One of the best interviews. A pilot without hubris, arrogance, attitude etc, widely experienced.
F-16 training was just over 6 months if you did not come from another fighter (OA-37 did not count as one).
Really enjoyed the interview. Looking forward to Part 2. There was a mention of the book in the interview, "Vipers in the Sand" 33:08 . I could not find that that title. I found "Vipers in the Storm"? Is that the title that was mentioned?
Sorry it was Vipers in the Storm
@@kanfly2 Thank you.
Those f15 fight tactics sound hella fun to pull off
I'm really curious to hear about his other environments in Part 2. He's certainly flown a wide range of different planes with different missions!
Only correction I would make is that no, the Army still does not control fixed-wing CAS. The JTACs are USAF, but while when he (and I) were doing it, it was all pilots doing the controls, now it's enlisted personnel which really is a better system for most situations.
Another great interview! I could have happily listened to Tony for another hour
Cheers!
Reminds me of the old strike master. Thanks both for another great interview😊😊
Our pleasure!
FAC pilots used the Cessna Birddog!
Great interview. And Happy 50th Birthday to the F-16.....think it will be around for another 50 at least...
Cheers
Great stuff - always interested hear about some of the less well known types / activities. Thank you.
