Hey I bought the Chanel longwear le rouge duo (liquid lipstick and gloss) on your recommendation and I ate an entire Thai curry, salad, and bbq chicken without any movement on the lipstick. It’s very beautiful and it is standing up to my meals and thank you for the recommendation.
I have been using that same Castile soap for years. I’m so happy to hear that it is Sonia G approved! I find it’s also fantastic for cleaning a beauty blender. If you put a squirt of that into some warm water and let your sponges soak for about an hour, it’s unbelievable what comes out of them. 💕
Good Morning Michelle. I'm so glad that you did this video! I just ordered my first set of natural hair brushes (Rephr) and want to take care of them properly so they will last for awhile. I'm sure this will be good to know going forward! I'm loving your videos BTW!!
I love your tip for using brush guards when traveling! That is genius. Years ago I bought the Suqqu cheek brush after watching Lisa Elridge videos. Unfortunately, at the time, I knew nothing about caring for a brush this delicate. I ended up breaking off several hairs in the process of cleaning it. That was a hard lesson to learn. Your video will help so many :)
Hi Michele, half a week ago i ordered your famous Esum brushes, and this evening i ordered the Rephr brushes you mentioned 1 day ago. Look forward to them!😍 I first asked the company Rephr this afternoon: what is arranged, or not arranged with customs when shipping to The Netherlands. I received a reply about an hour ago from them, that for EU they actually ship from Austria and pay the VAT on behalf of the European customer. Maybe nice info for other Europeans here. About the soap Michele, i have the Clean Apothecary from Beautilish, and like that for the real hair brushes i already have, but the other one i also like to try, and is available here in my country! For synthetic brushes, i use just normal soap, and for foundation brushes my Rinse off Foaming Cleanser (Clinique), i love how quick that works! But love to learn, learn, and learn here from you, and other people, thanks, and have a nice day!🖐🎉😘
Thank you for this video. I have bought so many brushes based on your recommendations. That’s including your collab. Just got it. Your brushes always seem brand new.
Hi Michele! Thanks for the tip on cleaning brushes. Especially the natural hair ones. I think I've been cleaning them too often and using a little too much soap. The Dr. Bonner's is excellent and really does keep them feeling softer than what I was using before. Thanks again. 🙂💕
Hi Michele, just wanted to thank you for doing this video. I do not own that many luxury brushes, but I have few and because of the investment, just wanted to make sure that I was on the right track. It's so funny, I've always used Dr. Bronner because it does a very good job of cleaning and was delighted to see you do too. But I did learn a few for tips from this video. Good job Michele.
Hi Michelle, can I give you a cleansing tip? When you use a brush spray on your brushes a better way to use a brush cleansing spray to is spray your paper towel or microfiber towel with the cleansing spray (do not spray directly on the brush) it can ruin your brush/ferrules and the alcohol can losen the glue on the brush over time. Instead spray the towel, lightly rub the brush where you put the cleanser on the towel and your brush will be just as clean. This method doesn't effect the ferrules. No spray gets on them this way and minimul spray is used to clean the brushes. Hope this helps. 😁 💜
thanks Michele, I appreciate all the time and effort you put on your videos. Will you be reviewing the brushes that you got from Japan? I’d LOVE to see it💕
Amazing deal!! I just ordered the complete set along with the new #3 brush for testing. I have the complete Wayne Goss collection and I'm anxious to see how these compare.
I use micellar water to do my daily cleaning. I just spray it on the microfiber cloth, and rub the brush over. I do also use the Sephora spray as well when I feel a deeper cleaning is required. But because it's quite oily, I go over with the micellar water to get rid of the oil. So far it's working well with my synthetic and natural hair brushes.
Thank you so much Michelle. I’m getting ready to purchase my first set of Sonya G brushes (eye set) were this came right on time. I have learn so very valuable information on how to take care of my brushes by now changing the soap solution that I currently use and try something new. The caddy and sink mat cleaner will now become an addition to the care of my brushes so thank you for what you do.
