I played it on my first computer and the framerate was so slow I didn't get to the visitor center until weeks and stuff. It was only after upgrading eventually that I was able to complete the game. You are the perfect person to do a playthrough of this. I’ve never been able to watch more than a few minutes without getting bored, but your expertise on the franchise (and clear bias for this game) makes it interesting.
Despite the flaws in the game, it does show not one, not two, but 7 T.rexes called the 7 Lord's of the island, a term coined by John Hammond, which I thought was pretty cool!!😁😁😁
YES! YES! Im so happy rn! I actually used trespasser as influence for some of my sprites for the nes jp reimagined game. Speaking of nes, cant wait to see you play that game, i wish you good luck with this new series and i hope you have a fun time playing!
I’m really looking forward to watching you play through this whole game. Not only is it nostalgic but I really enjoy hearing your input/commentary on things.
literally every step or sound the character made while you played made me really anxious. the entire time, i couldn’t help but think about how the character was going to die &/or be attacked. though there are almost no dinosaurs when you first start. that’s a little spooky.
Trespasser is my all time favorite Jurassic Park game and one of my favorite games of all time actually. And ive been a pretty hardcore gamer since the 90s. Might sound weird but this is the best way I can explain it. Back when this came out I was probably 13 years old. Huge JP fan, huge gamer, huge JP game fan and huge FPS fan (back when FPS were fewer and appreciated). I didnt know about the game before buying it. Didnt know about the hype or the development issues. I just saw the box at Walmart and immediately begged my dad to buy it for it. Its one of the most vivid retail memories I have. I still remember the 39.92 sticker on the front like it was yesterday. And I STILL have my original copy and box. ITs one of the few things I kept storing away from my childhood game wise. When I got home I remember installing it and the first area they more or less allow you to mess around and get a handle of the controls. I remember at the time being frustrated like most but also probably because I was young I was super patient, had all the time in the world to play the game etc. I remember feeling amazed by how "realistic" the movement was aiming for" I was actually fascinated with just playing around with her ability to manipulate the environment and way I could. I really immersed myself into the world the game set in front of me. Obviously helps to have a big imagination too. The first time you walk past the dinos on the right in the valley where the music starts playing I was in love. Then the first time you walk towards a house and the monologues play... In the moment playing this game when it came out I just loved being immersed and lost in the world that it created. Very lonely, open world feel. I loved the story that was being built up. I just loved it. I honestly dont remember ever caring about the technical issues although I do remember some of the weirder bugs. I remember just loving the polygon dinos, the ambiance. It was like nothing Id seen. Sometimes things like that and the setting, visuals and music can save a piece of media for me (such as a movie or game) Ill be honest I haven't given it a play since back in the day so very possible it wont hold up to my memories but the nostalgia might be heavy enough to sustain it. I just loved playing it.
As buggy as this game was, I genuinely began to feel like I was exploring the island. You really did have freedom to do what you needed to do to get throughthe level, provided you could figure out how to move objects. The first time you run into a T-Rex is terrifying. The climb up the mountain was grueling and the end battle with the Utah Raptor was nerve racking. I don't regret playing this one bit.
Man, for a second I thought I found an old series that I could just binge watch through, but then I saw the date... looks like I’m going to have to stay tuned later lol
I always heard about Trespasser, never played it myself, but thanks to the legendary Research Indicates I and many others got to experience the game in what is widely regarded as one of the best Let's Plays of all time. I love the ambition of this game, and have so much appreciation for it as well. It's not a great game, it's not even a good game, but I kind of love it nonetheless. A remake, or reimagining would be so awesome in my opinion.
I've always intended to own this title. I watched a friend play it many years ago and I was hooked. Being a young kid, I was relying on birthdays and Christmas's for this game to arrive to no avail. It seems the time has come to hunt it down!
I've come back to this playthrough a couple times. I saw the game years ago when TH-cam was new and I was in my early teens. Never could remember the name. Just knew it had a big boobed lady with a heart tattoo and dinos.
Ooohh I've been waiting for this playthrough! This is my personal favorite guilty pleasure game. It's so buggy it's fun! Looking forward to see your reactions throughout the game 👍
It’s tricky to do, but you can actually carry three items at once in this game. I figured it out on my own just messing around. You stow the second weapon and then after you do that you use the input commands for grabbing an item. It’s a bit finicky, but once you get it right you’ll know as you’ll have an empty hand
I should have clarified that it has to be a large weapon like a shotgun or a rifle and a small weapon like a handgun in order for this to work. Sorry that I forgot that detail in my original comment. But knowing that should help out to some degree.
