Nice one, Brett! I could be wrong, but if I'm thinking of the same groove by JD, I hear a ghost note on the and of 3 (in sync with the second bass drum). In other words, I think all the ghost notes are groups of two.

Hey bro! Most probably, actually. The tricky thing when I find grooves like this is that the drummers don't stick to the same grooves for more than a few bars. So, while I was taking the groove from one bar he played, you may be thinking of the very next one haha