Wow Michele, your hair!!! What have you done with it, it looks absolutely gorgeous, it is exactly my dream hair look!! Happy to see your channel growing and prospering. Happy lunar new year from Korea🥰😍
I love your hair, your grey streaks are beautiful! I also needed these tips, because washing my makeup brushes are one of my least chores to do. Thanks so much for sharing!
It was relaxing watching you wash your brushes 😊. I let them dry upside down with the ward, when they're dry I take it away. Since I got my rephr brushes I've used nothing but them and my wayne and Sonia's. I'm definetly checking yours with esum, that's a good combo indeed and I couldn't get them the first time. Hugs and thank you for taking the time to record your process for us ❤🥰
A tip that I got from MAC for white goat hair brushes that are stained is to dip it in a cleansing oil first and then wash it off with water and a brush cleanser
Good morning my friend 😘. As I watch this video, I am ordering the brush soap on amazon lol. I was using the Sigma foam wash, and i didn’t like it at all. They never got white and clean feeling. I adore the Sigma mat so much. Your brushes, Sonia G and Repher are my go to loves. Great video. Love ya 💕💕
You are the brush queen! If I ever want to know about brushes, your channel is my first (and likely only) stop. Do you like the Rephr brushes as much as the Sonia G brushes?
I’ve been using goat milk soap when I wash mine... it’s pretty gentle.. but I think I’ll get that spray for in between washes. I like that brush tower! I set mine sideways to dry near the sink, sometimes, too.
Thanks for this video, I use the Sigma cleaning pad as well, although not for my more delicate brushes. I also have the Sigma drying tree, which I really like. The upside down thing is so useful, b/c I always end up knocking my brushes off the sink if I leave them horizontal. I'll have to try the Dr. Bronners Castile soap as well as the daily brush cleaner. Right now I just use a microfiber cloth as well as washing in the sink.
Oooo, two new products and I'm excited! The Daily Cleaner and the Dr. Bronner's Unscented Baby Soap are brand new to me 🙈🙈 I've been using Granny's Soap Flakes. They are a UK brand and it's actual flakes of pure, unscented soap, which are dissolved in warm water. Unfortunately, it takes ages, 😉😉 Great vid, I really appreciate this. 💗💜💗
Beautylish recommended the beautysoclean daily brush cleaner for daily/spot cleaning, when I emailed them after my first natural hair brush purchases a few years ago. It’s fantastic and is gentle enough to use frequently between deep cleaning not to mention I can get it auto-shipped via amazon prime ... I’m going to purchase the Castle soap, I’ve seen several other people use/mention it also! One of the best tips Ive ever picked up is using organic/natural aloe to help condition/shape after washing. I think either Stephanie Nichole or Tarababy turned me on to this...
Yes. I’m so glad you did this. I love that you did this and show how to care for them. So important ! I love the rephr I only have 3 or 4 Now time to get the Esom
This was really helpful! I already do this but it's always good to get confirmation. I just ordered your eye brush set, I can't wait for them to get here. I'm so happy they are nickel-free, the silver handle rephr brushes are not and i'm allergic so I had a terrible reaction. I think it's great that Muse tells you what the ferrules are made of up front.
Hi Michelle, maybe I’m wrong, but I remember Watch this same video before in your chanel long time ago. Thank for remind you people who don’t know how wash brushes. 😉
Yay so happy that your brushes are back! I even included them in my favorites ! Thank you for this cleaning video good to know I’m doing it correctly, and I love my Rephr brushes - need to get that number 22 as well.
Thanks so much Michelle! I just got my first high end brushes.... and I was in way over my head with how to care for them but I think I have this under control now haha! Before my highest end brush was Sephora brand. Now I've got the Sonia G complete face and eye sets as well as about to order a Surratt concealer and Chikuhodo brow brush to complete my collection to suit my personal needs. I was always so focused on the expensive makeup and ignoring the brushes.... whole new world now!!!! Can you just confirm my gut feeling here?.... those color switch sponge things that you wipe the brush on is a big no no.... would damage the natural brushes?
