Very cool bike. I have the 83, I really enjoy it. The one weak point is the stator, you can get an upgrade with more voltage, I believe it Ricky's stator. I ran into trouble by over jetting the carbs, it creates a stumble in decel, and top end. Jetting was more sensitive than expected. Starting cold can be an issue, there are plenty of videos on how to. Me I put the choke on with ignition off. I open full throttle with decompression lever pulled, I then kick it over seven times to prime it. At this point, cycle the engine until it reaches top dead center. This will be when the engine gets hard to turn over. Then with the compression lever, release the pressure and cycle just past TDC, bring your kick starter all the way back up, then kick start. This last process will have to be repeated if it does not start right off. Then it will start usually first kick. The bike is a hoss. I hope this helps. Thanks for sharing.