Story time: I’m sure I posted this comment on the last video in the series LAST YEAR but I started watching this, god, 4 years ago in February, and now it’s a yearly thing I do! Thanks for the whole play through man, and thanks for keeping my favorite series alive!
Reminds me of “research indicates” play through, both in voice and commentary, except research got into the more technical side of things and had his game with the atx mod that added higher level difficulties.
Trespasser’s plot has good novel potential. To be honest, I think adapting the game into a novel is the thing that’ll fix Trespasser. It could be told in first person by Anne and she can describe trying to survive on the island. While I never played this game, I’ve always been fascinated by it. The idea of one person trying to survive on a dinosaur infested island is quite interesting to me. The good thing about this idea is no need for programming and trying to fix a glitchy unfinished game. So yeah, I say turn Trespasser into a book.
18:30 By my understanding, the "Velociraptors" portrayed in the JP series are really more of Utahraptors or Deinonychus. Velociraptors are quite small, standing only 2-3 feet tall. Hammond's comment about Velociraptors in Mongolia is correct. Assuming that the JP Raptors are a different breed of Raptors, then the only discrepancy is that JP incorrectly identified the species as velociraptors in the first place.
They are Deinonychus. The book's plot directly deals with the fact that the park thinks they've bred Velociraptor Mongoliensis because of where their amber came from, but Grant explains that he has just recently dug up a juvenile Velociraptor Antirrhopus, also known as Deinonychus, and that the size and shape of the parks creatures seem to indicate it's actually Deinonychus the've managed to clone.
I've been really into your Jurassic Park videos lately, and when I saw you did a playthrough of this game, I JUMPED at the opportunity. I don't know how we ended up with this CD back in the day, but it just BARELY played on my dad's computer, and I didn't have nearly the video game prowess necessary to work with the crazy arm controls. Really excited to see the game in its entirety, plus the added commentary you provide with your knowledge of JP. Great stuff.
I’m so glad you’re doing this! I’ve never had the opportunity to play it myself so it’s great to see a walkthrough made by such an avid fan who appreciates the deep lore of the franchise. I’m looking forward to following along the whole way! So let’s get this moveable feast underway

Nope. Turok: Dinosaur released in March 1997, two months before The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Turok: Dinosaur Hunter itself, was inspired by the Turok comics that date back to 1954.
look back at this on the beach that had the back end of Anne's plane Anne wasn't alone because she had a pilot named Marquez and she doesn't even know if the man is dead or still alive on the island since he's nowhere to be seen.
I played the demo for this game in 2004 and loved it but could never find a copy of the full game. I look forward to seeing all of these I'm glad you are posting them
I played this one when I was a young kid and have fond memories of it. Even if it was very frustrating at some points, it was quite an ambitious project for it's time. The jungle atmosphere, those quiet moments that were followed by the desperation whenever a raptor came out of nowhere, the lack of ammo and aiming issues... Man, it was terrifying. I'll be following your playthrough and let the nostalgia kick in.
You can make it so that you hold it gangsta style, and if you put the gun away on your person, you will retrieve it with the same articulation settings you had when you stowed it. Very cool, I wish more modern games had that. Too many times guns are basically 3d decals that don't interact with the environment.
Oh i so love this game. I've played it so many times, i can't even count. All this at the time was amazing to experience, even now i get the chills,- Oh the nostalgia 😍🍺

Research Indicates has done an amazing walkthrough and inspired me to want to make my own walkthrough with even more detailed information (of which I have google doc that is 67 pages long now.) And I've been working on a script for a movie/mini series based on Trespasser (I prob need to get to work on it before someone else makes it.) Thanks for all the great videos!
@@TheDealer6373 Yeah it had only a handful of simple cheats (including one that you typed "win" and would play the ending sound clip.) The more I looked into the history behind the making of the game, the more I wanted to learn about all the ridiculous ambitions they had for the game. Most computers of the time struggled to even play the game so just think what it was like making it (and interviews can confirm the difficulties they had).