Great video! I have been using African black soap but I like your method better. It is easier LOL and I'm lazy. I'm waiting for a snowy day to clean my brushes but so far no snow since the holidays.
Hi, I tried to buy your set, but I live in Europe and the shipping plus the customs fees made the purchase unbearable ... so four week ago I bought the f Reph core set. This video will be my guide for cleaning my new natural brushes. Thank you so much.
I have Dr. Bronners baby unscented pure castile soap!! I did use it once on my Chanel brushes but I thought it "hardened" the bristles? Maybe I didn't rinse well enough? Will try on your ESUM set.
Rephr also has a promo going right now, buy one get one free and also they have a concept promo, where you buy a concept brush, agree to give feedback and get a coupon for up to $35.00 off your next brush purchase. They also have THE BEST customer service ever!! The owner, Tom, was fantastic and could not have been more helpful and they do not give you a generic response when you email them. You actually interact with a real person. I did get my concept brush and it is awesome. I have to wait until the others get here, to Canada, from Japan, but I am excited for this Canadian brand going forward.
The Sephora daily brush cleaner is the only brush cleaner I would recommend for fude. It's the only one I've found that is alcohol free and moisturizing. It also helps to disinfect your brushes because it contains lots of citrus oils. Though I haven't checked out the other two you mentioned, so I will.
Another option for drying is a brush tree, which can be quite inexpensive. I have one from Beautylish by the brand Benjabelle that was around $12, and it serves me well
I love my Benjabel! I missed out on the black one in the model I’d wanted (waited too long to finally place my order), so I jumped on getting it white, along with the swivel base while it was still available. I knew I’d kick myself if I didn’t!
Literally cleaning my brushes with Dr. Bronners and my Sigma Mat while watching Michele talk about cleaning her brushes with Dr. Bronners and her Sigma Mat! Great minds think alike! 😂
Hi Michele! I know this is an older video but I just wanted to ask if you are still using the Dr Bronners baby castile soap or if you've changed since this video. Thank you!
Literally stopped the video to buy the Rephr brushes. Wanted to try them for months now after I saw some youtubers using them, but the price put me off so far as I couldnt touch them and feel them. But now they are around 16bucks a brush plus free delivery to London!!! Yay!!
I know this is an older video but I was looking at how to properly Clean the rephr brushes before purchasing because these would be my first natural hair ones ... is the IT cosmetics brush love cleaner ok in your opinion?! Also I have all the sigma stuff ... pad , and drying rack but can you use any baby soap or shampoo ?! I have the foam Sigma cleaner too ?!
Thanks for the video. I use that Sephora brush cleaner for eye shadow brushes when I want to change colors. It works well for quick cleaning when I have no time. I have the Beauty Blender bar soap for brush cleaning. What do you think of it? 💚
Deborah Carlston I use the black Blender Pro (Beauty Blender) solid cleaner to clean my brushes, and I think it works great. It rinses out easily, doesn’t leave behind any funky or heavily perfumey smell, and my brushes come out clean and soft.
Dr. Bronner's is the way to go! (Also, Clean Apothecary solid, BeautySoClean are excellent cleansers.) I have used Dr. Bronner's from when I worked for MAC in 1987 and do you know I have nearly ALL my brushes from then? (Both personal and work brushes from then. Only a few squirrel brushes finally bit the dust.) I alternate between the Baby and the Rose. It's great as a delicate wash for sweaters and lingerie, too! 🖌👚👙
Don’t forget to clean the handles too. I think the brush guards are used while your brushes are drying. Once dried they come off so they don’t misshape your brushes. I agree the guards are great when you travel. 😀
Great video. I noticed I get sort of a ring of color right up near the ferrule due to me trying not to get that part too wet. Am I being overly cautious wish the soap/water?
