Yeah! I was surprised as well! I clearly didn’t rate it but if you liked Sausage Party it’s probably worth at least a go to see how you find it. I didn’t find it funny but comedy is so subjective 😊
We even had Joker 2: Folie a Deux this year and that also released in 2024 next to Sausage Party Foodtopia which are both now considered dumpster fires
Yeah there definitely were some moments in it I enjoyed as well. I just didn’t like the overall product. What elements from the film do you feel they cleaned up/addressed then? 😄
And I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😄 I legit liked Sausage Party but I just didn’t click with Foodtopia and didn’t find it funny . I even went back and watched Sausage Party again after finishing the show and I still enjoyed that 🤔
While pretty much everything you said rang true, it's definitely a dumb and unfair criticism to say that it's in bad taste to parody Trump just because he was grazed AFTER the show came out. Should all past parodies of Trump now be scrubbed from history? Because surely we couldn't bear to have anyone say anything bad about our god-emperor Trump, despite his constant bullying and violent, hateful rhetoric toward others.
Yeah I get what you’re saying Cab. I’m honestly not a fan of Trump in any shape or form and only observe American politics from afar. I probably didn’t articulate myself properly but what I was trying to say was that so many shows/films in the last few years have been pushing a very obvious social commentary on the American political narrative and it’s riling up Americans from what I’ve been reading online. And now you can add Foodtopia to that list of shows/films. And yes the show came out before Trump was shot but I feel it’s in poor taste parodying him in this context because the whole show almost swaps what humour it did have for politics after episode 4 (give or take) and it’s all a bit too on the nose. If Foodtopia wasn’t so reliant on the political narrative and they still wanted to parody Trump, or Biden or anyone else I wouldn’t have had as much a problem with it. I don’t know, in my head it made sense anyway but i’ll bare in mind the points you’ve made in the future. Also the last thing I want is more cancel culture. Anyway I appreciate you checking out the review and agreeing with some of it 👍
if I had to make a Sausage Party Animated series (for whatever reason) I'd make it so it's about them trying to overthrow Humanity rather than them already having done it and trying to make a society out of it because then you could actually have them learn about the world without the obligation to have someone there to give all of them exposition that serves basically negative purpose it could flesh out the world more (like explore the rules better instead of calling people who question this world's logic stupid) meet new characters (especially ones from outside the store, genuinely kind of disappointed this show didn't do that) and face some pretty interesting challenges. Like animals obviously, but also maybe they could actually have rotting and molding be a consistent problem and not just something that's only brought up when the writers want it to be. Then maybe they could try and find some way to help stop it for them, whether it be a real method of preservation or some BS like the Bath Salts, or maybe the finale could be them killing two birds with one stone by (somehow) plunging the world into a new ice age, so the weather is cold enough for them to stay refrigerated, and everything that could eat them is now dead (I'm now imagining them setting off all the nukes in the world to plunge the Earth into a Nuclear Winter and honestly that kind of sounds hilarious) how did I put more thought and effort into the basic premise than the writers did for the entire plot!?
My guy, that instantly sounds more interesting than the show itself and I completely agree with your take. I was thinking about the whole rotting/mouldy food angle myself and how that could have been a whole thing they had to content with so i’m completely on board with your ideas. 👌 It’s a shame the show is so disappointing. I really wanted to enjoy it but I just couldn’t 👎
You make a good point, I did struggle to find licence free music for this review and I wasn’t entirely happy with what I chose but I didn’t think it was awful. I don’t know if you ever make videos yourself but finding royalty free music is the hardest part of editing (in my opinion) if you have any advice then feel free to let me know. I also need to accept that background music isn’t needed in every video. I appreciate the feedback 👍
No one asked for the first movie either
Isn’t that the truth! I honestly thought the original was alright though, atleast back in 2016
I didn't know what sausage party was, and I regret learning...
My eyes, I hate having eyes
😂😂😂
Yeah it’s pretty grim lol 😳
Hold up! They were dead serious about this series?!? I thought it was a rumour🤨
Yeah! I was surprised as well!

What a world we live in ey! So gutted about Joker 👎
I didn't even know this existed. Like, it's a bad sign if I hear the title alone and sigh.
Yeah I was on Prime Video over the weekend and randomly came across it. Never saw any advertisement for the show
THERE’S NO WAY THIS CAN BE REAL!!!! SO FAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m afraid it’s very real my friend. Worth checking out if you liked the film but I didn’t rate Foodtopia at all
@@JacksonM91 lol i watched the film and it gave me weird vibes, i just don’t get why this exists and the animation looks cheaper than in the movie
Yeah it’s baffling lol. I think they missed the mark on this and the moment has definitely gone
There were certain episodes that were interesting, however I do think the whole show cleaned up a lot of things that the first film had problems with
Yeah there definitely were some moments in it I enjoyed as well. I just didn’t like the overall product. What elements from the film do you feel they cleaned up/addressed then? 😄
@@JacksonM91 to be fair, they did put a warning on that episode about the sex scene
Yeah that’s a fair point. I think it was the only episode with a warning/disclaimer
@@JacksonM91 it was
was there advertising for this film. i saw ads for the first one but this is the first I'm herring of a sequel and if I'm lucky it will be the last
It was very minimal advertising from what I can tell. I saw it on the ‘top 10 list for what people are watching’ chart. It wasn’t a great watch!
Well I really enjoyed it! Sorry you haven't got a sense of humour 😅
And I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😄
I legit liked Sausage Party but I just didn’t click with Foodtopia and didn’t find it funny .
I even went back and watched Sausage Party again after finishing the show and I still enjoyed that 🤔
I asked for it
Did you enjoy it? I’m happy for you if you did 😄
The movie gave me the thought of WTF is this when i was a kid
100% - The show will do the same as well

Wait how the fuck did I not see a trailer for this shit
Yeah I don’t think it was the best advertised show. I saw it on the top 10 chart on prime video for what people are watching
@@JacksonM91 top 10 chart!? 💀🤣

Seth rogan hates you for not being a jew, like he is.
Food for thought. (i did a pun)
I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if that is the case lol 👀
@@JacksonM91 He was fairly explicit about this when he made that Xmas film with Sarah Silverman.
Get rid of the background music