Really loved the little history lesson at the start. This will be a fun playthrough and some great commentary so far. Can't wait for all the lore tidbits
I think it would be Awesome if they brought back Trepasser as mini series and have Richard Attenborough’s John Hammond Memoirs in it to keep the main character sane on her or his journey plus I think it would be neat to get some more dinosaurs action in it in a great time for Jp/Jw
Guacamole! Still an interesting article to date but wish to see this come to the big screen. Though the Lost World Jurassic Park came to light that present such wonderful dino design, plot, and so on :) Great video man :)
I was a pretty hardcore gamer by the time this came out. I was 16 I think and had Doom, Turok, Quake 1 and 2, Unreal, Duke Nukem, Goldeneye etc under my belt. It was undeniable how imprecise and unintuitive the controls were, but I still absolutely loved it. The large criticism came from people who had no idea what they were looking at. Even my 16 years old brain could still understand I was witnessing something special. Not necessarily a good game, but a technical show piece that was extremely important for the industry. I remember telling a friend about this game and the term I found to explain the game was "virtual reality"... lol. That came from all the interactions you had with the physics and how you could control your arm to pick up objects and examine them. Even harder was trying to explain the ragdoll physics.. nobody knew how to call it. I was trying by telling him there were no animations on the Dinosaurs.. they were built with a skeleton and joints like a real animal and programed how to walk, so they physically move their legs in order to walk rather than sliding from point A to point B while a cycle animation plays like every game of the era. I even used chaos theory to explain the physics when a dinosaurs dies and roll down a cliff. My 16 years old mind didn't care if the game itself wasn't great.. there was so much to be appreciated there. You don't understand. We didn't even know what real time physics were... Throwing stuff like that and knocking things off.... It would take several years till Half-Life 2 would explore what this game was already on. Edit: Collision.. I forgot about collision. Dinosaurs could bump into each other.. lose their balance, fall over and get back up without any key framed animation.. just by physics alone. What idiot would hate a game that done this in 1998? You may not enjoy the game, but you can't hate such technological ambition... Also.. how you can tap a raptor in the head with your little hand and make a little slap sound as your hand collides with it.. I'm getting hype. I need to play this again. Bye.
OMFG!! THE NOSTALGIA!!! I actually still own my copy of this game. I LOVED playing it as a kid. Don't believe I ever beat it, but did get a little far. I can't wait to see you face your first T-Rex. Also, I am guessing the coding mixed with modern PCs causes the Brachys to move faster cause I am pretty sure they were actually super slow in the original.
Another awesome video Klayton! I’ve heard of this game before but this is the first time I have seen gameplay. I really like that you have included some interesting background information about the making of the game as well as the play through. In my opinion there are too few FPS/survival Jurassic Park games. I’d love to see a game like this for current PC hardware, it would look incredible.
just to mark my place as i was here, even way before this very own comment. i first watched this entire playlist in 2020, and, 2 years later almost 3 years am going back to rewatch it.
Imagine a prequel movie to jurassic world with a trespasser movie I would find that amazing Obviously not a 1:1 remake of the game but get some if the script writers for the game to come in and maybe help
This was one of my favorite computer games growing up. I didn't care about the graphics, but I fell in love with the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park as well as the story to this game. Granted I was only 6 or 7 so I wasn't very good with games then but I cherished this game to this very day. I always got scared when having to come face to face with the first velociraptor and would get stuck on that level.

@@h.plovecat4307 Someone is actually, I don't know how the process is going though, last I checked on it was late last year.
@@FTIBug hey do you have the name I'd be interested in seeing this
Ya growing up this was one of my favorite pc games and even today I still have my original copy and time to time play it on my windows xp gaming pc. It has it's flaws and problems but considering what it is it isn't half bad.
A fan is making a remake for it :D
You are the perfect person to do a playthrough of this. I’ve never been able to watch more than a few minutes without getting bored, but your expertise on the franchise (and clear bias for this game) makes it interesting.
Despite the flaws in the game, it does show not one, not two, but 7 T.rexes called the 7 Lord's of the island, a term coined by John Hammond, which I thought was pretty cool!!😁😁😁
I do like how they have an exact number on them.
I personally think Trespasser was a great game and had a good story.
I listened to all of John Hammond's diaries once while cleaning my home. Best afternoon ever.
YES!
Despite its age it looks quite good!
So does your mom, bitch
I remember purchasing this game based on the pre-rendered video trailer. It ran at about 1 frame per second.
Look at your health bar more. XD
Lmao
ffs lmao
I don't know what that means, should i care?
@@saiess ffs lmao - For fuck sake, laugh my ass off.
literally every step or sound the character made while you played made me really anxious. the entire time, i
couldn’t help but think about how the character was going to die &/or be attacked. though there are almost no dinosaurs when you first start. that’s a little spooky.
