More and more I am less inclined to run God King over Urban Planning. I just find the production boost so much more beneficial early... especially building the settler for the first expansion and then the Monument in that expansion. There are always decent Pantheons left. If you are trying to beat the AI to a specific Pantheon... it's rare that God King will make the difference.
in my current game i went with a different strat i planned for like 10 min in the start 3 really good cities and then B-lined hansa and aqueduct and i had so much adjecency on my hansas that now i can catch back up so fast with all the production like 60 production in one city fairly early in the game

People are doopid. If you want to settle what the game thinks is a good spot to settle, then *you* can settle where the game puts you. But people like me that doesn’t want to spend twenty minutes wandering around looking for mountains or rainforests, I will shuffle by restarting. Maybe I’ll even shrink the map down.

I hate rerolling starts but if I'm going to put 60hrs into playing I like to feel it's at least solid. I don't think I've ever rerolled more than six times tops. I'm on my eighth play ever and second try on deity and on my first reroll I spawned on the Fountain of Youth. I was excited but didn't want a start THAT good.
Your second city... I would have founded it on coast... I guess I am too much contaminated with old civ games.. from 1 to 6 You would have a +4 harbour there tho

You build 3 early cities... Should I build 4? Seems I should know this, but I don't:) You cut alot of early game units... I normally build 2 extra... I have a problem. How do I stop my friend nuking me to oblivion via surprise war even if I’m far ahead the whole game? He does this every game and I’m not good enough at domination yet to win via war against him regardless of technology difference, although I play pacifist anyway. None of the victory conditions outside religion and domination actually seem fast enough for me to not get nuked before I win
Hey VB , What do you think should be our science milestones for deity I usually target 100 science by turn 120 then 400 by 210 Then for late game (250+) - 800 science. I am on immortal . Are these ok numbers ?
Numbers milestones are irrelevant because AI cheats and will always have more than you, they are different every time you will have to reveal other civs to see what are you going up against, cheating aside AI is terrible in anything else, so going to war with them to shrink those numbers is how you win. Once you kill 2-3 civs and capture their cities you have won the game and you just steamroll from that point, literally every civ from IV to this one is played like this and i swear AI didnt change at all! CIv has only one AI so it behaves the same on lower and highest difficulty, only thing that is different is their production yields boosted by cheats.
@@Dotalol123 Isn't the behaviour of the AI different for each difficulty setting as well? They are obviously way more aggresive on Deity than Settler...
@@Mr__Chicken Trust me you have an illusion because AI doesnt play the game, they just have cheats for yields, so larger difficulty AI has more stuff in the bank, but behavior is the same, there is no way someone will persuade me that modern developers wasted their time to write 6 separate bot scripts for each difficulty.

turn 58 oracle on standard speed? in my games it's always gone by turn 45, sometimes sub turn 30