Thank you Michele!!! I’m taking care of my brushes just the same way as you (I even have the same dry ‘n shape Sigma tower 😂) so now I feel reassured and very proud of myself 😂😂😂 Great video!!! 😘😘😘
I do literally the same exact thing. For my once a month cleaning I've been using the Clean Apothecary brush shampoo. It's a solid and it leaves the bristles so soft and silky!!! I'll try the Dr. Broenner when that's used up, but if you ever can't get your hands on it try the Clean Apothecary!! Its on Beautylish FYI!😘😍😊😊
I have been eyeing the tower but haven’t committed to purchasing it yet. What I do is use my hair rubber bands, go to the towel bar in my bathroom, loop the band around the bar, and then stick the brush in the band so that the bristles are upside down. It works but the tower just seems handy. Is it hard to store though the tower though? I wouldn’t want it on my countertop all the time and it seems bulky for under the cabinet.
I actually use micellaire water to clean my brushes. And I add a bit of gel facial cleanser and I find that works best for my brushes with natural hair. If it’s really dirty then I use my shampoo and follow with a bit of conditioner
Thank you Michelle. I'm new here and enjoying your videos. One question though; I learned recently that Castile soap has a very high pH. Do you know anything about it impacting the longevity of the brushes? Thank you very much and looking forward to more content from you
Good morning Michelle. Thanks for the info. I am currently researching and in the market to buy natural hair brushes. I am in mid life, I have 15 mins to get my make up on, and need to look put together so I can get to work. I was looking to buy Sonia G or Wayne Goss eye only however, your offer is comparable with the cost of eye and face together and I am considering ordering it. A side question, Charlotte Tilbury has mentioned her shadows do not produce fall out. Do you find this to be so and do the natural hair brushes minimize this along with better quicker placement for more “seasoned” eyes?
I really appreciate this video too Michele...your voice sounds a lot more like you again too..and like others have said..your hair in the last couple of videos or so....beautifulllllll! Lindy xoxo
Nice post. Thank you! I have a brush drying stand but that Sigma one looks more compact & perhaps hold more brushes! I am probably an over washer. I worry about the residual oils from those daily cleaners breaking me out. I have many but over the years, continually have the Jane Iredale one. My fav. I do like those brush guards. I only use them on particular brushes & remove after they have dried a while. Sonia G's blog has some interesting information on brush drying/cleaning/shaping. Have you ever read all that stuff on that soap you use? My kids call it the Jesus soap. ;) 1 weird. I always rinse my brushes @ the end in cold water. Like real hair, seal the cuticles. Hehe Izzams of mine.
Just discovered this channel after falling out of love with mainstream beauty gurus. Love, love, love her calming and informative vibe!
So happy to see how you clean your brushes. I love those brush guards for travel.
I love seeing brush cleaning techniques, and I LIVE for that Sigma tower. It makes the drying process so much nicer and takes up less space!
Are the other scents good for it too? I mean.. Won't it have any oils that won't do any good to the brushes..
Good Morning Michelle. I'm so glad that you did this video! I just ordered my first set of natural hair brushes (Rephr) and want to take care of them properly so they will last for awhile. I'm sure this will be good to know going forward! I'm loving your videos BTW!!
Thank you so much Kelly!
Thanks Michele for this video. I found it very clear & well done.
Has anyone realized how soft and smooth her skin looks like? 😍😍😍😍🤗🤗😉😉
I love your tip for using brush guards when traveling! That is genius. Years ago I bought the Suqqu cheek brush after watching Lisa Elridge videos. thanks for sharing this! i have sensitive eczema prone skin, so, making a habit of cleaning my brushes is so important.

I have been using this Dr. Bronner soap for my brushes for years. It’s the best! It comes in a bar as well 😘
Ive been telling people about this dr banners soap hack ever and ive been doing it for years! It works sooo goood!!!