Sometimes things like that and the setting, visuals and music can save a piece of media for me (such as a movie or game)
Ill be honest I haven't given it a play since back in the day so very possible it wont hold up to my memories but the nostalgia might be heavy enough to sustain it. I just loved playing it.
Very nice touch using those *memorable* tracks ("Town of Burroughs" and following it up with "Enter the Town") from the game to start the video. 😌
Awesome to have experienced this with you, kept me on the edge of my seat. Always used to watch my father play this.
Thank you
I've been playing too much RDR2. When you killed the raptor I wanted you to loot the corpse.
Heh, unfortunately I don’t think the raptor was carrying much coins or health potions on him anyway. :)
I’ll probably be hated for this but what is RDR2?
this is gonna be fun i remember watching the gaming beaver play this game. This game is worth playing just to hear Sir Richard Attenborough R.I.P
I've come back to this playthrough a couple times. I saw the game years ago when TH-cam was new and I was in my early teens. Never could remember the name. Just knew it had a big boobed lady with a heart tattoo and dinos.
Klayton: It's a miracle we got away from that velociraptor.
Velociraptor: say something about me?
Klayton:AHHHHHHHH!
Thank you for fulfilling my need for random JP lore.
Klayton: somehow plays Trespasser
Me and every one watching: you crazy son of a bitch you did it!
Story time: I’m sure I posted this comment on the last video in the series LAST YEAR but I started watching this, god, 4 years ago in February, and now it’s a yearly thing I do! Thanks for the whole play through man, and thanks for keeping my favorite series alive!
Reminds me of “research indicates” play through, both in voice and commentary, except research got into the more technical side of things and had his game with the atx mod that added higher level difficulties.
grabs gun, throws it over fence so he can get it later. *LEAVES GUN THERE*
Trespasser’s plot has good novel potential.
I highly recommend watching Research Indicates playthrough. It's full of details and well made.
Can you make a bad video? They're all perfect damnit! You always do right
I've been really into your Jurassic Park videos lately, and when I saw you did a playthrough of this game, I JUMPED at the opportunity.
10:31 I like how she threw the gun at the same time she pulled her arm back
The scene with the braceo's made me laughing so hard but despite that it's still very impressive for the time.
I look at Trespasser as just taking place in another part of the island, like JP3.
Likewise, and that the Worker Village in TLW and the town of Burroughs in this game were just two of multiple worker settlements that Ingen had.
The seven rulers of the island
8 if you count the Spinosaurus
There is something really relaxing about such old 3D games. I appreciate you playing this!
I’m so glad you’re doing this! I’ve never had the opportunity to play it myself so it’s great to see a walkthrough made by such an avid fan who appreciates the deep lore of the franchise. I’m looking forward to following along the whole way! So let’s get this moveable feast underway
5:31 that chanting reminds me of the opening of the first Jurassic Park
This was really fun to watch
Amazing! Never heard of this game before but I will watch your whole journey through it. :)
I cannot wait for the rest of this series. Definitely going to be a highlight of the next few weeks on TH-cam.
I must say, I love the new intro amd watching these videos and hearing the totally applicable Jurassic Park quotes that youre slinging is an absolute treat. Most fun Ive had watching a playthrough since your Telltale JP series. Id love to have a beer with you some time.
Wow, I only recently found your channel and am loving the content, but I've been around Trespasser websites since '99 or so. Despite its many shortcomings, it has always remained one of my all-time favorite games. Thank you so much for giving it this attention, looking forward to seeing you play and I hope you'll enjoy it! :D
Love that you came to this game and are giving it the attention it deserves. Would be really neat if they did an update of this game for us older fans. Can't wait to see more!
It’s cool to see all the stuff that came out of Jurassic Park before the Jurassic World Series happened! Thanks for showing us this!
This was great. I couldnt ztop thinking the whole time, "I hope he keeps making more of these".
Very, very entertaining to watch
Still an amazing game being played an amazing channel.
I'm under the impression that the game Turok was inspired by Trespasser
Nope. Turok: Dinosaur released in March 1997, two months before The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter itself, was inspired by the Turok comics that date back to 1954.
