers beware My wife & I went to beech mountain 3/⁴ winters ago in a fwd ford focus (no chains) & the beginning of the day was gloomy & decent very cold the wind cut right through you we where at the famous hill at the bottom where snow blowers start where the famous free sledding hill is we had a few runs in on sled grabbed a bite of pizza to eat at wonderful local restaurants there & by the time we was done eating out of no where it started peppering down the snow in less than a hour there was 2-3 inches on the road by time we loaded up to go down mountain before we was stuck there it was a easy 4.5-5 inches & we left took a left instead of a right & slipped into a ditch & im a great snow driver but it still put us in ditch on top of that mountain my driving! When they tell you 4wheel drive or snow chain they mean it for your own safety no matter how experienced or novice snow driver you are or think you are! And at that leaving watagua county entering caldwell county on 321 is very treacherous as well we avoided a 18 wheeler and spun all the way around on a patch of ice/snow thought we where done for but the wife saved it kudo's to her!

    • @NCMemoryMakers
      @NCMemoryMakers  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, one certainly does have to be careful in the mountains. The weather can change in an instant, and a snowstorm can come up just like that.
