Fujifilm deserves a lot of credit for helping to keep instant film alive with the success of their Instax line.

With fuji releasing new instax square and mini cameras I hope they finally release a new instax wide camera but, I wouldn't hold my breath. It's a shame wide is the black sheep of the instax family it's a great format.
If it helps, I commented on their Instagram post when they released this camera & told them we want a new wide one and they said “it’s a very popular ask, we’ll make note” sooo fingers crossed 🤞🏽

It's definitely got the "ooh!" Factor, nice looking wee camera, sure I could find a space in my collection for it. The contact sheet film is pretty striking looking, a great idea all in 👍🏻

just recently got the mini 40 as a secondary shooter to my impossible I-1 and I love it, it's really nice to have something simple and small to fill in the gaps, since the I-1 is kinda bulky and requires a lot more thought
I bought the mini 40 about a month ago now and as my first instant Camera I love it.. I have so far taken about 60 pictures with it so its costing me about $2 a day :)

I wish Polaroid would release more special film frames for the 600 series like Fujifilm & having 10 shots in a pack would be a dream come true rather than paying $20 for 8 shots😪
I’m a bit disappointed that the Instax Mini 40 is just another simplified point-and-shoot like the Mini 11. I guess Fuji’s strategy is to get as many people using Instax cameras by making them as simple to use as possible. Still, it’s cute as hell. And it’s so small! I didn’t think Instax could get more ergonomic than the Instax Mini 70. Until you said it had very few functions like the SQ1, I was *really* tempted to buy one.
As for the new film actually numbering each exposure: 🤯
Too bad it’s $15 for a 10-pack but my hope is that the price will eventually come down like the other Instax Mini film. May still buy a pack to try it out though.

Mini 90 VS Polaroid Now+ ? Not a big fan of the app, but more control the better.
I’d say that’s more of a decision between whether you like Instax Mini film more than Polaroid - there’s a tremendous difference in size.
Ok, here's what i think about this camera while my mushroom soup is cooking on the stove. I'm not gonna lie, my first thought when I saw this camera was, why does it look like Lomo'instant Automat? Although Mini 40 looks soooo so much bulkier. Then, why would anyone buy Mini 40, when you can add 50 quid and get Mini LiPlay that has AF already + so many more fun functions? I don't quite understand why ppl are so against hybrid cameras, I think they are brilliant. Let's say, my niece's bday is this month and for obvious reasons I will not be able to see her in person. So I took a picture of bouquet of flowers and recorded a short story for her (actually re-recorder it 3 times). She will scan QR code when she gets it and will have the picture and message forever. Also, I can reprint the same picture as many times as I want and share it with many ppl. I'm actually gonna print a bunch of pictures, record sweet messages on them and send them to my Mom for Mother's day, which is in May in my country. Why limit your possibilities? P. S. I do have mini 90 and sq6 too, for days when i'm feeling more artistic and more adventurous :) Need to stir that soup now :D
Haha that soup is getting HOT!! This is a great comment and I appreciate all your points. I think the dislike for cameras like the LiPlay and SQ20 stems from the fact that they are digital cameras. The instant photo community is a bunch of analog lovers who see the camera-film duet as a momentary magical connection. The digital element makes the film aspect of the camera into just a printer. That being said, I personally have nothing against how anyone wants to enjoy art and make things and be creative! And anyone who really does probably has bigger problems 😂 - hold up, I gotta stir my soup now!!
@@InAnInstant I wish they re-released wide 500af or released an updated camera for this format. Why so many minis?? On the other hand, I guess they are saving my money for me :D Soup is ready👍🏻
One of the aforementioned analog lovers here. I just don't consider shooting digital the same experience -- if you snap a pic with a Mini 90 or an Automat, it's a super tactile action, the result is always a physical picture, even if you wanna modify it you play with the actual light going into the lens (hella ironic given Fuji's naming). This is just very different from a digital picture, some modification, and then choosing to print it. It also takes the scarcity of film out of the equation when you're composing and reintroduces it at a worse part in the process when you're reviewing your photos, _still_ digitally.
And if you're in for the results, not the experience, why are you shooting instant? It's quite literally the worst format for that, even the best instant cameras are flat out outclassed by a generic 35mm SLR, let alone actually good digital gear.
Ultimately, everything the LiPlay can do a smartphone can do better, except for one thing, printing -- for which you can just get a printer, like a Mini Link, an SP-2, or the objectively superior SP-3 (on the basis that it uses Instax Square, which, unlike Instax Mini, doesn't suck). You can even go better than that, Fuji's X100 line of cameras (currently on the X100V if I'm not mistaken) can natively connect to one of those printers, so you can have like an actually great camera and then print it on Instax, although that's not exactly cheap at that point.
IMO, there are no hybrid cameras, only pocket printers that have built-in cameras for some reason. That said, if you put a gun to my head and told me to choose a "digital instant" camera of _any_ kind, I'd go for the LiPlay, but it just doesn't have any of the pieces that make instant photography so fun. Plus, digital gear being so much more complicated than an analog camera which is essentially just a lens, a shutter, and some rollers in a box, hitting the same price points is pretty much impossible if you still want to include quality gear, and no one is going to make an expensive instant camera because that means fewer users, and therefore less film sold.
@@ingrida3575 Also, completely agreed on the wide. I'm not holding my breath, Fuji seems to be completely allergic to that thing, if they made an actual new camera on that format it would be amazing, but at this point I just hope they don't pull a Fuji and discontinue it completely.

• I clean my Flash light sensor because I see A finger prints, Is it okay to clean it with cotton?
- will the little scratches of the lens of then sensors, specially the flash light sensor, affect the quality of the Photo?
• I also clean the inside of my Camera, in the Rubber part I brush it with clean and soft make up brush, and wipe it with wipes. Is it okay?
I'd use a microfiber cloth! Otherwise sounds good!

Yes, Instax will be fine sitting inside the camera.

Normally in your other camera reviews it goes as long as 7-9 minutes of reviewing. With this camera it only goes under 5 minutes which is hilarious.

I think it will still draw a lot of interest because of its special design - I do wish it was $10/pack max but I guess we often pay out the buns for special editions.