@@1Morey I meant the ps3 game but that's cool 😎
@@kalebharris80s I love that game, I have it for the Xbox 360. Hopefully it makes it on the BC list.
look back at this on the beach that had the back end of Anne's plane Anne wasn't alone because she had a pilot named Marquez and she doesn't even know if the man is dead or still alive on the island since he's nowhere to be seen.
3:12 O how has that little chubby boy's life changed.
I like how you can articulate the gun barrel in different directions looks pretty real for the time
You can make it so that you hold it gangsta style, and if you put the gun away on your person, you will retrieve it with the same articulation settings you had when you stowed it.
Wow! Man you never played this before, I just cant believe it! Happy you made a video on this!
Oh my gosh that's the game I've played in my childhood! Ever since, I've looked everywhere but couldn't manage to find the title anymore! It's so cool that you'll be playing it through!! Enjoy! I'll be looking forward to more videos! :D
Another great video man! I have been watching your work for a long time now, but never really commented. Just wanted to say thank you for your hard work and outstanding content. Keep up the good work! I will be joining the patreon thing and start supporting your work.
I never knew this game existed so this was awesome to see. Unreal how good the graphics were for how old it is! Egerly waiting to see the next part!
Cheers eh!
Klayton Fioriti you have the best Jurassic Park videos I really like hearing all the back stories of the dinosaurs and characters keep up the good work 👍
I really, really, really love that! I am a big Jurassic Park fan too and a fan of retro gaming so it's really cool! Thank you
Oh man, i held this game in my hands about 19 years ago here in finland in some flee market. It was the whole box set and now it is really pricey. At least complete boxes with manuals and cd's. I wondered that "what the heck is this game? Never heard before." And i did not buy it. Should have bought it.
Yes! I was hoping you’d talk about this game eventually. You are the MAN!
One of my all time favorite games. Being there when it was released and being a huge Jurassic Park fan at the same time. This game was pure magic to me.
I am very glad that this game is being given the respect and admiration for what it was back in 1998.
@@Dirty_Dumb_NAFO_Scum Totally! When I got this game in 98 it was pure mind blowing how real it all felt. Still one of the best video game experiences I ever had.
So glad you are playing this! I still have my disk and had a sticky note on it to turn on cheats because the dinos where so aggressive.
Research Indicates has done an amazing walkthrough and inspired me to want to make my own walkthrough with even more detailed information (of which I have google doc that is 67 pages long now.) And I've been working on a script for a movie/mini series based on Trespasser (I prob need to get to work on it before someone else makes it.)
Thanks for all the great videos!
It had cheats? That is pretty interesting how far the game tech wise compared to the standards at the time.
Now I can't stop seeing Jane from Tarzan in Jurassic Park now lol
Far Cry Primal has some of the appeal of this game, which is why I was really hoping Ubisoft would do a dinosaur far cry after, sigh.
I think it would be Awesome if they brought back Trepasser as mini series and have Richard Attenborough’s John Hammond Memoirs in it to keep the main character sane on her or his journey plus I think it would be neat to get some more dinosaurs action in it in a great time for Jp/Jw
Been waiting for this ever since I started watching this channel!
Guacamole! Still an interesting article to date but wish to see this come to the big screen. Though the Lost World Jurassic Park came to light that present such wonderful dino design, plot, and so on :)
Great video man :)
I had this game and loved it when I was 10!!!! I’m 26 now crazy seeing this dude!
YES!!! Another video game playthrough
I saw a walkthrough couple years ago here on youtube i was soo hooked on watching it till the end such an awesome game!!
Prepare for the derpasaurs folks the newest of ingens deadly hybrids
Another awesome video Klayton! I’ve heard of this game before but this is the first time I have seen gameplay. I really like that you have included some interesting background information about the making of the game as well as the play through. In my opinion there are too few FPS/survival Jurassic Park games. I’d love to see a game like this for current PC hardware, it would look incredible.
I see you finally made it to Site B! It's where they did the real work heh. Anxious to see your experience of the rest.
This is fantastic. I’d be happy to watch a full play through
just to mark my place as i was here, even way before this very own comment.
i first watched this entire playlist in 2020, and, 2 years later almost 3 years am going back to rewatch it.
It's been about 5 years since you played the game. I think it's time for a second run.
Wow, i was a kid too when this was released.
I am glad that you were now able to play it and i can now discover the story of the game.
Imagine a prequel movie to jurassic world with a trespasser movie
I would find that amazing
Obviously not a 1:1 remake of the game but get some if the script writers for the game to come in and maybe help
And the green flame arc was no where to be found.