Hi Michele! Thanks for the tip on cleaning brushes. Especially the natural hair ones. I think I've been cleaning them too often and using a little too much soap. The Dr. Bonner's is excellent and really does keep them feeling softer than what I was using before. Thanks again. 🙂💕
Great tutorial on cleaning brushes. Thank you so much.
Great instructions and I was shook that I’m doing this correct.

Cynthias stylemua this is what I do & recommend. My heart sank when I saw how she was spraying them.
@@pinkpixie913 Do you clean your brushes like I do?
thanks Michele, I appreciate all the time and effort you put on your videos. Will you be reviewing the brushes that you got from Japan? I’d LOVE to see it💕
I love your curation of ESUM brushes!
I like it also, to safe my brushes with a brushguard when I travel.
Great video, Michele.
Amazing deal!! I just ordered the complete set along with the new #3 brush for testing. I have the complete Wayne Goss collection and I'm anxious to see how these compare.
👍🏻 👍🏻 thank you!!

GOOD MORNING THANK YOU FOR THIS VERY INFORMATIVE VIDEO 💐
I own that pink brush spa mat...mine came in a set with a mild brush cleaner. But, I need that brush drying rack...that piece is very functional.
Wow Michele, your hair!!! What have you done with it, it looks absolutely gorgeous, it is exactly my dream hair look!! Happy to see your channel growing and prospering. Happy lunar new year from Korea🥰😍
I wanted to make this same comment--she looks STUNNING today!
Same!!! I didn’t hear the first 5 mins of the video 🤣
I just got my rephr brush and looking for ways to clean them. Thank u for the information
I love your hair, your grey streaks are beautiful! I also needed these tips, because washing my makeup brushes are one of my least chores to do. Thanks so much for sharing!
Your personal brush collection is goals! I wish I had a collection like yours.
Oh that's great!! Thanks so much for sharing!!
Good morning Michele! Congratulations on the success of your brushes!!! Ekkkkk 🤗❤️
Love ya 💕💕
Michele, do you dilute the Castile soap? Label instructions seem to indicated we should.
Cool review Michelle. I learn something from all off these brush cleaning videos.
Thanks Catherine!
You are the brush queen! If I ever want to know about brushes, your channel is my first (and likely only) stop.

Aytomatic Brush cleaners will do the job perfect, and in secs... I love it, practical, effortless, and stunningly quick. 😍

Great tips! Always enjoying watching your videos ❤️
Yes to sigma (I have the glove) and yes to dr bronners!! What a wonderful informative video. Love you
Thanks for this video, I use the Sigma cleaning pad as well, although not for my more delicate brushes. I also have the Sigma drying tree, which I really like. Hi Michelle, maybe I’m wrong, but I remember Watch this same video before in your chanel long time ago. Thank for remind you people who don’t know how wash brushes. 😉
Great video, Michele. Really good information. Brush guards are a great idea!
Yay so happy that your brushes are back! I even included them in my favorites ! Thank you for this cleaning video good to know I’m doing it correctly, and I love my Rephr brushes - need to get that number 22 as well.
This was so helpful Michele! Getting one of those sprays for intermediate use! And your esum brushes!! Can’t wait to try them!!
Thanks so much Michelle! I just got my first high end brushes.... and I was in way over my head with how to care for them but I think I have this under control now haha!
Aren't they the best?! I just love the rephr team!! xoxo
I have one from Beautylish by the brand Benjabelle that was around $12, and it serves me well
Thank you Becky!
I love my Benjabel! I missed out on the black one in the model I’d wanted (waited too long to finally place my order), so I jumped on getting it white, along with the swivel base while it was still available. I knew I’d kick myself if I didn’t!
Yay! Just got your brush set and 30% off the travel brush book which looks so handy! Your complexion looks like perfection here btw... 👍🤗
I been loving your hair!!!! so soft and approachable :)
Thank you!!
