Loving this video but felt a bit seasick at times. Practice makes PERFICK though guys. Like you say it's so sad to see what once was a lovely home decaying. If only it could talk eh? I am a retired antique dealer and I get weak in the knees watching you guys going through these fantastic houses. Not this one so much but the ones with old furniture and dish wear paintings but watching them rot breaks my heart.

When I was a teen, I rented a basement suite in a big old house in Kitsilano area of Vancouver. The 2 old-timers who lived upstairs had many antiques also. That was in late 60s.

I agree 100%. Some of the houses have incredible antiques & seeing the decay on them absolutely breaks my heart! I often think of the guys on American Pickers with some of the items, like the bike in this video.

Man I would love that pottery and to try the alcohol.

I read the update...... Such a sad tragic end for the husband. Losing his son, then his wife. All three lives ended due to cancer.
How sad he must have felt in his home alone, with only memories surrounding him. I'd imagine the couple was a loving one based on their home's contants.
There are so many reasons as to why a home is abandoned after the death of owners. What disturbs me the most is how others have discovered it, ransacked / vandalised every room. Moronic people looking no doubt for valuables. Just a shame arrangements were not made by the estate to board up the windows and secure the doors. I realize that costs money, perhaps that was one reason it wasn't done.
You both have been respectful showing us this home. For that reason I have subscribed to your channel, and looking forward to your future explorations.

During the 60s, 70s, 80s & 90s my husband and I and numerous relatives and friends moved into abandoned homes in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas. While cleaning and rehabilitating and getting utilities on we would almost always find someone who could give us written permission by checking property tax records . We got free rent on interesting homes, did a good deed, and at times were allowed to sell some of the stuff. I don't know why people choose to sleep on sidewalks when places like this stay empty?

If you don't make arrangements, all is left to be scavenged. We can't take it with us so live life while you can! This got me rather emotional as I love photos. My house is like this one, photos on every wall, i can tell you when and where and who in each one. The thought that one day I may not have anyone who loves me enough to treasure them like I do is heart breaking. Someone needs to rescue those photos from that family before they are lost forever. People don't care these days. Its al on PCs and drives they say, its on the coud in the sky.. yes but the real ones are on walls for all to look at and dicsuss. I would have loved you to have looked at each of those photos. Maybe someone recognises someone and can point you in the right direction. Please show more photos. They are disregarded forever so no foul is sharing.

Some ( not all ) photos must be printed to see the real value of it.Today most of the people take snapshots in stead of photos ( with mobile device).Taking time to take a photo translates (most of the time ) to an interesting result that is worth printing it ( larger scale ) to enjoy it each day.Love the old photos, sadly most of my familly photos got lost or burned.Found 2 when my grandparents sold their house ( farm) .Both are hanging on my wall.Agree with Clare about the importance of photos, each one tell it s own history.

It must have been heart breaking seeing others had been before you and instead of being respectful they graffitied and been through cupboards and drawers (Who knows what they took) what really got me was when you closed the drawers and cupboards, it felt like you were trying to undo what those idiots had done and show you can explore without destroying or needing to ' tag' every wall and door, these were people's homes, they contain memories and treasures and you both show that all you ever take from these places are a snap shots of these sadly forgotten places that once thrived with family's living their lives, till sadly one day there's no one left to take care of these wonderful places, such a shame, but you two make them immortal by showing these wonderful moments where time has stopped forever.

Russ Hook but maybe one should think further about these vandals. What is it that makes folk do such shoddy acts of vandalism? Maybe they've never been taught about respecting other people, respecting other folks' property. Maybe they have no self-respect, so why would they respect anything else. It's incredibly sad, but I do believe I'm looking further than on the surface