Literally cleaning my brushes with Dr. Bronners and my Sigma Mat while watching Michele talk about cleaning her brushes with Dr. Bronners and her Sigma Mat! Great minds think alike! 😂
We just got a suqqu store in korea and i just bought my first suqqu brushes today so thank you so much for this video!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻💖💖
Congrats!!
Hi Michele! I know this is an older video but I just wanted to ask if you are still using the Dr Bronners baby castile soap or if you've changed since this video. Thank you!
Thanks for the heads up about the Cos Bar sale!! I was able to get a bunch of stuff that I’ve been wanting to try for 1/2 off💜💜
Same here. I would otherwise not have purchased some of the items because of the cost. There were some excellent deals.
Literally stopped the video to buy the Rephr brushes. Wanted to try them for months now after I saw some youtubers using them, but the price put me off so far as I couldnt touch them and feel them. But now they are around 16bucks a brush plus free delivery to London!!! Yay!!
I know this is an older video but I was looking at how to properly
Clean the rephr brushes before purchasing because these would be my first natural hair ones ... is the IT cosmetics brush love cleaner ok in your opinion?! Also I have all the sigma stuff ... pad , and drying rack but can you use any baby soap or shampoo ?! I have the foam
Sigma cleaner too ?!
Wow two for two. You’re the second person today that announced their personal code for the Rephr set. And I’m also so early!
👍🏻 👍🏻
Luv your posts! Yay Michele! Actually, do you know what year TF switched to synthetic hair brushes? 👍🍀
thank you for bringing back your brushes
Thank you,great tips,I'm glad you're feeling better🤗
Omg those brushes seem beautiful! I may just have to get them! Also, totally going to try that soap! I'm also very into the brush gaurds
Thanks Alexis!
👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻
Thanks Michele. I appreciate the time and the explanation for his and the why's of brush maintenance. Blessings, Latina
Thank you!!
Have a good day Michele. Thank you for doing this video. Xx.
Have a great day!
Michelle this is the same soap I used for my brushes because I can’t use most fragranced products. I don’t dilute it though. I have to try that.
Great video. I noticed I get sort of a ring of color right up near the ferrule due to me trying not to get that part too wet. Am I being overly cautious wish the soap/water?
Soooo useful Michele. Thanks for this video 😍
Thanks for sharing the video. I was not aware of those net guards
Hi thank you for sharing this today because I have been struggling with how to clean my brushes without compromising their integrity.
Really helpful and in detail video, amazing as always Michele!
Thanks Zara!
Great video. I’m not sure about the Parian Spirit brush cleaner. It seems very strong, it’s toxic if swallowed and flammable. Thoughts?
Thank you Michele!!! I’m taking care of my brushes just the same way as you (I even have the same dry ‘n shape Sigma tower 😂) so now I feel reassured and very proud of myself 😂😂😂
Great video!!!
I enjoy the Clean Apothecary a lot!!
@@TheMicheleWang 👍👍😊
I have been eyeing the tower but haven’t committed to purchasing it yet. What I do is use my hair rubber bands, go to the towel bar in my bathroom, loop the band around the bar, and then stick the brush in the band so that the bristles are upside down. It works but the tower just seems handy. Is it hard to store though the tower though? I wouldn’t want it on my countertop all the time and it seems bulky for under the cabinet.
Your look in this video so beautiful!
This video was so helpful Michele!
Serious lesson!!! Have to clean my brushes!! Many of these amazing brushes aren't available here...
your video is very instructionsional and informative! thank you!!
Lindy xoxo
Thanks Lindy!!
Yay, finally this video it’s here 😻
😍
Yes yes yes. Thank you. I asked this video only weeks ago. Thank you very very much. Xx I love you Michele ❤️❤️❤️😘😘🧧🧧🧧
Thank you Michele 💗💗💗🤩
Hello Michele, what’s your favorite Eyebrushes? The Top 10 Face Brushes Video was great! 💕
My ESUM brush set definitely and any of the Sonia G and Rephr brushes! 😃
Nice post.
